It was no surprise that defending champions & gold medal favourites like Alysha Newman, Camryn Rogers and Sarah Mitton came out on top at the 2023 Canadian Track and Field Championships. But Andre De Grasse NOT hitting the 100m world standard or racing in the 100m final was a turn of events no one expected. World champion hurdler Perdita Felicien joins Athletics North host Rob Pizzo to talk about the upset.

They can’t fix his drive phase. The 100m and 200m are 2 different races. I could fix his start in a week. Needs to hire me.

@@wiiiz3Naw and say it's DE Grasse. Sure Bailey has a WR a d Olympic title, but De Grasse has significantly more medals than Bailey.

@@irishmick6709 Really? Huh. I could've sworn De Grasse had more. He has 6 Olympic medals and 5 world championship medals while Bailey has 2 Olympic medals and 4 worlds. I'm I missing something?

@@khumokwezimashapa2245 …we might have to call this a draw because I just recalculated by adding all the overall medals that these two greats have won over the years - 12 each! I'm not just looking at the Olympics and the World's BTW - check Wikipedia. Cheers!

DeGrasse is not even in the same level as Letsile Tebogo or Noah Lyles. Hopefully we have some young canadiens coming up in thru the system.
