This reminds me so much of my deceased Italian upper neighbours in Holland. They came from Napoli and where one big hart together. Ciro and Lina de Vita: I WILL LOVE AND REMIND YOU FOREVER and I really miss you Ciro. The best neighbour friend one could ever have!
me: this song is probably about some epic party/celebration or some shit Wikipedia: The song was meant to commemorate the opening of a funicular trainway
I do love his voice, and his style of doing the song. As always, Bocelli brings a beautiful melodic take on any song. For those of you comparing him to Pavarotti, there isn't any comparison, it's like comparing a Volcano and a Iceberg. Yes, Bocelli is a melodic voice, able to reach a multitude of octaves, but Pavarotti added a certain 'authoritative' sound to his singing, which could be heard in all of his songs. One is not better than the other. If one likes the power in a voice, go to Pavarotti, likewise of one prefers the melodic beauty of a song, then go for Bocelli.
Drake Oliver. Would love to hear Bocelli sing Funiculi Funicula with Amira Willighagen! How about it, Andrea? Listen to Amira singing with Sunnyboy Dladla, Classics is Groot, South Africa. This was a dress rehearsal, so some quality limitations.
I'm not sure how t spell, hair-a-tic but I am probably one here, I like Dean Martin. 'and for what it's worth, so did the ladies. Oh, and he was a pretty good golfer. donrjr
Come on. I love Andrea. Absolutely and forever. He fantastic. Amo la cultura Italiana e c'ho vissuto per parecchi anni, but Pavarotti is better in all ways. Probably the greatest ever.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Andrea's voice is out of this world. Wonderful performance. God bless you Andrea, may you enjoy peace and happiness. Thanks for posting. Greetings from sri lanka
Maravilhoso!
OMGosh who but who can do what he does to any song!! Twice I've seen him in Tampa, FL and was on the red carpet last Dec, 7th row and who couldn't cry (well maybe a man but even that's debatable) and to see his sweet face as he could hear me yelling out to him and that grin aawweee but alas thou I know he ended up with a fiance' (may be married by now and she was there and also an opera singer) but yes I have been married 30 yrs and my husband just sits with a smile as he sees my tears indulging me because even he can understand his greatness! Thanks to PBS for making me aware of a type of music I never would have even considered and now it is daily! Love you Andrea!!

Do you know where? Where this ungrateful heart No longer pains me! No longer pains me! Where fire burns, but if you run away, It lets you be, it lets you be! It doesn't follow after or torment you Just with a look, just with a look. (Chorus) Let's go, let's go! To the top we'll go! Let's go, let's go! To the top we'll go! Funiculi, funicula, funiculi, funicula! To the top we'll go, funiculi, funicula! The car has climbed up high, see, climbed up high now, Right to the top! Right to the top! It went, and turned around, and came back down, And now it's stopped! And now it's stopped! The top is turning round, and round, and round, Around yourself! Around yourself! Funiculi, funicula, funiculi, funicula! To the top we'll go, funiculi, funicula!
Bacios pertutti.
I’ve loved this song since I sang it in grade school. It’s a song that brings a smile to your face & heart. Bocelli, as usual, renders it in its original language beautifully with such an expressive manner. Bravo!

I had a chance to be at gala-evening at Caracalla´s baths in Rome and listen to this masterpiece (although sung by different artist with symphonic orchestra) and there was a shiver running down my spine. This version is even more grandiose and I only wish I was there.. Oh how man can be amazed by such a simple things- the real happiness
okay but YEARS ago I used to listen to this song every road trip and sing along AND I FINALLY FOUND IT. you don't know how long it took me to find this.

What a powerful and beautiful voice Andrea Bocelli has! This song was one I heard for the first time about four years ago, when a pal of mine, sent me an e-mail titled "the supermarket opera" in which four singers, employees of th Supermarket and one customer sang this song, and I liked it. A merry tune it is very nice to hear and enjoy.
Cool! It's the pure form of the song! Americans and Canadians have co-opted the song for what seems like every format in the world, but this is the best for!

That VOICE is so amazing! I spent some time in Italy, even took the children to a beautiful performance of a string quartet yet I have no idea what that woman was saying!
It was an unexpected and completely perfect example of freedom in music when the Grateful Dead would play it while they were settling in before they opened up their first set sometimes in the mid-80s. They would rip that out while they were still tuning up sometimes before they opened up their first set and it would hit me in an archival sense. It hit me in my memory bank but it didn't know where it was from.
The english translation for this song is: "Mom, I'm sorry for saying Frick I didn't mean to say Frick Kevin was making me mad Mom please give me my xbox back"
C'mon! C'mon! To the top we'll go! C'mon! C'mon! To the top we'll go! Train train train train! To the top we'll go! Train train! These lyrics doesn't sound nearly as good in English.
Let’s go, Let’s go! To the top we go! Let’s go, Let’s go! To the top we go! Funicular Up, Funicular down, funicular up, funicular down! To the top we go, Funicular, Funicular! This is a better version
What’s funny is this song is about a railway that literally only existed for a very short time. Could you imagine a song like this being written for the opening of say, Walmart, to put it in modern perspective?
LAUGHING OUTSIDE CRYING DOWN BELOW, PASTA MEATBALLS JOE DIMAGGIO, FELLATIO PINOCCHIO A PIZZA PIE FROM DOMINO'S~ ALL OF THIS BECAUSE I'M SINGING IN A POINTY HAT!
jampo... (a celebratory gesture like america's "yay")... and we're celebrating italy's first running funicular car (look it up). I heart this piece... it's so cheerful!
When I listen this, I remind a calm night on a sail boat front of the Stromboli lava, all was quiet, and suddenly a friend put this song on the stereo, and it was in rythm with the lava fow! Magic aeolian islands !
Hey I liked pavarotti too but andrea s voice is magical just an absolutely soul piercing sound andrea is best this side of heaven he can sing in any venue god bless him
