@Southern Fun Actually, yes it is. Not only do children have a much higher power to weight ratio, meaning they are stronger in comparison to their body weight than an adult, at an adolescent age, their growth spurt allows them to gain muscle very quickly, much faster than adults. That means they progress very much faster than someone who begins later in life.
Its actually not hard it take about 3 months of training if your not fat to be able to hold you weight. Proper form will take longer gaining the strength isnt hard at all
Crazy how just seconds ago they were hanging upside down off the wall, but still nervous about jumping in on their own terms. So much respect for these folks!
To all the people complaining about there not being a way down: Psicocomp is a deep water climbing competition. It is specifically designed without a way down because that's part of deepwater climbing. The competitors know this coming in, and they tend to really enjoy it; that's why they're participating in the first place.
@@adolphin9348 So as a person who's afraid of heights, similar to the ladies in the video you would then jump down? Or not compete at all because you knew this is part of it? I guess if this is explicitly marketed as the ''climbing event that features an Olympic dive at the end'' then that's fine but at the same time, do people who want to compete and make a name for themselves in the sport really have a choice but to compete? I don't think it's as black and white as you would have us believe. ''Having a choice'' is often an illusion and just said by people who haven't fully understood all the moving parts and variables. This is done for entertainment. There is no value of the jump when it comes to the actual sport of climbing so that being said, how would you feel about this ''gimmick'' if one of the athletes got injured in the jump? I would say that's terrible. Getting an athlete injured for entertainment purposes that had nothing to do with the sport as such is not ok. And before you ask, yes, you can absolutely injure yourself jumping from that height EVEN when hitting the water. You can easily walk away from that with a permanent injury that in the case of rock climbing would end a career. Dives from that height do in fact require training or at least some sort of understanding of the human form. It's precisely this which makes Olympic dives so spectacular. Because you and I couldn't do what they do without injury. I guess... everyone is free to play stupid games as much as their heart desires it but then they shouldn't get surprised if they win stupid prizes? Is that ok to say?
Honestly I think it's really dumb that they make the climbers jump off the cliff at the end. Dislocated joints, compression fractures, even concussion if you hit the water wrong.
Don't know about you but my life would be so damn boring if I was afraid to do the things I love because of possible injuries. Think about it this way...look at the 3 football sports - association (soccer/football), gridiron (american football) and rugby. ALL 3 of those sports involve contact where if you're hit wrong dislocated joints, compression fractures and concussions are possible and very likely. Live a little.
I really like Ashima, she's very humble, i watched her compete in Utah indoor stadium and this girl is really good especailly in Bouldering. Congratulations to the winner
@@stevengood2481 High dive alone is already scary as shit and that's only 33 feet high. These people aren't professional cliff divers they are rock climbers.
Deep-water soloing, also known as psicobloc, is a form of solo rock climbing that relies solely upon the presence of water at the base of a climb to protect against injury from falls from the generally high-difficulty routes. Everyone stop complaining about the drop. It's literally the name of the game here.
Tbh I think that feature is really fucking cool. What bothered me personally is how the commentator egged them on, counting them down or yelling "jump"! Like, dude, you‘re a complete stranger to them, don’t act so familiar. They’re gonna jump, just let them do it at their own pace and at the height they are comfortable with.
Lewis Durkin It’s more of a joke if it actually doesn’t show them jumping off. Then you’re like “teehee she’s still up there to this day LUL”. It doesn’t work when it literally shows the person jumping off of it though.
@@pt9373 wow not only did you get wooshed but you're butthurt aswell, but wait theres more. technically we didnt see her jump though we only have to take the commentators word for it and that water ripple behind the 13 yr old could have just been a large fish. so she could still be up there
She's competing at ABS youth regionals at my gym today...very excited to see her climb as I'm sure she will onsight every problem...also feel bad for the other girls in her division who will be fighting for second place.
i was at first like wow the woman who one was way better than her then he said the other was literally 13 years old don't worry sweet heart your gonna kick ass
@@davidalvaradoda It's not about fear. It's about ending their climbing career because of a bad landing in the water. It's not like it would take anything to have an elevator or stairway installed.
@@jlg395 Climbing is a dangerous sport. Eveyone who climbs knows that. They participate in this event (which is a deep water climbing event, specifically designed for the water landing) because they like it and want to participate. Noone is forcing them; it's not some big mandatory competition.
He said that because she let go after the girl did, instead of at the same time. And then I think he thought she was't going to jump at all. That's why he says "...there she goes" after she jumps in.
yeah i was thinking the same..i myself can't even do a pull up or chin up more than 3 times..these girls have to hang on and play the "are you ready? lets jump. 1.2.." yeah...not happening. gravity is not nice.
Mr Guapoe A Slide 😆😆😆😆😭😭 That’s me at the GO APE (UK) adventure park harnessed to a wire walking over what “I” call high (10) meters above the ground obstacle course and the only thing I looked forward to was the zip line at the end 😆😆but had to go through hell to get there 😱😥
I jumped off a cliff about that high and really jacked myself up. Seems a bit ridiculous not to give the climbers another way down. RU-vid take this off my recommended
I think people don't realize the spinal compression that comes with high cliff jumping. It would have been cool to see them jump from the top, but I don't blame them for downclimbing. They're athletes and I can imagine they don't want to risk any unnecessary injuries.
