Plymouth switcher engine, Percy, Thomas The Tank Engine, steam locomotive #89 and historic SW switcher locomotive #8618 at Strasburg Railroad in Ronks, Pennsylvania. Also shows freight service on the Strasburg RR. This video shows unloading covered hoppers at the yard. They have other freight service here and sometimes they use the steam locomotive in freight service. I am planning on going to Strasburg again this year with Millenniumforce and I still have unposted videos from there from last year. This video is just some of the shots from last June 21. That Plymouth reminds me of the little Brookville at Youngstown Steel Heritage where the J&L #58 is. Except that Rick Rowlands put a 302 V8 Ford engine into the Brookville, and running down the tracks it sounds like an old Mustang Mach 1, LOL!

that would be serious downsizing as the leroi V8s were over 2000 cubic inches displacement

@@tommurphy4307 Well, to be fair, he only ever hauls a couple of small narrow gauge ore cars filled with ballast with it though, or maybe a flatbed tool car. Their main power there being the restored Porter 0-4-0 #58 and I believe he's "restoring" one of its sister 0-4-0's but modifying it significantly. Just look him up on youtube.

Percy is obviously an unpowered unit - no smoke and no one in the cab. The SW9 is providing all the power. Thomas is powered. He is a conversion of a Plymouth 0-6-0T saddle tank engine, Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal #15. Many tourist railroads haul freight. It gives them additional revenue but it also means that they fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal FRA & STB. It helps protect them from too much interference from local politicians ala the Catskill Mountain Railroad.
