Cutscene version of the complete banter between Anders and Nathaniel from Awakening expansion for Dragon Age: Origins. Created using toolset. #dragonageawakening #dragonageorigins #dragonageoriginsbanter
It shows that it really was kirkwall and his grim circumstances that made him the way he was in DA2. The sarcastic and good-humored Anders is still in there, he just rarely gets the opportunity to come out in full
I’ll never understand people who think his personality changed tbh. Nobody can keep up covering everything with humour forever. When he’s away from the dire circumstances, he is his usual cheeky self. Like if you take him to Chateau Haine. He didn’t really change fundamentally, he just a) matured and b) was in a different situation.
@@noble300000 it really didn’t. Justice shared Anders’ body, they didn’t become one being. Anders didn’t change fundamentally as a person, he just matured, and his mental health struggles were exacerbated. Plus, the stakes were higher. Again, listen to his dialogue from the Mark of the Assassin dlc. Away from the oppressive atmosphere of Kirkwall, his silly side came out again. I also dispute the notion that Justice ever actually corrupted into vengeance, but that’s a different argument.
@@AndersWatches Anders literally says they fully merged and he cant tell where Anders ends and Justice begins. Like that's flat out stated in the game and on the wiki.
In the dragon age asunder novel bandits assume the main characters are nobels pretending to be mages to scare off attackers since its so uncommon to see a group of mages travelling in the pre mage rebellion era
He is the Maker in disguise. It's the only explanation for what happens. First he joins the HoF's new recruits, and all is well. Then he is taken away from his servant (cats have staff you know). Next thing you know, Chantries are exploding, war breaks out, and the Veil's all messed up.
"Not when I'm naked, I don't." 🥰 Yes, please. Loved Greg Ellis' portrayal of Anders, but imagining Cullen saying that line to DA2 FemHawke.... makes nice fanfic fodder. 😏
Nathaniel is one of my most favorite characters in this game, if only they would tell us what happened to the Awakening Wardens in Inquisition. Are they with the HoF searching for a cure for the calling? Were they part of the Wardens controlled by Corypheus? Here Lies the Abyss is one of the few decent/not so mediocre parts of the story in Inquisition, but I really hated the lack of awareness the game has towards the Grey Warden companions from Awakening, and having Hawke but not the HoF felt like a disservice to me. I really want to see Nathaniel and Oghren again together with my HoF
I completely agree, really didn't like how DAI pretended Awakening never happened, and all we got was one line from Leliana telling us all the Fereldan Wardens have disappeared and then nothing, not even a codex entry. That's one thing I truly wish DA:D would address.
Hi. You make lovely videos. I do appreciate all the work you do with these tiny scenes. But why do you always dress them with the same armor? Wouldn't it be more interesting to have some of them with different armors or clothes? Or is it a limitation of the toolset? Just curious.
@@pbfalcon215He was right about wanting to free the mages however he was wrong in the ways he tried to achieve his goal. He Kickstarted a mage-templar war that plagued almost all of thedas for years. You can see that in DA inquisition.
People really hear that "not when I'm naked" and say that DA2 made him bi Like yeah it isn't much to go on but it's not like him being non straight was so unbelievable in awakening
Nah, I don't agree in this one, he was always portrayed as a ladies man in this game. That line about "not when I am naked" it's clearly done just to annoy Nathaniel, as every other snarky response. But whatever, I don't like Anders so I would never romance him, (if only they had done the same for Cullen in Inquisition, making him bi 😁)
@@SeventhheavenDK being bi wouldn't contradict being a ladies man, if he didn't show up bi in the next game I wouldn't make much about it but it's simply that he did and pointing out little things like this goes to counter the notion that it's so unbelievable that he could've been bi It also has exactly zero to do with you liking him or not, I'm just saying that in light of how his character went it's really not as glaringly huge of a difference as people pretend(even on other fronts)
I am very sad that the sarcastic ass Anders is almost completely gone by the time of DA2 Now he's only an emo freedom fighter who can't shut up about his cause, I know it makes sense with justice and all but still, i miss awakening Anders
There IS one super sassy line he can give to Bartrand in the first act when he asks how you found maps of the deep roads Anders responds "A wizard did it" don't know why but it was so sassy I laughed for a good ten minutes
He didn't shut up about his cause here either, more snarky, yes, but all the time was Circle this, Templars that. As the HoF there is a banter where you can express your annoyance to him if you take him to KalHirol.
