The bakery's advertising technique is brilliant. It got you inside, which you were not intending to do. A restaurant being around for 100 years is impressive in itself. The food looks really good. 👋 Tung! He's camera shy today.

Hilarious! I've never heard a recording like that at a bakery. You translated it pretty well. The sign you saw was for the newspaper with the prices. Lol...I think I can 5 more Chinese characters than I can. But, I still think you can speak Cantonese better than me. Bolo bao looked good. I need to try the pineapple bun with butter or the new trendy pork chop bolo bao sandwich. Dim sum place was interesting. It's so old, the Chinese writing is from right to left. Don't know if it was your camera or if I am hungry, but, the food looked really good! Too bad the cha su bao was not good, but, that is the chicken feet eaters opinion. Seemed a little pricey. Nice review of the two establishments.

Danny, how come you never dip the har gow in the sweet soy that comes with the beef rice noodles? That's what it's for! Just like it pops the cheung fun, it'll pop the har gow too. Growing up in NYC, I actually thought every Chinese person ate har gow that way. Ok, next har gow you eat, I want to see it dipped in sweet soy! 🙂And I think you prefer beef noodle rolls more than shrimp. I'm the opposite. I actually don't like and can't eat steamed beef. To each their own, right? Keep the videos coming! It's always a joy!
@dannythemedic

Har gow and Siu mi should be dip in mustard or hot sauce, the Cantonese in the 60 - 70's in Hong Kong and all over the World served at Dim Sum restaurant with mustard/hot sauce together look like Yin/Yang sign on the dish, so that they can charge for the tea and the sauce for small cost, but now they've service charge and wages for workers are more, so today one don't find anymore this sause till you demand for it.

I loved the rice rolls. According to your scale, they were a 9 for me. When I had it, it just melted in your mouth. It was ethereal. Best I had even when compared with the ones in Hong Kong. The rest of the dishes was just ok. Next time, just ask us Wilson is around. He's the owner.

Wow...I am glad I travel back and forth to Singapore and Malaysia every year where I get to experience real dim sum, not the US "converted" version dim sum served here....forgot how much Dim Sum cost now here in the US, you pay much less and food taste better over there and yes, I grew up in San Francisco and used to go out with the family every weekend to have dim sum so I know the difference between here in the US and there overseas...

Had Beef Chow Fun yesterday for the first time at a restaurant here in MA. After watching so many of your videos I had to try. Quite reasonably priced at $10.25. It was delicious. The beef was so tender, noodles perfectly cooked onions and bean sprouts perfectly cooked. Scallions were a little over cooked or maybe not that fresh. Sauce was flavorful, and well seasoned. Have to say it was a 9.5. You would have loved it.

Hi Danny, the Chinese words you mentioned were prices for Chinese newspaper 75c for mon- sat. 1.25 for Sundays.
@KC-newme
@KC-newme Год назад
Glad to see Nom Wah don’t automatically add the gratuity on the bill, and it starts from 15%. Not like many places now suggesting 18% or 20%, and sometimes it’s double charge😡 (their billing system will use the word Service, Tips then another line suggests gratuity 18%, 20%, 22%, so if you over looked, you’re paying more!)
@wilfredyim1323
@wilfredyim1323 Год назад
So three dollar for the tea is resonable than 10 - 15% service charge.

2023.08.18 Enjoyed your vlog. Nom-Wah (or Nam-Wah) pertains to southern China origin. One might encounter Wah-Nom (or Wah-Nam) where it might seem that we play around with these Chinese words. Yet Nom-Wah or Wah-Nom are both acceptable. We used to encounter Wah-Nam Commercial Bank in southeast asia (good Chinese financing connections). Your exposure to dim sum selections seemed limited. Nevertheless, in Hong Kong, the dim sum items would be served via bamboo baskets. However, in New York city, would Italian pizza or bread be more convenient or economical on a daily expenditure? Thank you, for a high resolution vlog. God bless.
