You are correct on this whole thing. It's interesting how this vid came to me as synchronicity connected to two extremes currently happening in my life, needing the very approach which I do often, I love surpassing the extremes to the point of them no longer holding bounds within me but rather me holding the two of them as the unifying factor which is no longer limiting. I hope I'll make the right decisions seeing as this video was a sign I must reflect more on this issue going on. Love your videos, it's like someone is finally giving me the right point of view in advice. ❤️

Totally agree with this. For myself, pushing myself to the extremes has been an essential aspect of my own path of understanding and self evolution. However, the extremes are not somewhere to live for too long. Important to pull back from them, try another extreme in another direction, and take plenty of breaks, chill out and relax without pushing yourself too much. Otherwise sticking to the extremes, especially the same one can turn into a practice of self-denial and ultimately self-delusion. As always, balance is key.

I've realized that I used to identify with my pain. When ever it came I thought that it should not exist, so I would focus much of my attention on resisting it. I am now able to observe and accept pain, joy or any other feelings simultaneously.

This is basically why I love Alice in Wonderland. She's in an extremely insane/nonsense world and she tries to be the other, completely logical extreme, and in the end realizes that there's no point to that in an insane world, so she kind of finds the middle ground and sometimes plays along or finds an insane way to be sane, a nonsense way to achieve logic in that world.

Being able to hold contradictory point of view without being attached to them has been extremely liberating for me. Adopting belief systems without attachment also helps me in processing information. For example some information is hard to process within the confines of the current scientific method paradigm, so why not just adopt some other system for moment. Belief does not equal truth, however being able use systems of belief ´only´ as tools, is huge!!
@Master_Therion
@Master_Therion 8 лет назад
+Patrick Brown Agreed! Belief system, perspective, reality-tunnel or whatever your want to call it should be fluid and changeable. To quote Star Wars Obi Wan: So what I told you was true, from a certain point of view. Luke: A certain point of view? Obi-Wan: Luke, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

I used to watch all of your videos. For a long time I didn't watch your videos. Today was a very weird day weird in a good and bad ways but overall I feel incredibly focused even though I didn't get everything the way I wanted it to be. Now it's end of this day and I feel very present inside. Above all that's happening around me. I just clicked on this video and I instantly feel like I used to feel when I was watching your videos the first time, especially while high on weed. It is profound. Hearing your voice is profound, seeing your face is profound your message will be profound although I have yet no idea what is "AND consciousness". Today I wanted to smoke weed but I didn't get to it somehow. Now I understand why. I got something else that I wanted. I understand why. I feel satisfied and ego-less. I understand why. I'm writing this down. I don't know why. But I know that you will read it. And I want to say thank you for everything you've done for me because this incredibly profound moment that is happening right now is also possible thanks to your guidance. My ego-riddled, self-defensive, victim mentality behavior has changed tremendously numerous times since I know your videos, and that made me to arrive at this point. I feel like I am losing something precious. I almost feel as if I was saying goodbye forever, to someone I love. It's a goodbye to my old life that I love because it will never stop being a part of me. It's a hello to my new life because that's a pleasing mystery. Right now I am very receptive and I instantly felt the incredible energy coming off of you the moment I clicked on this video. This very moment was supposed to happen right now, right here, exactly how it is. I am not happy, I am not sad, I am not angry, I am not joyful. I am thankful and in complete peace. I don't even want to stop writing this that's how beautiful is this moment. When I finish it, I'm going to meditate. I just closed my eyes for a second and I feel like I was already meditating for months. It's not even a comfort. It's a complete alignment of everything I ever was, and ever will be. This is so profound that I feel like I was on drugs, even though I am completely sober. I feel warm going through my spine and limbs. I see it all clearly. Life is incredibly beautiful experience. Thank you a trillion times. I love you as much as I possibly can Teal. I love everyone. I love myself.

