The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2022 US Open saw Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz claiming his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek claiming her third Grand Slam title. The 2023 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 28 - September 10. Love Agassi, he had easily the highest level anyone has ever produced in their 30s at the US Open. That QF vs Sampras in 01, the final run in 02 and then those 2 matches pushing peak Federer super close in 04 and 05. For him to only be on 2 titles is a bit of a farce

Agassi’s father, Emanouli, was born and raised in a Christian household in Tehran, but his family was Armenian. The family surname was originally Aghassian, but the distinctively Armenian suffix -ian had been dropped several generations earlier to avoid Ottoman persecution. The Ottoman Empire, led by the radical nationalist ‘Young Turks,’ carried out a genocide between 1915-1923. While Armenians were the most affluent and widely persecuted group, perpetrators sought to purge the Ottoman Empire of all Christian minorities. This included Assyrians and Greeks. Scholars estimate that 1.5 million Armenians were slaughtered, but the total death toll is over 2 million people.

Man, that hug with Stitch when he won that first title…now that’s a real hug. That’s a special hug of two people who bonded together over an incredible battle for an unbelievable achievement! It warmed my heart to see Stitch lift him up like that, what a sportsman🤩

Small trivia:- Agassi is the only male player to win career super slam i.e all 4 slams, Olympic gold & YEC. It's makes even more amazing that big 3 haven't achieved that feat. Only his wife Steffi (who had non calendar year super slam) & Serena achieved that feat.

Agassi said in his book he hated tennis, yeah watching this I really can't believe that maybe some aspects of the game or touring BUT not the game in itself
