I have the RG35XX and love it with Garlic OS. Now that CFW is coming to the Plus model, I’m interested in the RG35XX Plus. I came across this RG35XX H and I think this is great! I didn’t want to buy another Anbernic that is so similar with small updates so the H model is the one I’m going to try. Thanks for the review
Finally a review that explains the devices in simple english! ! All the other reviews assume that the buyer is a computer geek all i wanted to know was if i could play games out the box, connect it to a bigger screen, connect controllers and play two player games
I have both in the same colors, and your words are same of mine… I like both and I play with both too, with friends, Family, my daughter… they are equal, but diferents too…
Used to think the same, its an alternative but not really the same, old phone plus cheap d3 controller sure you dont really need one of this devices, but now that I got one of this I changed my mind, I have also a phone plus controller but I prefer the linux interface than dealing with android for starters, its way more work to set everything up, and more often than not I had issues with my controller not working correctly with retroarch either didnt wanted to register 2 button inputs or stop working and start jumping between controller 1 2 3 etc, so phone plus controller I would not recommend for newcomers since itsmore leg work. I bought the rg35xx plus under 100, changed OS to batocera and it has been beyond awesome experience, most games I like to play run smooth as hell, granted for me as long as marvel vs capcom 2 runs well everything beyond that works is a plus and most everything below dreamcast works great on this device so I think I wont have to buy anything new for a long time also have a steam deck and while its miles better on emulation power its just to big and for some reason dont grab it as much asthe little device.
I got an LG V60 for emulation with a Razr controller. Its WAY more powerful but i find myself reaching for my 351M every single time. Something about the build quality and instant startup makes the more powerful option surprisingly less appealing.
I went for the Gameboy color scheme on the plus, and ordered a black 35xx H, coming next week, love this tiny device, not perfect but cheap and plays most games I love, for PSP, GameCube, PS2 etc I got a steam deck, but it's just to big to bring it around, also if something happens to this cheaper devices it ain't bad, getting steamdeck lost/stolen damage etc bringing it outside would really hurt hahaha specially since I have it with out password to start and if stolen would be a nightmare if someone messes up with my steam library or starts messing around my internet browser, now that I think about it might put a password 😂
After getting the rgxx35 plus i feel like getting the H is better as most psp or dreamcast games play better with analog stick and also when u accidentally drop it at least u won't hit the corners of the screen.
Yep I broke one already (Well, someone else did...) I regret not getting the H, however I like the GB imitation form factor on the Plus and it seems to have a better build quality despite the vulnerable screen
I got the Plus because i wanted to experience the older 2D RPG stuff I missed as a kid & OG pokemon again etc. as a bedside device and knew I would instantly go to PS1 if I had the thumb-sticks. But watching my son play Mario 64 left me jealous so Ive ordered the H as my consoled/travel device that can play it all. Still think the plus is better for old school stuff but if you want one device that can do it all up to N64 (which I never owed) it's had to argue the H isn't the better option.
great video, good luck with your channel! i love seeing these handheld retro emulators pop up, I know we can emulate on phones but its so much cooler having a dedicated device like this. do you know if there are any devices like this on the market that can emulate PS2?
Did these come with Mario games? I’ve been told the Mario games and some of the other bigger Nintendo titles have been removed before shipping and you need to download and add your own ROMs. Thanks for the video and info
The advantage is that they have warehouses here in the states and the shipping is faster, Anbernic is based in China and shipping can take about a month.
You couldn't be more wrong, Anbernic has warehouses in the US, I order from them frequently and they show up in a week. On their website you have a choice of warehouse, US, China or UK.@@JoelsterG4k
@jacobramos826 The link is my affiliate link, it is a legit company, but you don't need to buy it from there you can also buy it from amazon, amzn.to/4c3Ppxd
Hi. Can you help me? I've manage to dl 16gb Anbernic firmware on a 32GB sandisk SD card. When I use the 256gb sandisk SD card the console doesn't turn on. When I use both the games don't show. I put the Rom and Bioms folders on the 256gb card so I think it should be right.
Yes, some games must be missing but those systems do come in the SD card at least on mine, otherwise is quite easy to go to internet archive and download complete collections and then drag and drop to folders
@@FromMeToYou77 mine works ok, but ppl that have more experience with this cheap SD cards highly recommend to buy a branded good SD card or at the very least make a back up from your card since it can at any moment fail and get corrupted. To be honest it isn't a big deal even if it fails, you can download and burn a new one quite easily, plenty of vids showing you how to do it and also ROMs are easy to download and since you only want few systems, that makes it easier just download what you like, I am not a big fan of 1000s of games, I keep only the games that bring nostalgia and few top games per system also that look good on 4:3 aspect ration shoot em ups that look tiny I delete or games that need frameskip, having to many options and very ancient games or bad games makes the experience not that great imo but that depends on personal preference.
@@morid0 so true bro I made my tablet for retro games worked great but I use it for other things so i had to give up the games. Yea it's very simple to do the retro games in any system. Done it before so im good to go.
God of War is one of the hardest games to emulate on the PSP. Youll need to get a more powerful device to handle GOW. Retroid Pocket is probably a better option for that.
