One of my favorites days ever.....I couldn’t believe he came back from 1-6 2-6 4-4 30-40....being 141 in the world just a year before that match....and playing the final of the only grand slam he didn’t won losing two finals in 90 and 91..... One of most amazing moments in the sports ever... Agassi huge legend

I watched this match when I was still a kid. Classic moments right there with Agassi.

Victory that witnesses all Andre’s greatness. What a comeback, after the worst period in his life. What a champion, what a Legend… ANDRE AGASSI.

This is one of those matches i never forget. Even now 2023, i am still glad, that Andre won this match. His returns, passing-shots, and ground-strokes were best.

This was a huge moment in men's tennis. At the time, Agassi became only the 5th man to win all four Grand Slam titles and the first to do so on three different surfaces. The first two (Fred Perry and Donald Budge) completed this in the 1930s and the second two (Rod Laver and Roy Emerson) completed it in the 1960s. So there had been a 30 year gap when Agassi accomplished this. Of course, since then we have seen this happen in the last 15 years by each of The Big Three.

i was at the time a big agassi fan...i remember i cry after the second set lost...but what a comeback....the second rain delay- in the third set saved agassi..otherwise i think he would have lost in 3 sets Agassi was before the french open 14 on the worldraking and after wimbledon the nr.1...one of the greatest comeback in the tennis history....

I will never forget this moment...after the first 2 sets I was so destroyed as Andre was totally off topic, I couldn't beleive it, I wanted to cry, I was like: "no Andre, not again, you cannot miss this final like in 1990"...and then, when he managed to win the 3rd, I started to think that if he won the 4th, he could make it in the decider. At 2 sets all, I couldn't breathe, watching this nerveracking final set was a real pain, but I felt that Andre was really into the match, that he would die on the court to finally win the French Open, and when he broke Andrei, I was over the moon. Then he missed these 3 match points on Andrei"s serve, I was so gutted as I knew Andre could regret it, but at 40-15 on his serve in the next game, I prayed for a winning serve, and it happened!!! Like Andre, I shed some tears, he deserved to win RG so bad, he was my idol, his emotion on the court was so contagious, most of the french crowd wanted him to win. It was probably the most beautiful moment in my life as a tennis lover, Andre was the Roland Garros champion, at last, wow...if you're reading me Andre, thank you so much for all these moments of joy, you are a huge legend. Merci....

The Medvedev Backhand is such an impressing shot! How can he get that power and acceleration only by that short and straight backswing?!

I have a great story behind Agassi and this tournament. I’m so proud of him for achieving this! I’m blessed to have played with him at Bollettieri’s back before he became a true legend of the sport! 🎾🥇🎾

I discovered tennis in 1996 with Roland and Kafelnikov. At that time Agassi was nowhere, and I didn't know the player. That day, I discovered the legend.

Federer may be my favourite player to watch (and i'm a fan of his), but Agassi for me will always be my hero. The man who was (and still is) such an inspiration to me and many others and watching him win this event was simply just magical.

I remember watching that jumping up and down yelling, "Way to go Andre!!!!!" lol. Man, I sure do miss watching him play!!!

i never thought at the time he can win the french open...before paris he lost against rafter on clay....but in paris one match after the another was a classic...beginning with the first match against squillari....2 round against clement...1/8 against the champion from 1998 moya....1/2 with the rain the delay in 2 days against hrbaty .....and the legendaray final against medvedew.....who beat kuerten kafelnikow and meligeni i think, 3 claycourt specialist.....For me the greatest/emotional grandslam i ever see....

If I were to pick a player to win this final before the match..I would pick that semi bolt head Andre, because of his powerful forehand and his excellent double handed backhand. The only thing I did it like about Andre on this day were his ugly pants.

Agassi was lucky facing players like Medvedev, Kafelnikov, Todd Martin and Ivanisevic in GS finals. They were mentally unbalanced and ruined themselves. Although he was fighting to the end and got his wins fairly.

I was a big Agassi fan as a teenager and remember this game as it was yesterday but the level of playing was so low. Any top 20 player from nowadays would win this final.
