Bro just finished watching mkbhd review on this he didn't even review the sound quality. How the hell do u review headphones without talking about the sound quality???
in my opinion mkbhd's reviews are quite unique in how he takes perspective. i think he is more concerned about "would a normal consumer get an overall good impression?" kind of experience, that picks up necessary quirks that enthusiasts also miss sometimes. ANC experiences seem vary varied on the Ace though for some reason... there might be build quality issues involved by now.
I'll stick to my Momentum 4's. While the ANC may not be the best of the best, it's still miles ahead of my older noise cancelling headphones. Additionally, the sound quality is phenomenal after using the custom tuning in the app. Every delicate vocal detail is present and good vocals are just silky smooth. The deep bass extension is impressive and the highs are present and clear while being subdued just a hair to reduce long term listening fatigue. The microphone performance in noisy environments is actually what I prefer. The upper mids shine through much clearer than other headphones that get too aggressive with noise reduction. I'd much rather trade a little bit of background noise for clarity in that super important intelligibility range so that callers can understand what I'm saying. I've been on the other end of calls when users had headphones with aggressive noise canceling and it's AWFUL to try to understand what they're saying. Sure, I can't hear their environment, but I can't understand them either. That defeats the purpose. The Momentum 4's just seem to balance all those ancillary features just right, while maintaining EXCELLENT audio quality for listening - which is the main purpose of headphones.
@@keithpalacios9417 they are SO good bro. Comfy, long lasting, great sound (although I have to say that VERY MUCH depends on the source device!!) I have a Mac mini and a Xiaomi 13T and the Xiaomi is much quieter. That's why I'm getting myself an iphone 8 for using it as the iPod.
Ahh! I’m struggling between momentum4 and Sonos! I had momentum 3 but in ear earphones and they were the best I ever had all chips on the table but I want to know do you really love the momentum 4 overear
Best channel for headphones reviews. Awesome video very informative. I have the MAX and I'm listening in Atmos and recently got the Bose Ultra. The Bose don't do immersive Atmos content like the Maxes. Apple is on the front with that technology. Are the Sonos good in Atmos?
Thank you! As far as I know, it only does Atmos decoding through the Sonos Arc for now. I was watching Dolby Digital stuff on the Apple TV app though (iPhone), and the sound objects felt very distinct and localizable.
Sounds like a good headphone from Sonos for their first pair of headphones. I'm currently looking for noise cancelling headphones for long haul flights but at the current price of the XM5 I can't justify the price for the Sonos
Only paid 200 USD for my XM4 a year ago and they are so comfortable, sound good with EQ tuning, and the noise cancelling is so good sometimes I forget I live in the city.
The biggest problem i have with the sonos Ace is, they don't keep the frequency signature the same, when changing Modes from ANC to Normal to transparency.. that's a complete immersion breaker for me. the Airpods Max does it right. but the Max lack a solid equalizer to perfect the frequency response so that's no choice for me because i 99% listen to music when wearing headphones and want to get immersed by it.
I have a terrible addiction to over-the-ear headphones and my collection is nearly two dozen. I find it's more fun to have all the decent name guys and embrace what they do well. Depending on what I'm doing, I use different cans. But if I'm honest, I most frequently rotate through the M4s, XM5s, XM4s, Ultras, QC45s, and Technics for casual listening. Or the Bose Studio 3s and Pros for the gym.
Great review, but scratching my head wondering why you didn’t include the most obvious comparison - Airpods Max but included 2 pairs of Sony XM’s. The APM are so similar in build, design, features, price point etc they really should have been included. Maybe your going to compare at a later date 🤷🏻♂️.
I’m so confused 😭. I’m doubting so hard between the B&W PX72Se and the Sonos. I guess I have to test them out myself, especially with the bass all the way up. Having said that, thanks Aaron. You’re one of the only (if not the only) channel(s) I trust when it comes to headphone sound quality.