While this video was rather good, I'm not sure you understand The Middle Way completely. The idea that it is about moderation is not quite right. Any Buddhist will tell you that someone on the path need not limit themselves or do away with certain things, its the mental attitude in which we approach objects that creates suffering. The attachment. The Middle Way is about being free from attachment by slowly or suddenly realizing there is, in fact, no self to attach to things anyway. The illusion of self, and its accompanying desires and aversions, are the root of suffering. That is the Middle Way. Not moderation.
@08Stella
@08Stella 8 лет назад
+Greg D'Orazio That's exactly what she said. Have you listened to the whole video? *Middle Path* is finding balance through moderation. Moderation is the embodyment of the practice of None-Attachement. Balance arose as the result of expending far enough to be able to hold two extremes.... x

+Timothy Ⓥ On a daily basis, I have to remind myself that there is no road map to happiness. In this life we are constantly chasing happiness through external things to fill an inexplicable void shared by mostly everyone on this planet. Whether it's seeking happiness in another person, money, external possessions or positions in our careers etc; we seem to be on a constant wheel of chasing pleasure & avoiding pain. On this journey I have come to learn that happiness is an inside job, which requires nothing in the external world to make it a reality. Through awareness & meditation, we begin to live life in the present moment, which fills this void with the power of something much greater & Higher than anything the outer world could ever do. This inner peace is the only true stability we have in our lives & should be the place we reside on daily basis. All physical things perish but the Soul is forever. a quote from OneMind on facebook

you fail to see the middle path is both extremes, it's not about moderation it's about exploration through limitation of attachment not expression. and conciousness imo sounds like a watered down version of what the Buddha intended. for attainment of enlightenment you will not reach it by expanding large enough to hold both extremes, it's about centering yourself between the extremes. when you look at it through perspective when you expand yourself to hold both extremes you have to look inward to see both extremes, when you center yourself between them you have to look outward past yourself to see those extremes instead. think of it like a circle, if you do it your way your are traveling to the edge of the circle to see the circle, when your really should go to the middle of the circle to see it all.

By removing resistance,you allow expansion where by both extremes can exist. In other words you don't know what you do want unless you know what you don't want. But by removing the resistance you allow expansion of what you do want. Hope that helps.

Wow! this is exactly what I was struggling with today. Confused between some "higher dimensions" of consciousness and the things I could experience there, but then a more "earth" perspective, which I was resisting because I was scared of not having more of those "magical moments" (which I guess is coming from the ego) or just wandering if those were not just delusions because being in that lower perspective you don't have access really to those states and some don't even really make sense… So I was very confused trying to figure out what was true and what was not… But maybe is that both are real? … (haha this may sound weird :/)

This is by far, the most valuable video of the series of video courses you offered here, on this channel. Still, this requires lots of fine-tunning. Actually, this is the Fourth Path to Perfection, the Second Level. Buddha, offered the First Level, as you exquisitely stated in this video. You called it "Moderation Path" Actually it is the "Balance Path", where the variable you play with, is the average deviation from the Balance Point: Small deviations in both polarities, lead to a slow but steady change. As a result, the Inner Growth expands. This Path, was suited for the context Siddartha came into, although it seemed to be extremely taugh, at the time. Given the rate of change today, this Path is now "too slow", so to speak. The Second Level, IS exactely what you described here: Extending the average to the next level of magnitude. This allows a way faster growth, but requires a way higher level of resilience, thus, a higher level of INNER INTEGRATION. Since you already provided all the necessary tools in those videos, I belive it is DOABLE. All it takes is ..."Do it!" Or (AND? :D ) "Make it happen!" (I like best the second...). This is the expresision of the Fundamental Principles of the Universe, the so called "Hermetic Principles", namely, "The Pendulum Principle". Scientists, in chemistry, call it "The Le Chatelier Principle". It's anyway "La meme Jeanette, autrement coiffee" - The same Jeannie, different hairstiled. In România, we say "The same Mary, with a different hat". ("Aceeaşi Mărie, cu altă pălărie"). ;) May the Light be IN you! Or, better: BE the Light! (It's slightly different... Another level of INTENSITY of the Light, just like above...)

Thank you beautiful soul. To become genuinely and authentically one's own self, upon the middle path, is one of the most rewardin, beautiful experiences one could journey. The middle path is seldom tread, which makes it a lonely path. Lonely, yet, the most rewardin journey one can take. I am very thankful and grateful to tread the middle path upon this incarnation. You are correct Teal, Buddha did want his followers to find the middle way, however, as in many spiritual path teachins, one must find that path by themselves. The greatest masters know that they can only show you the doors, only you can open and walk through them to a better existence for yourself. Thanx Teal, for droppin this most potent seed into the subconscious minds of so many, ready for their awakenin. Many blessins upon all of our paths. Great vid, as Alan Watts has often said, we need to experience the extremes, polar opposites so that we can know the middle way? In Hermann Hesse's account of Siddhartha, does he not start as the Brahmin's son and then embark on an adventure of night and day experiences. To limit or hide from the extremes will only surely lead to a lack of understanding. To know the middle way, you need to know the edges first. Love your stuff Teal.

