When adjusting the wheels after replacement, it’s also important to raise them enough so that the door doesn’t drag on the sill and also make the door solidly held by both top and lower wheels. Making them too tight tends to make the door hard to slide but too loose and the door will come off the tracks too easily.

Unless your old rollers are snapped and broken it is certainly NOT as easy as shown to get them out. I notice a few comments that say the same thing and say they needed to bust them up to get them out. Here's a better way: When looking at the bottom of the doors, next to the rollers, there are little holes to the left and right of the plastic flanges that stop the wheel from falling up into the door. Insert a toothpick or something similar a short way into those holes and press inwards (toward the wheel) to push the plastic locking mechanism and disengage. Then pull, and that side will come out. I asked my wife to help me do both sides at the same time. Maybe you can do them one at a time. Not sure, maybe we got lucky, but it took just a few seconds to get it out!

The rep on the phone was impressed with my knowledge and I of course credited you! Call me weird, but I cannot stop opening & closing my screen door. Thanks! Just completed this task, thanks to this video. One thing, while the insert of the replacement rollers was "like buttah"; could not be easier and effortless, the extraction of the offending, former rollers, was the exact opposite. I had to mangle both rollers with the needle-nose, to complete destruction, to get them out of the door. It's as if Andersen has some perverse reason to not allow consumers to replace their own parts. In fact, the first roller I destroyed actually fell with the lower sheet metal tube! Thanks again, though. Super helpful.

I realize my response is 2 years after your post, but .... same thing just happened to me regarding removing the broken wheel unit -- very difficult, broke some of the plastic, then it fell back into the metal area at the bottom of the door. Fortunately, I was able to shake the door enough so the wheel unit fell back into the opening where upon I used the needle-nose pliers to remove (with a lot of force!). I ordered the replacement wheels, hoping inserting those is easier!

This was a very useful demonstration. I successfully replaced the bottom wheels on my sliding screen door!! 🙌 My only complaint would be that the old wheels did NOT come out as easy as the one you removed in the demonstration. They were a bear to get out and I was afraid I was doing it wrong because you said not to tug hard so it doesn’t break…. Well I had to yank ‘em out with the needle nose. The new wheels were no problem to install. All’s well that ends well though, and I’m very satisfied!! If I hadn’t seen your video I might have replaced the whole door and spent lots more money.🤓 Thanks also for the link to the factory brand of wheels …
