He always was that, but I think that Juventus midfield was so underrated. The big difference between Allegri's Juventus sides and the teams they lost to in the 2 Champions League Finals was the forward line- Real had BBC (Bale Benzema Cristiano) and Barcelona had the MSN. What's strange is how Allegri eliminated both of those sides en-route to the final only to come up against the other in its prime. What do I mean by This? In 2015, they eliminated Real Madrid at the Bernabeau when Pogba set up Morata for the equaliser only to encounter Prime MSN. 2 years later they eliminated Barcelona (the last time MSN featured together in the Champions League) in the Quarters, Monaco in the semi only to come up against prime BBC with the likes of Ramos, Marcello, Modric & Kroos also at their peak

Free kicks that are closer to goal can be really tricky. His ability to get it up and over the wall with less room to work with is what I noticed apart from the unreal passing
I can't remember who the coach was that converted him from an AM to a DM but that was a genius move. Pirlo is built different, the range of passing and shooting don't even make sense. And he has zero pace but thinking quicker than anyone. This is why I love football.

Was slightly better at Milan even though he won more trophies with Juventus in a shorter time span. He was the best player at the 2006 World Cup (that Italy won), was instrumental in Milan's 2 Champions League winning seasons and magical when he won Serie A with them in 2004. Am so glad that Pogba went to Juve in 2012 and effectively got mentored by him rather than staying at United where Phelan was assistant and told Ferguson to play scrubs like Phil Jones and a finished Park ahead of him. Have you read what Pirlo, Buffon and Chiellini said about Pogba when he first joined?
Am a Juventus fan but rate Xavi ever so slightly higher based on how he was the brain of both that Barcelona and Spain side that conquered all. The passing, ball manipulation, ability to dictate a game and chemistry with Iniesta were something else. He provided the assist for Spain's most important goal of all time in Euro 2008 when he saw a gap between Lahm & Lehmann for Torres to exploit. He then set up Messi's header vs United as Barcelona won the Treble, Puyol for the Semi Final winner for Spain against Germany and then absolutely dictated the 2011 Champions League Final as Barcelona annihilated Manchester United at Wembley
