My ancestors have told me what they want on the altar. I just started a couple of weeks ago and they guide and direct me to what to add and where to place it. They are so loving and patient and definitely have a sense of humor.
Lol sometimes I buy something or find something, place it on the altar *either as I’m cleaning the altar or rearranging it* and they tell me they want it and It becomes there’s. This includes plants, crystals, decorations, etc.
@@happyzombiikitti I get that too. I had a runner under my tv in my room and they told me to put it on the altar when I was first setting it up. Then they told me they wanted a white one. When it came in I took everything off to clean with Florida water and put it back together. I commence to taking the runner back to my room. They exclaimed - where do you think you’re going with that? I told them I thought y’all didn’t want it anymore since I got the white one. They were like we want both. We had a big laugh about that. The way they said it and my response was hilarious! Gotta love them!
@@deenajones2002 i am Native American so i have more of a cultural altar mixed with ancestor. I don’t use white cloth or follow this Santeria tradition, but my grandmother from my moms side did this practice. I’m just trying to find ways to honor her in some way.
1) White cloth 2) Water goblin (in the center) 3) Candle holder (safety) 4) Add water to goblin to the top (for clarity, flow, catalyst for the spirirt) (and for people who read water) 5) Unique something to 'anchor' the altar (a spiritual item) based on your tradition, i.e., Muslim, Buddhism, Christian, etc. OR use The Ankh to represent the God force 6) Tobacco offering (corn pipe or cigar) 7) Espresso cup and saucer (coffee) 8) Sweets/candy 9) Picture of your ancestors OR write their names on a piece of paper ***NO living people in the picture 10) Staff or walking cane (use to tap on the ground to call your Ancestor) 11) Libation (clear liquor or liquid) 12) Noise maker (bell, rattle, maraca) P.S. DO NOT erect an Ancestor Altar if you are not going to maintain it!
Beautiful energy. Informative, helpful and simple guidance to follow. Wish I could put up an alter but leaving up to “maintain it” feels challenging at my point in time. I pray for a home to call my own with space needed for everyone to just, be.
Okay okay I see, The ancestors at my alter are loved ones passed on, I literally give them what I would give them in real life. Fruit, tea, sweetie, porridge or whatever.
Take it as a huge sign of respect, you are the chosen one in your bloodline to reignite that connection with your ancestors and raise awareness amongst your living loved ones ❤

This is AMAZING!!!!! I have been in search of something to replace the crucifix at my boveda for some time because I simply do not identify with Christianity AT ALL but as a 31 year priestess of oshun in the Santeria religion, the crucifix at the boveda is all I know... I am totally replacing it with an ankh and I am sooooo excited about it!!!!!
I am Native American but my mom is taína! My grandmother was an espiritista who worked with saints, so is my mother, but ancestors personally don’t like that for me nor does it call me. Instead I have feathers, rattles. Native American regalia. Im trying to find something to add for my Taino roots, maybe the anhk is the answer as well!
I truly love you. Thank you so much for helping me get right with my Ancestors Altar. This is new to me. I haven't had anyone in my family to teach me these things. I do have my personal reasons for starting the altar. You have a new customer follower and a subscriber. I pray that you can help me be better in servicing/honoring my Ancestors correctly. Thank you
I want to add my estranged father to my altar. He left my life when I was very young but I still feel a very strong connection to him especially after speaking to my half siblings who expressed to me the last few years of his life he expressed wantung to find me but felt too much time had passed and didn’t want my rejection ( he died when I was 15). How would I incorporate him or even know how to let his spirit know I love him and want his presence? I have pictures of him. I appreciate your help
You could put a picture of him on your altar and something he liked like if he smoked cigars, you can put that. I'm not a specialist in this or nothing. I was just thinking of some things that cold do. I put things my lived ones liked when they were alive and picture of them on my altar to represent them and to remember them. Write a letter to your ancestors in red and tape it to the bottom of your candle.
I LOVE your Energy and Sunny Disposition....11 thumbs up as I chime in....That's a Synchronicity for me, and I didn't want to interrupt the flow, so here's my thumbs up....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have had most of the things requested on my family altars without even knowing what was needed. Feeling this closeness to them and having the knowledge almost makes me want to cry, but I appreciate this knowledge.
It’s great you share this information. I was initiated under palo & my godfather never took an interest in even coming to my house. Not sure why he even committed to my initiation. Once my father passed I was left without a guide & I sometimes feel like giving up what I have. However in those times I sometimes find comfort in helping someone who needs help & my faith is re-energized. It’s truly amazing.
Yet another brilliantly informative video so full of such essential knowledge and wisdom! Thank You for shining your light so brightly to light the path for the rest of us! God Bless
You have such a presence! Thank you for this 🙏🏼 been doing a lot to clean up and change up my alter a bit hoping to move into a bigger space in the fall and just can’t wait to really devote proper space for them! Love the idea of noise makers

Just found you today ,while looking for info on my candle. And I love love your spirit. This is the second video I've watched thus far very informative 👏 Thank you! Bendicion
I just telling my daughter that I was starting an Ancestors Altar next month I have to get pictures printed out. I have a lot great people that done pass on. It hurt so bad. I know they are with me. I would love to know what else that I can use to put on there. I lost my brother last month can I but his ashes up there? I would love an ancestors prayer as well. Gratitude for showing me how to set up an Ancestors Altar.
I have pictures of my ancestors on my prosperity altar and Venus altar. On the Day of the Dead I make a small altar on a silver tray with tobacco incense, sugar skulls, white tealight candles and water
This was so very insightful & extremely helpful. I'm literally just starting my spiritual journey & I will watch every last one of your informative video. I've also subscribed to your newsletter! Thank you!
I recently put a bell on my alter I hope they enjoy and recognize that as a noise maker. And I have a cinnamon broom at the alter for them I haven't got a staff yet
