Hi Witches!! Today's Video is allll about Ancestor Work! Do you work with any of your ancestors, or spirits that you are close with? Not all ancestors have to be blood related to you in my opinion. The people who raised us, and shaped us as humans deserve to be venerated too!

Oh my god I straight up FORGOT I made that video????? 😂😂😂 really glad I re-did it- I think I rambled incoherently for 15 minutes and a lot of my ancestry results and was really distracted

Just had a thought, it seems like different pagan faiths celebrate the dead in Fall. I wonder if it's because of the death of the various crops/plants around them. A lot of my Baltic Pagan/ Romuva practice focuses on ancestor worship. If people want to heal generational trauma and ancestral healing, I'm seeing that in therapy circles.

So, I'm really wanting to honor or work with my ancestors as part of my craft. I did the 23&me test but unfortunately don't have access to my family tree since I don't talk to my bio family. I'd love to have my ancestors be a part of my practice more in depth, but am super wary of trickster spirits. Do you have any advice for someone in a situation like me?

Definitely!! I think it’s so awesome you want to connect with you ancestors, and absolutely understand not talking to your bio family 🖤 it can make things difficult. What I have been doing to connect with that side of my family is learning the history of where they are from, and incorporating traditional recipes into my kitchen witchcraft! When cooking I often offer up a prayer and acknowledgment of them, and give them the first serving of food. To me it feels like a nice way to venerate them without specifically calling upon ancestors who I have not personally met. Those who I have, I feel I can recognize pretty easily 🥰

Can you choose to work with specific ancestors for example your nan or uncle or is it more a collective type situation?

You can absolutely elevate, or specifically form a connection with specific ancestors, but I encourage you to explore your ancestry, and work to connect back to your ancestral collective/traditions as well!
