This so much, I hate how much of a passive character Harry Potter is. Even by the end of the HP books Harry tried to change nothing ex the other races are still treated as lesser than wizards and are not allowed to become wizards, the muggles are still looked down upon, the torture prison still exists and the Ministry is still corrupt Meanwhile chad Percy actually fought against the Gods to make sure that the Demi Gods were treated better, he actively tried to change bad things and takes a stand and isn't afraid to throw hands
I loved the book growing up and Walker Scobell who plays Percy perfectly encapsulates the character from the book. He's funny and sassy. Although they change a bit of his character from the book, he still feels so much like him. They did a great job casting him. You might want to check his other project his 1st acting role 'The Adam Project' which came out in 2022. This series is only his 3rd entry in his Filmography. Fun fact: According to the author/producer Rick Riordan, Walker got so good at sword fighting that he had to scale back during the fight scene to look inexperienced.

People have been FREAKING OUT because they cast a black girl to play Annabeth. But like if you read the books, this young lady IS Annabeth. She plays the part flawlessly.
Nah, in the books Annabeth was A tall blonde with misty gray eyes, and Percy was an average height kid with black hair and green eyes while grover was as tall as Annabeth and had some beard hair with a beanie hat while luke a was a blonde with blue eyes and Chyron has a white horse half while Clarisse was a buffy girl with freckles, they really didn't get a very good cast but still, I'm not disappointed.
She plays the part well (for a child actor anyway), most of the cast don't really look anything like they are supposed to and they don't even try with like wigs and makeup and such. I can understand being wary of changes considering how shafted these types of adaptation get when 9/10 its a simple matter of following the plot.

@@Blackcloverbeliever. Well yeah, but appearance has nothing to do with how well a person can act. They got a fantastic cast because each person they got embodies the character they're portraying. Which is the most important part.
Mr. D was punished because he was uhhh “frolicking or chasing” a nymph. His punishment was be stuck at camps for a very long time and can’t drink liquor. He’s the god of wine and parties amongst other things Clarice, she is a kid of Ares and that spear was given to her from him. So she’s upset about that. She is also a little miffed about Percy but I wont say much about her incase she talk more about her later this season or next, if we get one. The kids at camp can relate to Percy. Like Luke. You can tell he’s been through somethings. That’s why he is sorry. They all have the same problems. Annabeth is very strategic and smart because her mom is the goddess of war strategy, wisdom and architecture. She and her brothers/sisters think differently. Won’t say more just for spoilers. Loving the reactions so far!
It's pretty rad watching ya'll go through this with minimal prior knowledge. Usually I'd give fun background information or mention stuff that provides context for whats going on, but the season isnt over yet and i dont know what they are or aren't going to include, so Im gonna hold off for now to avoid any potential spoilers.
Love the praises to the kids. They really are well casted specially the trio. They really nailed the characters of each of them and even in real life they embody their character (specially Percy's actor, Walker Scobbell). Their born for their roles. Each of them is just overflowing with talent and I'm so excited for them to grow with their characters. They'll just get better from here. You guys earned a subscribe from me. Same. I was also hoping for the scene where Chiron tells percy to throw the pen and it returns in his pocket. Despite that, I'm too busy fanboying to really criticize.
Some changes that have no chance of being spoiler The beginning conversation with Dionysus was different and Percy figured put who he was on his own Also Percy in the book "got over" his mom's alleged death because since he now knows about Greek gods existing, he knows the underworld too and was planning on bringing her back A grand majority of the cast looks very different appearance wise from their book counterpart. Most notebly Clarrise but it makes the most sense for her as Clarisse was around Percy age in the books but has no much muscle she looks like she took roids from birth. Percy in the books stayed at camp for quite a few days/weeks before capture the flag. The training was more extended. For example he went to one of Luke's classes on swordsmanship. After a water break, Percy poured some water in his head and got a tem boost that allowed him to disarm look while making a demo Also when Percy first walked into the Hermes cabin there was barely any space. Due to a part of Hermes domain being the god of travellers, all unclaimed children are sent there since other gods don't sponser travellers and are too proud. His space was on the floor and so small he could barely sit. Annabeth is also the one that shows Percy around camp And when he was going to get a swirly was there trying to stop clarrise and got hit with friendly fire toilter water Annabeth also came off nicer in the book due to it showing her intelligence better rather than saying she is. And her strategy also was more detailed Annabeth was coping about Percy's godly parent. Annabeth, Chiron, Dionysus, and Grover knew that Percy was a child of the big 3 gods. Her mother Athena and Poseidon have thousands of years of beef. Annabeth hoped it was a child of Zeus or Hades instead. Was likely coping by thinking Percy controlled water as if it were rain which is Zeus domain. And also the camp has a barrier that prevents monster from getting in. During capture the flag he got attacked by a hellhound, creature of underworld. And final big change is that the reveal is a bit more epic as Chiron made everyone hail Perseus Jackson when he was claimed