Every moment of the day you can concentrate on one thing. You are doing ten-thousands of other things, and that is what the subconscious is for. When you feel pain, your subconscious is trying to be corrected. You must then bring it to your conscious awareness and create a new and improved subconscious task to replace the old one with. Or so I think. --|-Naga-HH

This is all well and good, but what does it actually mean? How exactly does one 'expand to accommodate both extremes'? Is that like being both extremely happy and extremely sad at the same time? Or being an extremely evil and extremely good person at the same time? Seems incoherent to me.
@linyenchin6773
@linyenchin6773 8 лет назад
Truth is singular, there is no such thing as "truths", at least outside of it being a term of linguistic incompetence, one devised and employed by those who "consciously" or "subconsciously" refuse Infinity as Reality~Truth. Though it's general position can be discerned, Reality aka Truth is Infinite and the "middle path". Though of fixed position(within Reality~Truth), "the middle path"is indefinable to anything but itself, it can not be fully grasped for it is the epicenter of that which neither begins nor ends (though it is the beginning and end of all else, the 'finite').-Know that all which begins must end and that these things, even central things like your mind and sense of self~individuality are but the shadows rather than the fullness of Truth. Change, in any and every form, is only activity, activity is finite(mind, energy, life, etc) though innately perpetuated toward attempts of fully embrace the Infinite. The fullest embrace of the Infinite, that, in contrast to the finite, is stillness. This stillness being a void or nullification to all contrast, all motion~energy or activity. Know that in your observation of what is written here, your state of "belief"~understanding is entirely reflective of your maturity. Truth however is not a reflection of anyone's maturity, it is not divisible, not plural, the "myriad things" are not "truths" but they are Truth's(for all belong to Truth~Infinity).

I want to reach to out to those of you out there that follow this path of spirituality. I personally agree with Teal that expanding yourself to exist in polar opposites is the only way to evolve to the next level. However, for years I've been in this practice, not really by choice, but just because I can't live any other way, I've found my social life to diminish to almost nothing. I have lost so many friends in the last few years to this spiritual path. Almost everyone I meet is stuck in one extreme or another, in fact all of society operates at this level. Politics, religion, science, race, gender, they all have a polarized status quo. I do see some progress, though, but that is the only thing keeping me in corporeal form, otherwise I much prefer nonphysical states like dreams, meditation, psychedelics, etc. . . Anyone else have this issue?
@gloriamariadc7757
@gloriamariadc7757 7 лет назад
FlezzDurjis agreed. It's isolating & mentally emotionally feels unhealthy,.. but when I center, I then notice,.. 'ahhh,.. I'm being given a chance to see (feel) how so many people feel.' Then, suddenly my alONE-ness, becomes this telepathic or ethereal connection to every person in the world that feels this way (alone), & instead of feeling alone I feel deep compassion for humanity around the world. (Sorry if this sounds cheesy in any way). 🙏🏻. It still sucks.. but what I describe is def the upside of the isolation feeling. (I feel my vulnerability & realize others must feel the same. & I realize we'r all feeling alONE in our separate homes; around the world.)
@FlezzDurjis
@FlezzDurjis 7 лет назад
I can relate very much to this and you're right, it is the upside to this circumstance. The isolation is only on one level, ultimately I experience connectedness no matter what as a result of taking this path, which is nice.

i couldn't have said that better! i am so grateful that i found Teal Swan on RU-vid. I started this life-long journey of discovering spirituality at age 17 when i was introduced to and studied "A Course in Miracles", then i found and studied the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Copra, (The author of The Four Agreements- Toltec wisdom- can't remember his name) and Abraham Hicks to name a few. But Teal has this wonderful ability to draw you right in with her soft, calming voice, and her surprisingly simple and articulate approach to teaching. Initially it's a lot to comprehend but once a foundation has been built-in my opinion-these concepts and ideas start to 'gel' almost like putting the final pieces of a cosmic jigsaw puzzle into place. OK, that last sentence was a bit cornball, but...yea...there ya have it! 💕