To be honest I own M4 They are dark AF in tuning with a veiled high mids I recently tested the Bose qc ultra are better in terms of you know natural tuning But in terms of sound production and sound Stage sennheiser can even blow Bathys out of the water IF THEY GIVE US HIGH END SOUND TUNING FEATURE in the next firmware !! Their sound production is just spot on SMOOOTH
M4 best headphone i have tested. I love sound stage, instrument separation and bas. Those are the reason i want an over the ear headphone and the M4 delivers. Sorry about your experience
To me, these sub 500 dollar headphones are very similar from one to the other. So far, I'm keeping my B&O h95 but Sonos may change my mind due to its comfort wearability.
sennheiser 4s anc is problematic. additionally I feel it not suitable to wear for hours and hours. where as xm5 sound a bit direct and less dramatic , is soothing sound . can watch many movies and listen to music back to back without any discomfort to inner or outer ears.

If you want to block out those annoying city leaf blowers that blow so the whole block to hear them get the wavelet app. Its worth every penny. I recommend turning it to the default eq on the sony headphone app. You can customize the eq to your needs. And you delect auto eq. Its a much better experience. Youre like me. Seem to hate neighbors and public works. When they rev shit too early.
Sound quality comparisons are so subjective. While you may favor the Sonos for its "more exciting" sound (?), others will think the Sony or M4 is "more exciting" because they both have significantly more low-end punch.
I think that the majority would have preferred the Bose and the Airpod Max instead of the Xm4 and Sennheiser in this comparison, but everyone also knows that it is done on purpose to be able to get as much content and views as possible on this Sonos.
nah, depends on who you ask and to each their own... I returned the Bose QuietComfort 2023 model, though it is a bit more comfortable than my XM4's they were lacking something. So this review sits well with me! I may pick up the Sonos or not
i think your sound comparison tool on your website is completely off sounding with phaseshifts and tonality issues related to your recording method. wouldn't recommend your product at all because the differences in what i perceived myself with said products vary alot and i have a set of completely flat, ear canal resonance point adjuested, 16 band equalised headphones that reproduces sound like linear studio speakers, to measure that immediatly because i owned many of listed items myself to make my point. oluv did a better job at this but he stopped continuing his database sadly.
Whelp, judging by your sound samples, the Sonos have almost as much noise floor as the XM4. In 2024 that's a deal breaker for me. Which is a shame, because i would probably like the sound - the Sonys sound more muddy to me than Beats (!), even with the bass turned down.
My thoughts exactly, Sennheiser sounded best, Listened on Sennheiser HD660s through iFi Zen Dac v2, Balanced Out, with my custom clarity EQ. Sennheisers had clear layering, with the vocals being clearly separate, while sonos blended them into the same plane.
anything but sennheiser now. their customer service is absolute garbage. issues with the momentum tw4, 2 months in and still yet to get back to my email.

I thought Sono will also limit it to iPhone users only as they did with their soundbars 😂 and let see how the make Business we the Android users are pretty much happy with the Sonys brand because they offer us chrome cast on there devices. Selfish SONO 😅
I feel like XM4, and then XM5 greater in term of sound quality compared to rest :D sorry but SONOS is too much American sound signature :D kinda Bose, apple, beats which means, not dark or warm. or not deep bass, mids too high, not good for every type of music SONY far better for sound quality. so as I see all the hype in market , again marketing :D
the sonos ace have a big issue actually with keeping the sound signature steady in each mode.. ANC, Normal and Transparency sound completely different each their own.. what a shame.

Apples headphones weigh twice as much as Bose and Sony, not even in the debate. Sony blocks out more noise than Apple overall and that's been facts for two years. Honestly, why will someone pay $450 for these Sonos when to really benefit from them, you have to be in the Sonos "Close-System", while most are already in that of Apple, and for those who are not there, Sony or other Sennheiser exist and do not have "Close-System" constraints, frankly, why 🤷🏽♂️ Today, all manufacturers want to have their "Close-System", none realize that the only winner at the end of this crazy race will be Apple, and perhaps Google to a certain extent 🤦🏽♂️

M4 sound still the best among all this including bose QC ultra & airpod max. Edit: m4 doesn't need to adjust the eq sound better than all so not sure why saying need the eq cause tested all except the sonos, none came close to m4 except bathys.
Bathys is an absolute Beast of a bluetooth Headphone though. On the lower end with ANC but with SOund being the primary factor i think no other headphone comes even close
@@Sh4kki No, Bathys is not a beast. Bought the Bathys last week. Although the sound was amazing, it produces annoying thumping sounds while walking and taking buses. Its noise cancelling is really bad, and you have no way to turn it off.
