To me the Celtic art has always been close to my heart even in grade school I once got in trouble with my teacher for drawing Celtic spirals in the margins of my homework. My Celtic ancestors have a special place in my heart and its my deepest regret that we know so little about them.
I appreciate your work. It seems this history video should start with a brief linking back to the Steppe, Yamnaya culture, etc. before going to later links. Many people of European ancestry don't understand that their ancestry links back to the Steppe.
It's great to see a young good looking interested in that subject, which is my favorite on earth. Celtics are the ancestors of the ancestors of my ancestors. They invented so many things still in use today. Thumbs up for the video.
I would like to draw your attention to a Celtic representation. It is on the Gundenstrup cauldron. There is a man with a deer antler on his head, holding a snake in his hand. The Siberian shamans were depicted with such a head, and I have also seen such a depiction in the Mezovskaya culture. We Hungarians call such a man TÁLTOS. Is he a druid in Celtic? In English it is called shaman. It is characterized by a stronger connection with the sky than other people! At 9:00.
Yes there is an ancient culture I would like World History Encyclopedia to discuss in a video. The Hyksos Pharaoh of the Nile delta region of Egypt. Avarice was one of their main city centres. They were expelled by the Amenist Pharaoh's in the south of Egypt around Thebes is a two stage EXODUS. Would be great to understand your perspectives on this culture and the very serious destabilisation they caused in Egypt together with how various groups of them went during and after the EXODUS process.
Nice information Kelly and video but you forgot that the Celts themselfs are very proud and they say that they come from Celtus son of Heracles and Celtine the daugther of Bretannus.
Any chance you can make a video of Ramses II and if there is any truth and historical evidence to him been the Egyptian king mentioned in the exodus ? Thanks
Information ... BUT ... it would be great if the cute little lecturer would be more voiceover and you could provide more video of the artifacts ... it's nice to see one side of a cauldron, but there is much to see that isn't shown.
Can you prove Ancient continental Celts and present Celtic Nations from British Isles and western France are linguistically same people? Where is the evidence?
@@WorldHistoryEncyclopedia Thanks for the answer. But Google search brings O /zero/ evidence regarding this question. There are thousands of hydronymes and toponymes in Europe attributed to be of Celtic origin and yes, they are Celtic, but can not be explained with the present Celtic languages, on the contrary these can quite easily be interpreted with Slavic languages. The answer is simple, ancient term Celts was a synonym of Slavs and it was only one name of that branch of Indo-European family. The preposterous paradigm of alleged VI th century AD appearance in Central Europe must be thrown into garbage basket once and for all. If you don't agree, you welcome to challenge my statement.
@@Lechoslaw8546 you are very wrong. We are able to trace back Brythonic or Goidelic words and also these place names to Proto-celtic. If we take Iria (also called Iria Flavia) which is a place name in Galicia, Spain, we can trace it back to the proto Celtic word φīweryu - meaning "fertile". The same word is also the ancestor of the Welsh word "Iwerddon" - which is the name for "Ireland". If you want another example within native slavic territory, The name "Danube" also comes from Proto-Celtic Dānowyos, which is the ancestor of the Welsh word "Donwy", another name for a river. If you want more examples I am willing to give them to you.
@@rocctheconlanger5239 First, I have nothing against Irish, Gaelic Scots,, Welsh, Bretons etc, they are fine people, more friendly to us than eg English, but they are not Celts in ancient understanding of that term. I is now a common knowledge that Celts from Europe and also from eastern and central England were a different people, some scientists call them Bell Beakers. They got into the British Isles through the Doggerbank which was still a part of European continent between present Belgium and England after last ice age. But who were they? Indoeuropeans for sure, but pundits stop short of calling them the real name, there is sufficient evidence to say it is just another name of Slavs. I can present this evidence.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xMqsBK8XeO0.html
@@Lechoslaw8546 im not saying that the people are Celts, I'm saying the languages they speak are celtic, and so were some of the languages on the continent. Also, the bell-beaker people were before the Indo-Europeans. The ice age was over by the time the Indo Europeans arrived.
