Can confirm with you that grizzly bear is just the colour. Elk butt is the type of leather used.

You said you took the insole out and they fit perfect but they fit a little Tight with the insole in. I was always told that they’re supposed to fit a little tight when you first buy a pair of boots they’re supposed to fit like a firm handshake in the main part of your foot and have a little bit of pop when you first put them on and slippage in the heel and that’s what I always went with and it worked great for me

That’s correct, across the instep, because that is effectively your laces in a cowboy boot. There’s a difference between too tight and just right, which you have to determine for yourself. These boots without insole I would wear 9EE and with insole 9.5ee. This is common when using insoles.

I just purchased a pair of Macie Bean’s and they felt good in a size 8 with the insole, too big without. The 7.5 was tight with the insole but perfect without it… They told me to get the 7.5 because if I wore it with the insole it would stretch to the size without the insole. I was so confused. I got the 7.5, but I worry it’s too tight. I’m curious what your thoughts are?

I have a pair of Justine boots Grizzly and Ostrich that were my late husbands. The grizzly is black. The pull straps, front and back shaft, counter and part of vamp are grizzly. The other part of the vamp is ostrich (white). They are 10 1/2D. He purchased them in the 1970s. They have withstood the test of time. He always told me they were one of the most comfortable pairs of boots he had. He had over 200 pair of boots.

Not too bad, about $400. Fenoglio is a new one I have been on and they are also made in the USA at a better price. I’ll be doing more on them soon.

I just received the twister natural bison and they are nice. A lot stiffer than my other 2 pair of AB. One is ostritch and the other is a soft crackle finish leather that was so broken in and soft when I bought them off the shelf. AB is the only boot I buy anymore. I’m sure these will settle in soon.

The toe bug on the right boot appears to be quite a bit off center.

The Grizzley are a very comfortable boot, the leather is soft, and the boot has become one of my go to boots for any day I will be walking a lot. There is some fatigue after about 5 hours, but still in the top 5 for comfort. Lucchese has a much more comfortable footbed, even without an insole, and Fenoglio is probably the most comfortable boot I have ever tried. all around. I had some issues with the company on warranty of another boot and discussed all of this on an episode of the Podcast, but never went back to do a full review of the brand. Yet. I don't have a relationship with Texas Boot Co yet, but am trying to get the time to get back out there. My best advice is to give them a call and see if they will notify you when they get some in. I know they do a lot of AB and get new stock in all the time. by far they have the largest selection I have seen. Thanks for watching
