In the original Star Trek series, it was clear that the prime directive only applied to members of Star Fleet, not to private citizens and there were issues where freighter crews had unfortunately interfered with primitive cultures. Basically, something like the prime directive is a poor excuse to explain the Fermi paradox, not all members of a galactic civilization would follow such a directive and even those who did would differ in their interpretations of it.

The Prime Directive hasn’t always been portrayed in the best ways in Star Trek. I hated how depressing it got in Voyager and Enterprise. It’s more reassuring that the Prime Directive doesn’t necessarily specify non-interference, but a balance between helping civilizations when they can’t help themselves and trusting them when they can. At least that’s the natural order of the universe that I like to have faith in.

I dont thibk so, it s just a intelectual behaviour.. They are not aligned with spirit, they are very materialistic and technological only they seem to be more fair and more profesional that average people eatth people nowdays.. And that s it... Its a bit better, but sitll too empty... Too rational, too linear.. Almost thr same believes than nowdays.. They are still very rigid... And like soldiers.. More. Aparently "civilized" but still... you should buy some bitcoin it's the Galactic Currency Standard , each planet starts with only 21 million and it's up to us to trade wisely with intergalactic providers because we have no idea what Bitcoin is actually worth Galactically. the set up is that the earth bitcoin stays with the planet so if we give them some for (whatever) then they can only use it to buy earth goods or labor. it will be a big learning curve before we learn what the 'real' prices of things are..lol

This clip does not portray Star Trek correctly. Of all the episodes, the one that most ressembles the story in the clip is not mentioned at all. Also, the Federation was in no way a secret org that ran planets as described in the clip. Rather, it was simply an association of member-planets, each planet governing themselves as seen in many episodes.

One can say the Star Trek universe being symbolic of inner space, and the real universe symbolic of outer space. Aliens in science fiction also often represent aspects of human nature. Space travel in science fiction often represents overcoming the confines of Earth.

Very entertaining. Not the first time I have heard the postulations. The general thought model has been in our diction and lore for a very long time. I didn't know about the mysterious nine. I was under the impression Rodenberry got his idea of a space alliance protecting Earth and other planets, from a former Navel intelligence officer; MR. Leslie Stevens. He was the son of an admiral in WWII. Stevens was supposed to have suggested to Rodenberry the idea of a space alliance. Read, (The U.S. Navy's Secret Space Program), by Michael E. Salla, Ph.D.

As if we can't figure out on out own that cultures coming in contact with people of a higher technological standard can have dangerous consequences for them and their society. An episode of Star Trek NG makes clear that there were examples in human history where this has happened too often and the results were disastrous. Gene Roddenberry didn't need "the Mysterious Nine" to point out the need for the Prime Directive. Did he ever mention in a bio or at a Star Trek convention how he came up with the idea of the Prime Directive? I would trust that over the Ancient Alien series.

Notice that the process of finding a 'digital root' stems from the exercise of the procedure ....to 'Cast out 9' s' ! Take the Number '33' ! You can simply add up 3 + 3 ='s 6 to get the digital root which is what Numerologists actually do, but what really occurs . . cryptologically that is ... 9 + 9 + 9 + 6 ='s 33 and the three 9's are made to vanish ! So you can take it to be that the 'Council of 9' plays off the Modulo 9 invisibility process !

My problem with Star trek and concepts like the nine is all the magical thinking that went into it. Star Trek definitely seemed to take a magical supernatural approach to many of its episodes. There are huge scientific problems with energy beings, telepathic powers, emotional energy, aliens with superpowers silimar to the force on star wars in some cases, ghosts, shape shifting... yet the first Trek series definitely went magical.

Then that's the case. Who gave the context and knowledge to develope such a organized and official organization to a specific task.... the federation could have hands on a planet but not with out the knowledge of interdimensional beings... like the pyramids could be print from a civilization that humans are aiming for/ closest most advanced civilization.

Total bull! Edgewood Arsenal never conducted such tests. It was a storage site. Aberdeen PG is and equipment test site and storage facility, it replaced Ft. Holabird when it shut down. It has one of the largest collections of military weapons and vehicles in their military museum. Ft. Holabird was the test site for excellence of the Jeep into the Armed Forces.
