Worth noting: the male lead Yinfan is actually an interesting character -- sense of humor, arrogance, indifference façade hiding recklessness, thinks the rules don't apply to him, etc. And the two leading actors are not terrible in their roles. With a better script, we could be looking at something completely different. All being said, my notes only cover the first 10 episodes. If, after ep 10, the drama turns out to be a masterpiece of character and plot, definitely let me know.
To be honest, I'm tired of romantic teacher-student relationship in C-dramas at this point. The only pure teacher-student relationship that moved me this year is in The Blood of Youth. The student (Wuxin) is the target of hatred of everyone because his father killed a lots of people. The teacher was the only one who took Wuxin in under his wing, protected him and guided him on how to live a better life than seeking vengeance. The farewell scene has me in tears. This is the kind of relationship that I want to see more of on-screen and not the same old forbidden love.
As always enjoyed your commentary. And wow..... This girl is really annoying. An adult women acting like a spoiled child is not attractive to the audiences. Charector like these, I try to avoid.
@@mohamedahmed-mr8ne You can try Rise of Phoenixes, Love Like the Galaxy, or anything based on Louis Cha's works. The Long Ballad is also watchable, though there are some flaws along the way.
Omg I don’t get what’s the appeal with those childish characters and romance with them. It’s ok if their love interest is also silly or young like them. But when it’s parent like role it’s bruh
I think you are right about her being a pet more than a child part. At least with a child, you should be working with social boundaries. Always a joy to listen to your videos. ;D
I haven't watched a cdrama for a long time & this is one of my reasons. I hate how they make these characters "overtly childish/annoying" for no reason, and how they expect us the viewers to interpret it as "cute"🙄
Kudos to you for actually making it to ten episodes! I clocked out around ep 4 or 5, I think. Say what you will about Bai Zi Hua (and I can still say A LOT about him) but at least the man tried to teach Qian Gu! Really enjoyed this video :D always interesting to hear your thoughts!
@@_kpoplicious Lost You Forever has a mostly logical storyline and characters that have motivations other than just being love-sick idiots. The FL isn't a blusing stupid kid and all the 3 ML are problematic. But there is an actual plot underneath all the hurt and pain It kept making me think "I wish they had just left the FL be a peaceful medic in the small village" LOL (we wouldn't have a story) Warning: It has 2 seasons and only one has been aired yet The lotus casebook has become my favourite after Word of Honour I must confess
It's okay when characters are a little bit childish at first if it's reasonable thou, for example because of their background. I like watching their development process through the series and Xiao Lanhua and Fengjiu definitely did grow up and... tbh these two are ones of my favourite characters 😀😀 As usual, thank you for you review! An it was nice to see Bai Zihua again XDD
Highly recommend Faithful, if you haven't started it already. It's a period revenge drama, has some suspense and thrill. It has great visuals and acting and the fact that there's no romance is refreshing. 👌🏽
I just want to say i love you so much and every time I tried watching your video during the work hours, I always ended up having to pause and took a deep breathe to collect myself😂😂 You're just so awesome!!!
