Thank you for making this available. It can seem basic for some but Navarra’s genius technique was the foundation of generations and generations of cellists.
Andre Navarra was my teacher in bowing technique through this very video. His teaching is very detailed. From this video on my cello playing had evolved from "boring" to "hey, nice sounding". I thank Andre Navarra and especially his son to let this video go to the public.
Thank you so much for translating the video into English subtitle. I've watched the German version with Google Translate several years ago, and now I found that I'd misunderstood many key points. Really appreciate your work, thank you!
I cannot express how important these videos are to me. As someone who plays cello, but has hand injuries, i have been advised many times to watch this (entire) Navarra video, because his technique in both hands allows for the most ergonomic use of both hands, wherein *proper position= natural use of weight* rather than gripping, shoving, or tension. But being able to read his direction now is a phenomenal addition! So much more information, and so deeply appreciated! I will definitely be donating to the gofundme to help finance parts 3 and 4. Also, thank you so much for the video enhanced contrast/black-point - even more visual detail! Thank you a thousand times, team at Cello Australia!!

These instructions on bow hold are not for me, his pinky finger is about twice as long as mine. And I've got the top of my thumb ripped off in a belt sander. Guess I have to find my own way with some duct tape 😝
@@nethGG whilst there are a variety of bow holds, dhere is only one that respects a simple principle: body mechanics. Which universally applies whatever the person's morphology might be.
