I understand that you weren't planning on watching this video, but it chose you, it chose all of us. Just sit back and let this experience happen. Never tell another living soul about what you've seen here, this is our shared experience and no one else's. .
I knew Scott Anderson was good. But I didn’t think he was this good. His technique is flawless. Concentration is impeccable. A true athlete and ambassador for the game. What’s this game called again?
RU-vid recommended this for me... after watching the entire match I'm impressed with the skill level of these two gents. I've never seen this game before but it's very interesting
when the one guy kept waiting on a distraction in the crowd, I was thinking to myself "Come on dude! She can't help that she's having her 3rd heart attack!"
Ok,, I don’t know how I stumbled across this video and why it showed up in my feed, but damm happy it did… no doubt, the best comment section I’ve come across in like forever…
@@elephantgrass631 an unarmed woman was shot to death while protesting. The capitol police surely were rioting. To be fair though some of the people were completely out of control. Regardless, i was just making a joke.... Kinda like the Jan 6th committee
They are definitely listening in on our lives…. I never knew what this sport was until I was at my parents the other day and we watched some ppl play. Now I get a video that I never searched comes up
I remember reading about his victory in Obscure Sports Quarterly. Thanks to ESPN 8 (The Ocho) for bringing it to us in live action. Back to you, Cotton!
19:16 Sir, you are not the only one wiping away tears after bearing witness to such a world-class performance. I wept once since the start of this sentence and am still weeping as I write this part of it.
@@robertwadas Actually, “sport” is defined as, “an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.” Therefore, if you believe having the ability to put a ball where you want it, doesn’t make it a sport, then... Tossing a ball through a hoop in basketball is NOT A SPORT. Throwing a ball into a glove and hitting a ball with a bat in baseball is NOT A SPORT. Kicking a ball into a goal in soccer is NOT A SPORT. Hitting a ball over a net in tennis and volleyball is NOT A SPORT. Throwing a ball, running with a ball, kicking a ball through goal posts in football and rugby is NOT A SPORT.
@@tntkop It is a sport when there is an opposing athlete activly resisting your attempt to achieve your outcome. A 3 point contest in basketball is not a sport.. it is a game that is derived from a sport.
I always get goosebumps when I see Skelton do his classic “Skelton Stare” at the audience. Imagine being there and witnessing a king noticing your presence. Truly a man of the people.
I pissed my britches when I saw the “Skelton Stare”. Perhaps it was out of fear or excitement, but more than likely I did it as a last feeble chance to stay warm as I quickly succumb to hypothermia on this uncommonly cold October night on an isolated mountaintop; using my phone’s fleeting signal and last bits of battery to watch what is most important to me, the 2019 Bowls World Championship.
the sports been around for hundreds of years. The audience is old because this game is being hosted at Potters 'leisure resort', basically a holiday resort for retired people. There are thousands of young people that play bowls, and the crowd can go off its face and be exciting
I've seen nobody mention the athletic ability of these men. Strength of a leopard, the eyes of a perigan falcon, and speed of a ostrich. Bravo, bravo......
You see how Skelton follows through and walks briskly toward his shot? That’s what separates us weekend warriors from the pros. Take notes ladies and gentlemen.
Just imagine the chaos that ensued when that horde of adrenaline-filled senior citizens descended on the parking lot to leave this event. It must have been wondrous to witness.
There was a huge rivalry match last week and things were getting pretty heated towards the end of the match… When it finally ended, an all out brawl took place in the parking lot. Apparently that venue is still finding dentures and the tennis balls from spectators’ walkers
@Joel what are you on about? Respect in sport is still prevalent, it's just people online with the tendency to keep pushing this nonsense idea that today's sportsmen have no respect anymore that make it sound like this is reality, when it obviously isn't!
Witnessing limbs like that makes last minute winners look a shambles in football, this surely beats the aguero prem winning moment. Astonishing, breathtaking, moving, what a sport.
I love the electrifying crowd and the sheer anticipation watching these chiseled athletes put on their best to compete for the shining trophy. Truly exhilarating and suspenseful
In Brazil a derivation of this sport is very popular, we call it Bocha (reads botcha). My grandpa aways took me to the bars were they have this fields called cancha (chantcha) inside. I play it everytime i go to a bar.
I didn't expect Skelton to play riffleback on the stumble during the third phase of the counter, especially with the off-stance that Anderson had adopted up to that point. When you take into account that body draw and diminishing returns on the swingback would of almost certainly applied at any point it really was a brave move, and he executed it perfectly.
