This is the Shovelhead engine I went over for the Guys over at Turner Customs. They installed it. It started right up, and with no miles or changes, it sounds like this.
The bike sounds better but yeah he has a voice for radio. Soothing? Naw, kinda’ weird but a great mechanic and my favorite, a cone Shovel; or maybe a Pan Shovel or a Pan or a Knuckle.....Flattie...
Pacific Mike great work bro! Our son was killed on his 06 Deuce this past July when some careless driver turned left in front of him! Now I would like to find a reputable shop to help rebuild his bike! Thanks for sharing bro!
Turner Customs did a GREAT job on the restoration, very clean. There's just something about a Shovel with straight drags.........that sound reminds me of my younger days..!

I am so tempted to buy a Harley just for the pleasure of listening to the engine idle. My '70 Norton sounds almost like this but there is never any substitute for cubes. Always remember going for a demo ride on a 1340 back in the early 90's. Wanted to buy that machine so bad but they told me I had to wait one year.

In my own opinion the ironheads always had the best sound. More of a sweet gallop then the big twins. I think it has something to do with the 4 cam design as opposed to single cam.
Now that sounds like a Harley supposed to sound. Myself, I'd put an old style fat bob tank on. I even like the paint color, and all the bright work. Looks good, sounds goog , and no doubt it rides good. An outstanding build.
Great to see.. and hear the Shovelhead running. Gorgeous motor in a very Kool rebuilt superglide. I too want to build/restore a shovelhead ... hopefully a 1969, either that or an early 70s. .. but preferably a 1969 ... great year that, even if I only saw 9 days of it. Haha. So Sweet a Sound! I get to hear this sound because I still ride (occasionally) my '72 Super Glide-I bought it in '72. It's about 98% factory stock. Around '76 I changed it's stock ugly stovepipe muffler & years later added a new carb and a master cylinder. I only wish it had an electric starter. It has always been a beast to start on these cold days and more difficult now with my knee replacement :( -- Very nice vid - thanks.
Beautiful. I had 75 fxe sg shovelhead. Now, I have 82 fx wg. I love shovelheads. Nice that he is restoring his deceased brother's bike. Great way to pay tribute.

I have a bike like that. Got it home and found out it wasn't a true Harley Superglide.. But it has Delkron cases and some other goodies. Gonna put it together and ride it. Always nice to see a rally good running machine.

You bet. It's a great reward. And the more of them you have out there, well, it's a legacy of sorts. I'm silly enough to think I'll be able to hear the bikes after I"m gone.
Lovely lovely all being well I will have to get another harley this year love shovelheads and panhead which is my favourite but I love the 103 heritage that I have the pleasure to own lovely bike regards Alan from the UK

one of the best motors there is. keep up the awesome work Mike. I got my bike from my step dad when he passed. there is an issue with thr charging system. I really want to get it running.
@@pacificmike9501 I've never been tought much about bike motors, my dad used to have a shop when I was a kid but I was young when he passed. I mean i know the basics but not much beyond that. I've learned a little watching videos but I'm more of a hands on kinda guy. I'm mechanically inclined so I shouldn't have too much of an issue plus I know people lol. Grew up on bikes, I currently have a 04 Yamaha 650 custom. Not a bad little bike.
My dad had a 73 FX, I currently ride a 81 FXEF. That's a gorgeous bike, thanks for helping to preserve it and letting us hear it. Really enjoy your channel, Mike, keep up the good work!

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I love a simple, non-flashy, brown paint job. I swear if I had the money for an old 911, I'd want it in single-stage BROWN.
