@Gregorio Gonzalez He said what he meant the first time, before he even had any dealings with the front office. This interview is a clean up attempt. What I've always liked about club shay shay was that this seemed like a place for people to just be all the way real, but this guy clearly was not. There may be some truth to what he said here, but he didn't want to go to Memphis in the first place. He should at least own that.

Yes, but what's wrong with what he's saying? He said he didn't want to play for Memphis and it seems the team agreed with him and bought him out to trade him. If the deals Memphis had for him didn't pan out that's not on Iggy. And like he said he could hv been fined into playing but they didn't. Probably because there was some paperwork supporting the agreement.

Tbh you have to take both stories and figure out what sticks. Like Iggy said if he was in breach they would have fined him back to the court, so it'd not as simple as him not wanting to play. For me the most feasible narrative is that Memphis brought him in as trade capital and made it clear to him that was what was going to happen. Iggy probably didnt want to play for Memphis and was happy with their arrangement. He probably had some paperwork to support that too or they would have fined him for not playing. When they couldn't get what they wanted, they decided to play him but he didn't want to play and had paperwork to back him. So the used media and public perception to either try to force him unto the court or atleast not make it look like it was their fault.

The players went in on him because the front office told them that Iggy didn't want to play when they told him the whole time he wouldn't have to play he was just trade bait. And like he said if they really wanted him to play they could have fined him for every game he refused to play but they didn't because they know they were in the wrong. The Memphis players are too young to understand how the workings of the front office operates.

But trades happen in the NBA and he refused to come to Memphis yet still got his money. The Grizz did everything possible to accommodate this dude and he still talked bad about the team and the city. No he was getting paid, but the team probable agreed he wouldn't play for them beforehand because Memphis thought they would have traded him by then. I think the issue was that Iggy didn't want to play for Memphis from the jump and that agreement was already set with the team but since they couldn't trade him they tried to get him to play but Iggy had the option to say no.
