I travelled form Pittsburgh PA during spring break in college to spend the week helping folks in Galveston and the Bolivar Peninsula clean up after Ike. It was absolutely devastating. I remember a 90 year old woman who lived with her son who had an intellectual disability living in their home that had been torn in half. She was too old to get out before the storm hit, and was living in that half house with her son with no hot water and roaches everywhere. Heartbreaking