The Universe first introduced me to 'And' consciousness with that girl on the El Paso commercial: "Porque no las dos?" Being a Gemini and learning early on about the Buddha's teaching of the Middle Way helped prepare me for And Consciousness... I always felt like there had to be something better than the Middle Way, which was about moderation, which I also learned from Apollo, I think... And moderation is a good helpful thing to learn. But I wanted something MORE... I crave expansion too... Instead of refraining from either polarity, or even yet staying in the balanced but boring middle, PORQUE NO LAS DOS?? :D Above the middle way is the rod that holds the scales of both. Both is good. *nods*

Buddha said that there are two truths, ultimate truth and conventional truth. Conventional truth speak to the truth of the gross, formed world. Conventional truths are non-truths, however, as they are a product of our self-grasping ignorance, believing in inherent, dualistic existence. Ultimate truth is the truth that speaks to emptiness, non-inherent, non-dualistic existence. My understanding is that the "middle way" speaks to the art of navigating conventional truths with the realization that the true nature of reality is emptiness. Perhaps this angle of the "middle way" helps with any feelings of being constrained by moderation.

5:14… “We are neither extreme, because we are both extremes“(and therefore come to identify with neither extreme). But in my opinion, that is what I call a “dual-extremist”, with lack of identity with the degrees in between = “the middle way“ = “moderation“. Perhaps better might be “we are both extremes, and all degrees in between”. This, to me, is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, AND “the way“ between the extremes. But if these extremes are linear, then they are polarized. But if these extremes are at the “ends”(AND “beginnings”) of a circle, then they are fused together as one, as well as the rest of the circle (the way in between), and also all the space inside the circle.Though I do admit to the conundrum as regarding all the space outside the circle.

Like live in a state where I encourage and enjoy experiencing extremes in creative expression not to limit myself in any way and enjoy all things within the safety of not being stuck in and identified with any one way of perceiving something where I am lost in it and therefore less conscious... Thank you Teal Swan I think this is the way for the creative soul the one's who don't want to stop or slow down their own individual exploration of physical existence :)

...you are beautiful... ...When extremes merge they then coexist in the balanced center...surrounded by infinitely expanding realms of possibilities...that when explored and understood, become one's reality....which can only be defined by your "SOUL"... ONCE MIND, CONSCIOUSNESS, IS THEN INTEGRATED WITH SOUL,...A STATE OF "UNITY" IS ATTAINED.... THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL YOU BE IMPRISONED BY THE CHAINS OF EVERLASTING FREEDOM...🎇🎆🎊...

Yes. AND Consciousness is embodied in the principles and practice of the Yin-Yang (describing the relationships between opposites, primarily inter-transformation and complementarity). Essentially an ancient Daoist framework for integrating contradictory perceptions under the same roof.

You are brilliant Madam! Just wonder how would you tackle the concept of Consciousness with Quantum Physics. I just saw John Hagdin, quantum physicist did in RU-vid lecture under; "Quantum Physics Confirms: Consciousness Creates Reality". Wonder about your taking on it. He did a couple charming poetic maneuvers to explain a crucial points, but a little to quite:) I am trying to recall your titles regarding Consciousness, but cant pin point the comparison to Quantum Physics perspective. With universal love REH :) (aturu2008 yes at g).

What I got from this video is that Middle Path (Moderation) + END Consciousness (Expanding to encompass extremes) = Nonattachment (To Choose Frequency).

'Moderation' calmed me down. Question is should we be authentic, or adjustable (to our own selves ? )? Should we be authentic or super spirited? ... This is hard anyway. .. This is exactly what you're doing, that is why you seem contradictory to many, because you support yourself to the degree to be all extremes of yourself. I wish I was that supportive of myself :)) I wish we would all let ourselves be all we are. Then, moderation comes naturally... You 'Unifying factor...' you , beautiful concept.

I get confused. I'm not a prince or a popper, I define myself as something in between. But what confuses me is the EGO. 'Cause aren't I suppose to like "get over it" or whatever? If I (my Ego) orient myself between two extremes, then should I (my Ego) not "get over" my balancing point? Or what I consider my balancing point to be? Like, just let myself lose balance and not worry, flowing like water over a fall? Its hard to balance all the time.

Teal, I am so glad that you are seeing this....as a matter of fact, Buddha's Sangha often called him " Tathagata" which in terms of the main tenent of your spiritual teaching would be stated as something like this:Not just lightNot just darkNo light and darkNot neither light nor dark The words " Middle Way" are quite probably a poor translation from Pali, if you notice, the concept of Tathagata is very similar to the Law of Superposition in quantum mechanics. This IS how things actually are, regardless of positive focus or negative focus....just as it is, and thankfully.

