Rae Sloane is a Grand Admiral (a senior military rank only below Grand Moff, and the rank of a commanding officer of an entire fleet) and a black woman. These guys don't know the Star Wars universe at all. The racism the Empire holds is against NONHUMANS, it'd be lame and very un-Star Wars if it was targeted against humans of different skin complexions.

If the empire is coded as racist it would be against non-humanoids (or "uncivilized" humanoids like the Aldhani), I think. It's almost exclusively humans serving in the Empire, and only a few near-humans like Thrawn, Ventress and Darth Maul.

I feel like the Empire is the most diverse organization in the galaxy. They have every race represented. Xenophobic though for sure.

@@SynthTerror Yes, for humans they've always been. The Star Wars universe is all about talking about real world sociopolitical issues with its own unique "clothing", it doesn't bring literal real world sociopolitical issues into the mix. It's commentary with the Sci-Fi/Science Fantasy touch.

I literally had to turn off the podcast after Van's ignorant comment. Charles was bad enough but he's always a little whack. Van's double down was inexcusable though. Also, no mention of the ISB golden boy Lt. Blevin? Do better

The only discrimination that exists in Star Wars in against droids. There is no racism in Star Wars.

The society of Star wars is only racist towards droids, yes. But the empire is very racist towards anything that is not human. You can read that in the first Thrawn book.
