The way mojang frames it, it seems to me that no, the ancient city ISN’T supposed to be a late game structure at all, you say standing a chance against the warden but the thing is you’re never supposed to stand a chance against the warden, that’s the point, the ancient city is supposed to be an any-time structure because the one single threat is supposed to be no less of a threat late game
I like to think of how to fix this messed game, and love to see people sharing their thoughts, especially when they actually understand the problems. Looking forward to the next videos in the series!
yer not supposed to kill the warden, also nothing else *can* wake it up aside from the player(s) however my preferred strat is to blitzkrieg the city (set up a bunch of double chests on top of the portal structure, then fly down, break a chest to get all the items, then fly back up top and empty inventory; repeat until all chests are gone) if Mojang had implemented their "stone chests" idea then I wouldn't be able to do that also I can only do that with end-game gear as it requires an elytra, but I can still raid the place if I find it early game with a bunch of wool I think I prefer the city being completely empty to add to the existential threat, instead of being semi-inhabited; noice ideas tho