If everyone tuned their instrument's continually in that fashion we wouldn't have the glorious genre called Djent, lol! As far as tuning my personal instrument goes, it's been a life of extreme's so finding space has always been a priority. Balance is a mean. Where's the fun in never deviating from that mean (jump out of a plane or something like I did for my sixteenth birthday)? Always good to see you again, especially with the more natural look ;-) Go hit a black run (if I judged the background correctly, wasn't really looking at that much).

"any kind of limitation or moderation is a direct affront to the concept of expansion". Yet being able to hold AND consciousness is indeed the ultimate form of moderation. The issue is when people seek first balance and moderation, it doesn't allow them to pick up the weights of life and move with them. You must be moved by the divine within and moderation and balance are the byproducts. For the body can not move without being willing to put oneself out of centre, yet it is the willingness to gain momentum that brings about a natural balance and moderation in ones gait. I like watching runway models like Shalom Harlow move on the runway, in all her eccentricity. If you pause her at any extreme in her stride left to right, you'd be sure she is about to fall. Yet her eccentric gait is upheld and moderated through her momentum. I believe she is empowered from within to her own eccentric spark of the divine that allows the madness of her gait to appear so poised and rapturing.

I wonder if this is what's happened to me a few times when in a discussion. I started becoming less and less attached as I listened to the other part's arguments, while being also conscious of mine. I didn't react to their anger. I was calm, in a state of pure receptivity. This made them even more angry, one of the times, but I brought solutions to the table and assured them that I was listening to what they were saying. It was very interesting, not only my own experience, but seeing what anger looks like when watched from a totally detached position. I could see every intention, every reason, every hurt.

This is why true Realizers often demonstrate extreme opposites and simultaneous non attachment. In this they are usually misunderstood as being immoral. In truth they are demonstrating what is known in the East as"Crazy Wisdom". My own Guru Adi Da Samraj in the early days of his teaching work, would call for a party period and party for weeks with us and outdrink and outsmoke and out dance us. Then suddenly he would call for all the usual disciplines to be enacted and we would ast least switch to a raw vegan diet and or fast. He fasted on diluted juice for sixty days. We learned that both partying and purification were difficult but it was possible to be happy in either case.

Does not make sense. Interesting philosophic concept, but i dont see any way, how to use it in everyday life. Unless you are Schrödinger's cat, which can be dead and alive in the same time. When you are going down the street, which suddenly splits into two streets, you must decide which "extreme" you choose. Left or right? Third option is, that you stay stuck there. The same thing is, when you can stay with your partner or leave him. There is no third options between these two extremes. It doesn't like this AND Consciousness theory would work in common life, out of some buddhistic temple in Himalaya mountines.

"Let's consider Buddha had that in mind all along" Umm... Let me just tell ya right here, that's exactly what he had in mind, this is present in just about every advanced teaching like Taoteching , Hermetica and so on could probably find at least 30, these two just come to mind, for sure Kybalion tattoo you have on hand would lead you to the principle of polarity as well which is the same thing all over again. This is nothing new and a lot of people can discover this without reading any books.

Excellent insight. Life is eternal. Buddha described this ever-expanding nature of life in the Immeasurable Meaning Sutra, intro to the 3-fold Lotus Sutra, usung negative phrases as ... neither existing nor nonexisting; Without cause or condition, Without self or others; Neither square nor round, Neither short nor long; Without appearance or disappearance, Without birth or death; Neither created nor emanating, Neither made nor produced; Neither sitting nor lying, Neither walking nor stopping; Neither moving nor rolling, Neither calm nor quiet; Without advance or retreat, Without safety or danger; Without right or wrong, Without merit or demerit; Neither that nor this, Neither going nor coming; Neither blue nor yellow, Neither red nor white; Neither crimson nor purple, Without a variety of color.

Ah, what about the concept of dominance/submission of diametrics, where a person accepts both sides but allows one of them to dominate and the other one is like a servant? ie. Ego vs Higher self....where you embrace both sides of yourself but the ideal balance is when the Higher self controls the Ego, not the other way around.

