We took a ride down the old Anderson's fire trail. A long descent into the bush ending up at the start of the Oaks trail. We took on the Oaks fire trail afterwards and racked up 60 k for the day.
There's some tips for finding the start of the trail. Start from wentworth falls and ride east, about 7km from the station is where the trail starts (make a right onto tablelands rd. and follow it until it turns into kings tableland rd.). Make sure you take a left at the old hospital. Loads of jumps along the way, river crossings, cliffs and a mega climb back up Bedford Creek. Luckily we found an extra caffeine gel along the way. :) Total k's covered = just over 60k!

Good channel I love the VIBE you guys have. I'm just getting back into get fit and want to get a bike this is inspiring and shows me options. but to be honest I need to start on road with shorter distances. That Red hill video is crazy track no way I would take that on might go out there and walk around on a adventure though... Stay safe out there...

At the Bedford Creek water crossing at 4.40 there are stepping stones to your right if you're going to walk it.. Id rather do them than get saturated shoes ands socks. Especially in winter.

Hahahaha! Yeah it confused us too. We had to watch it over trying to figure out what happened. Firstly we were totally neglectful for months both riding about with crappy tyres... Plus we took some lessons that taught us hip positioning. So maybe back then the positioning on the bike wasn't that great. Amanda remembers hitting a rock also. Cheers for watching that far!

I too had a look at Amanda's crash. Yes, hip positioning is a little out of whack, plus, lean back a little more over the seat when you hit those waterbars; rocks are just a formality on these rides and need to be treated with caution, especially at high speed. A tip regarding creek crossings: check for rocks, logs, sand-levels and of course water levels prior to crossing creeks, especially after heavy rain periods (floods). I learnt the hard way by flying into a creek crossing without checking ahead, front wheel grabbed a log and over the handlebars I went. Winded and wet, I was Ok, lesson learnt. That climb out of Bedford Creek back up to Woodford is a shocker (bloody steep gradient, especially in the middle section). Did you complete it without getting off? It's the only climb I have been unable to conquer over the many years I have been mountain biking. The Woodford to Glenbrook section of this ride is becoming insanely busy on weekends. The coffee shops in Glenbrook appreciate the support the mountain bike community is providing to them at the moment and no doubt well into the future, especially during these difficult times. Fortunately, I live in Glenbrook (thanks for the promo), so when my ride is complete, I can sit back on the verandah and reminisce, with a slice of carrot cake and a flat white .... nirvana!

do you have strava which i follow to get the route?
@harrisonkay575
@harrisonkay575 4 года назад
Is it a loop trail or point to point ?
@PedalCrusaders
@PedalCrusaders 4 года назад
Harrison Kay is a point to point. When you finish, you can then pick up the oaks fire trail. So it works out pretty well if you park at Glenbrook. Then catch the train up to Wentworth falls. Ride all the way back downhill
@PedalCrusaders
@PedalCrusaders 4 года назад
Alternatively park at Woodford and catch the train to Wentworth....

When you get to the bottom of Andersons, (at bedford creek) you can head back up Ingars into Wentworth falls, that turns it into a loop
