This subculture, which today is the world’s largest, was born on the terraces of Italian football stadiums. Funny personal story with this video: as former steward who operated at the Brescia stadium for many and many years, seeing myself portrayed in this documentary at 26:00 around time, allowing Curva Sud's Ospiti (guest team) entering and enjoying their game, is an astonishing surprise. Going to share this video with many people of my 12 years ago's team :) Fun to see the typical assembly of Ultras from other teams gathering at Mercato Ortofrutticolo di Brescia, just out of Brescia Ovest exit of the A4 highway. So typical, haha Thanks so much @copa90 - amazing work brought back to life and broader audience

"The fight between Pompeians and Nocerini was a tumult that occurred in Pompeii in the year 59 and is also documented by a painting on a plebeian house in the excavations of Pompeii, now preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. Tacitus recalls how in that year, during a gladiator show in the Pompeii amphitheater, some disagreements began between the inhabitants of Pompeii and those of Nuceria Constantia. During the games, from injuries we passed to stones and then to weapons. At the end of the riots the Pompeians prevailed, while the Nocerini were the most damaged, and many of them were killed or returned home injured" we ultras since ancient times

Great material, but as an Italian I can safely recognize (cars, clubs, age of el Bocia ecc.ecc.) this was shot in the late 90s, maybe trough '02-'04. That's like a completely different saga of italian ultras culture. Nowadays italian football (on the pitch and outside) is soooooo freaking different. This video could have been shot in a different galaxy, by recent standards. They won. And they've won even more than those ultras feared in early 2000s. They've won so much that it's not even the same thing anymore. EDIT: i was wrong, as stated at the end, it's 2007. That's fine, most of the facts they're referring to still apply to the frame of time and years I was referring to

Amazing documentary. It makes me nostalgic of a my league (Argentina) and a time when we would have local and away fans, where there would be cheering battles among both teams fans (there were also other types of battles, but not all the time), there would be flares, etc... Not anymore. Every year is more a business and the most powerful get more power, more money and more help from the authorities, and the inequalities grow bigger.... (of course I don't support River nor Boca, so typical and boring and a cancer for our football, it's like supporting Juventus or Barcelona or RealMadrid or Manchester United...) Bring back the away fans!!!

Bello il documentario perché parlano personaggi di realtà anche minori che rappresentano tanto il vero attaccamento ad una squadra e il mondo ultras. Poi i pensieri in alcuni casi sono condivisibili o meno.

@@nicdstef It's a bit of a meh, of course don't want to discourage you from reading. Sometimes the writing is all over the place, a chapter desicated to a deceases Roma fan was described twice in 50 pages with the same words. If you are a football fan, or part of a supporters group, there is nothing really groundbreaking or new in it.

I was a kid and didn't like very much teams like Milan and others,my team was Avellino,I grown up in borders between Napoli and Avellino provincial administrations ,6km from Napoli administration,other kids supported Napoli because their dads, me and my brother Avellino till today,I don't care much about the score,the colors are parts of me,they are the memory of my dad when passed away when I was near 16 years old in 2015,at the funeral in church the colurs of Avellino team were present,and for me will be alway Avellino 39:50
