this is THE MOST AMAZING horse ever she goes so high in her piaffe and passage and you can see the energy she gives her rider she is giving her heart and soul and loving every second best of luck for the future
I have literally fallen in love with this horse...what i find truely amazing is the fact that you see her at one stage and he is holding her back an that she wants to do more - she is breathtakingnly amazing!I have a dream horse!!
She is having a ball dancing and prancing! To her this is her stage! Beautifully trained and beautifully ridden! Excellent pair! Keep up the astounding shows! Love seeing them here!
She raised the bar for dressage. What a Queen! Thank you for posting this video for those of us who missed the priviledge of seeing her give a live performance. She gave her all.
This horse is an angel with invisible wings - the partnership that these two (horse and rider) share is out of this world. Beauty, harmony and expression personnified.
Denna häst är ett privilegium att få uppleva! Man gråter ösregn! Underbart! Måtte hon leva för alltid o ge många föl!/ This horse is a privillage to see! One cryes like rain! May she live forever and give plenty of foals! Wonderful!
This gorgeous grey mare had to be humanely put down this morning as she broke a leg just below the knee. It is such a tragedy to the dressage world. Matine, may you never be forgotten, and although your career was short, you inspired so many people and changed the way of dressage forever. Rest in Peace xxx
What a beautiful mare. I am proud to be a Dane. I can walk less than a mile and visit the Blue Hors farm. Not many can do that and I am proud to be so lucky.
What I LOVE about Matinee is her show presence! The more the crowd is into her the more she responds back. She is one of those few horses you can see that truly enjoys showing off. A true show girl with a rider who has a big heart! I don't normally get choked up on dressage as I am more of an eventing type of girl but like myponiesrule says she sends chills down my spine too! I hope she recovers well and be in the olympics one of these days. She and her rider truly deserves a gold metal!!
my heart goes out to this amazing mare. she gives me goosebumps every time i see her perform. may we only be so lucky to meet this beauty in heaven....
Wow, I didn't realize she was put down until now. After reading the comments here I researched it. I am so sad...she was so young! But man what a gifted horse..although I am not a horse owner myself..I have great appreciation for such talent. *sigh* RIP Sweet girl..
Shes's having fun.....do you even have horses? This is how they look when they play and are having a ball with people or with each other. I love to watch them in this kind of mood:) Horses love to have a job and do what they are good at, he is guiding or cueing her not huring her.
she's very young for the level she is at- if her transitions are shakey- just wait a few years- she'll be even more incredible if thats even possible- she's so awesome!
i just love this horses expression and movement. she gives so much to her rider. i mant to see this horse do the spanish walk. i think she would do it perfectly. it would be amazing to watch.
I love horses, but from now on, I love her... and my 2 years nephew too... She's so harmonyous, so elegant, so rhytmic, that I have to look her once, twice and more, 'till I remember I have to work... I would like to know who trained her and if she has that natural fealing -in Mexico we call it "jícamo"- about music... or it all is training... I don't think so... But, well, congratulations, Andreas for that marvelous friend...
@twistedminds14 This performance was spectacular! I think because Blu looks like she is enjoying it so much. I hope that she was but I have to wonder because of that training method. I appreciate so much that you are finding these videos and sharing them with me.
I watch this video and think that the horse looks like she's saying "Yes, this is *fun* and you *adore* me!" The rider is incredible as well, but that mare is definately the star of the show. Never seen a horse look so happy to be doing what it's doing.
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life! oooh see that girl, watch her sing, diggin' the Dancing Queen! Matine was the Dancing Queen, and forever will be :)
and to anybody who thinks that the mare is being forced into something that she doesn't want to do, think again. If you notice the froth in her mouth, that proves it. The frothing means that she's relaxed and working the bit. She's enjoying what she's doing.
the swishing of the tail is good thing it has nothing to do with the horses being in pain or not the movement of the tail shows that the muscles are working correctly . and foaming at the mouth is all so a good thing the foam is just excess amount of spit lol
Sasha Bharti No it's not excess foam is because she has annoying metal in her mouth. And any real horseman knows that tail movement is a sign of irritation!
By body language you can tell that the horse is actually enjoying herself. A lot of dressage moves are pretty natural! Now, not all horses like dressage, but it's obvious that this one does. When doing dressage you have to make it fun and interesting for the horse, many horses loves dressage because it's something interesting, and allows them to bond with their owner/rider/trainer.
This comment just for the audiance-This horse looks like a Star, she is great, she seems to enjoy the act. Now - with this rider it's quite normal. Andreas is one of the best, and I believe, a very good dancer (I can't proof that, I am male and dont dance with males .. hihi). Now, the point, I have seen other vids of Andreas and feel that he is preparing this horse for much more. It must be a challange if you consider the huge body of here. I would like to know Andreas`s opinion about this.
@horsefeathersgirl100 about this time last year i think, she broke or fractured her leg (i don't know the exact details) whilst out in the field and was put down. they were very quiet and didn't much more details than that (or maybe i couldn't find them) but i remember there was a lot of talk about whether she was in foal or not. if she was, thats such a sad loss of a wonderful mare and foal :(
her name is Blue Horse Matine- the owner of the dressage horse i ride knows Blue's rider, Andreas Helgstrand! Blue is a beautiful horse- she came 2nd when just 9 years old at the WEG2006 Freestyle final! i think she has been retired though, i was tol she went lame whilst teaveling somewhere. hopefully they will breed some nice foals out of her :) xxx
I dont think I have ever seen a dressage horse actually enjoy herself as much as this one is! I took my adopted horse into a dressage ring once and he pinned his ears and backed righ out of it, but he's fine with any other arena lol
i adore this horse- i love her to peices! she isnt dead, she has been retired due to lameness. i think they are planning to breed from her :) also i do dressage myself, and too anybody who thinks its cruel- YOU ARE WRONG! the whole meaning and point of dressage is to learn to work as one with the horse, show off its natural expression, and work with the horses natural rythem and self carriage. its bloody hard work, but they love it, and the outcome is an amazing feeling :) x x
