Andor doesn't FEEL like Star Wars 

I agree that it doesn’t feel that much like Star Wars and I think that is such a good thing. It’s such a breath of fresh air compared to the last few Star Wars shows. It feels unique and different while still set in a familiar universe. I absolutely loved the first 3 episodes and I’m really excited to see what comes next

I really hate this narrative that is being created that if you don’t like Andor you only care about cameos or fan service.

Solid opening episodes I'd give them all 8ish/10 I think it's great that Lucasfilm are trying something different. doing such a slow and steady story, allows for all characters to be explored and story arcs to be developed

Remember that George wanted to do something like this (maturity, tone and action) back in early 2000's. Remember the "Coruscant Underworld" series. Yea, he had over 100 episodes written but could not afford to do this because he need the Volume to be invented (he's so ahead of the future). One thing does not remove the other. That Andor does not feel SW does not mean that it is not an extraordinary series and that it is more than welcome. But yeah, it doesn't feel SW. And what makes SW different is its essence, if you miss this, how SW differs from Dune, Galactica, Blade Runner or any other sci-fi product. I remember when AoTc was released, the Coruscant underworld scenes during the Zam chase reminded you of Blade Runner, but still, you knew that this was Star Wars and you felt that way. In this series, at least in these three chapters, it has not been like that. Still the series is enjoyable because it is an almost flawless product.

It’s going to feel more Star Wars soon I think - while maintaining its uniqueness. There’s going to be stormtroopers and tie fighters and the like. As the world scales up I think it’s inevitable that it’ll feel more like Star Wars than it does now

It's so hard to define my favorites when it comes to Star Wars. I love the Mandalorian, it's one of my comfort shows. Boba Fett and Kenobi are some of the greatest characters. I can't wait to see the Rebels story continue with Ahsoka and hopefully see Thrawn. But I would be totally fine having to wait a few years for new Star Wars content with the same caliber as Andor. I'm more likely to get Star Wars fatigue from watching new mediocre content every few months than from rewatching my favorites while I wait for something new. And I'm not saying everything that's been coming out has been mediocre, but like he said, Andor hits different. It wasn't rushed to be made and it shows

It doesn't feel like Star Wars, that is true. It doesn't have to be something bad, but it looks pretentious. They seem to have tried to make more "mature" as people say, but maturity doesn't come just with the tone and aesthetic, or with swearing, but with the depth of its story. I hope it ends up being good.

Love to see your enjoying it !In my opinion I thought the first 2 episodes were solid but boring but the 3rd was dope hate to see that some people have given up on the show when it’s literally a quarter of the way threw and 2 if those episodes were intro episodes

10/10 it feels so real and its rly high quality. Like for example marvel started doing bullcrap like she hulk and bad story like thor. Love how star wars is going up not down

I like how we have only seen Pre Mor members and not any storm troopers yet. The show implies that at the time they were very much the first line of defense before the empire has to get involved. In the original trilogy, there are stormtroopers everywhere which sorta shows how much pressure the rebels were really putting on the empire at that point

I think it felt like star wars to me but star wars in novels. Things like the Thrawn novels were extremely slow paced.

Simple minds =Simple pleasures (light sabres and clones going "pew pew" with blasters). Adult minds = Andor is great. Not everywhere is in a state of War, hence no TIE fighters, X wings or Troopers yet.

Andor definitely feels like Star Wars to me it’s just different. Hear me out most Star Wars content is focused on characters whose actions constantly change the fate of the galaxy, instead with andor you get to view Star Wars with a different lens where it focuses more on the average people in the galaxy; you get to see how people live under imperial occupation, you get to see people keeping their heads down at the looming threat of being prosecuted by a totalitarian government, some relying on corruption to get by and hopefully in a later episode we’ll get to see the spark of rebellion. Another point is like to bring up is that the show has its own aesthetic which was quite refreshing, similar to how the old republic, prequel and original era’s have their own aesthetic feel to them. No ripping off old legends designs or old concept art like Disney usually do. Gotta appreciate it and if they keep this content up then I look forward to experiencing more.

I want to say I wish marvel films did not exist because I feel like if they didn’t this show would be a 9 in my book, i just can’t get over the nova core people comparison from guardians of the galaxy. I will say I agree with Star Wars theory that it seemed slow. And after looking at what Tony Gilroy did with Rogue one in introducing the character Jyn Erso in such little time I felt like that would be the same for Cassian. Although I do respect the suspense in getting to know a character we thought we knew already. Then I felt for 3 episodes being all about him escaping the planet and meeting Luthen… just seemed like they could of fit alittle more into it and his back story or made it 2 episodes. On to your point you are so correct and I think theory said it awhile ago Disney is going for this new vibe so anyone who has not seen Star Wars can just jump right in without having seen the others. Did Boba, OB1, Solo, and the Disney Star Wars trilogy "FEEL" like Star Wars, or did they Feel childish Well Star Wars isn't childish. And Andor isn't either. So if that other stuff didn't FEEL like Andor, it's more likely that stuff isn't Star Wars and Andor IS. Best Star Wars show since The Empire Strikes Back, 1980. Feel it...that's the Force of Quality. And by the way - Tie Fighters were in the show, and many of them got blown to bits.

I'm okay with it not feeling like star wars. It's a breath of fresh air, from what has happened recently. It's dark,mature,gritty. The score is amazing,the writing is great, the dialogue also. Even though the first 3 episodes were slow burners, i think it was a good setup. The first minutes of episode 1, & the final minutes of episode 3 were the best.

The prequels didn't feel like star wars when they came out either, neither did the mandalorian, I see people saying this as a complaint abt Andor sometimes and it's frustrating bc star wars is such a massive universe that we've convinced ourselves can only be about 6 or 7 people who all know each other and have goofy formulaic adventures in space in only one genre

Andor is an amazing Star Wars show. Different? Yeah- and that's what makes it great. The fact that it is based on what Star Wars is supposed to be (war in space), this space spy thriller hits all the right spots and has the perfect pace and tone. Star Wars was never meant for kids (whay would you make war movies for kids, where kids get killed by adults?!), and this show proves that it has grown into what it was always meant to be. Let's hope Star Wars keeps on this path.