Pain is elastic, like a rubber band. It pulls you, and you draw into the negativity and the hate. Then, before your breaking point, you let go. You feel yourself freefalling into the truth of all that you are. It's scary, but it relieves you when you feel the joy of having made choice that is the best of you and the best for you. Or so I think. --|-Nnhn.

Thanks Teal this exactly what l do when l seek balance .. l swing first... l need to go into deep extremes and experience them fully, leaving the fear of them manifesting if l give them energy because somehow l know the opposite feelings about the same subject will soon add to the picture of what is now... AND councious now... BTW you got sick stubborn thick minds going after you with such hatred on youtube videos l admire you even more... l tried to comment and communicate ....And they lynched me in the name of reason and common sense.... long way to go swinging on the balance...

Does anyone else feel like shes taking the words out of your mind? Every concept of perspective she has discussed I already feel well adapted to. Actually to be honest, ive been this way the entire time.... Everything shes teaching me is how i already am and have always been... If i wasnt raised spiritual, yet feel every connection to it now as if i designed it myself. What does this mean? Why do i feel like I was meant to be part of this movement... I feel like i have to save the world.... This doesnt scare me.... But theres so many questions and people keep talking in riddles.. Except her ^^^

How can we apply this to our decisions/approach to different situations? I always find myself torn between polar opposites, whether it's deciding between beer and herbal tea or between a disciplinarian approach to spirituality and a more laid back do-what-i-feel-like kind of approach. If I'm aware that either option can work, how do I decide what's actually the best option in a given situation? I tend to chase myself round in circles over these things! Maybe I've just completely clouded my instinct through being up in my brain all the time...

As an professional artist I've learned that people, "like what they know". They often don't get how much they like what they know so they are often just lost to learning to like something new. Though knowing how ridged social beliefs are I see people as living in fear of not being good (which is often just concept not necessarily true or understood), people become afraid of liking something new out of fear of social ridicule that's it becomes very hard to accept something that's different if others might reject you for it....Look at how fashion trends keep reinventing themselves, all these trends are things that people already know, there's just a slightly new aspect to it when it comes around a second time, or is it the third time. That's a good measuring stick to how little people accept something new and often it seems that people just want to like the things that get them to be liked, as it entitles them to be experts of liking but also of not liking (word to contrast). So strange to me, the concept of preferences. The fear keeps people from being individuals, as the more individual you are the less you have to identify with others. The concept of AND Consciousness, liking extremes... seems like it's just asking people to like something new... give up the power of being the person that likes things that everybody else likes... I like that. It can teach you about how much fear we live with on a moment to moment basis when you see people around you have to decide something new, vs something they would expect.

If we r living inside another Whole, that explains why most people tend to be one extreme. we complete each other. Few people almost find the balance. Balance is the key! But the imperfect is perfectly perfect! lol,soooo confusing!But remember, once you know, then practice, and forget about everything you know, so it becomes your second nature. Relax😂

So if the middleway is a harmonious balance (keeping the strings not too tight or too loose), then would it be sensical to infer that there can be a medley of middleways, the same way one can tune an instrument, a guitar for example, to many different tuning and thus make music emote and voice differently. A Drop C# attuned life, if you will? Or am I just taking this metaphor too literally lol

MC Escher had this one figured out :] ... also, perhaps this is why we test our limits, to find out how far is too far, then bring things back into balance. In that way we expand out capacity for life experience. We keep that parts that work, learn from the ones that don't and arrive at a new developmental stage of integration.
@tiaturnbullchampionscoachi9587
I Love this idea. My parents polarized themselves with each valuing a different extreme. I was diagnosed 5150 30 years ago when my programming was unliveable for living outside my family home. I am very curipus and analytical and as soon as possible I was researching to understand what happened in order to help others who had similar experiences. I can now hold opposing ideas with the ability to see them as equal in value. This idea to me is like how Abraham speaks of holding the stick that has opposite ends of the same thing. Its all one. Expansiveness is inclusive. Thank you for this idea.

The moderation of "the middle way" is more about allowing yourself to live life , so you can be free to explore a spiritual path without having your focus pulled away by a physical need like hunger...I do not think these two ideas are replacements for each other if anything they are complementary. When we are fulfilled in life we can encompass larger ideas. The truth is always in the combination of opposing ideas.

I have just one thing to say about this video and the Buddha's middle path. To fully experience life take big bites - moderation is for monks. I'm not ready to push it as far as master Jesus did in his lifetime, but I might jump out of an airplane or two.
