I absolutely agree, Ron. I have seen Phantom and Evita so many times, and listen to various recordings of the soundtracks of all three. This orchestration is simple stunning. Listening to this orchestra, I felt every bit as spellbound as when I was sitting in the uppermost row of the Curran Theater in San Francisco back in . . . oh, was it really 1994?
I just adore Sunset Boulevard....It is my favorite ALW musical, watched it 2 times in London; flew in from Istanbul just to watch them. I got the chance to listen to Glenn Close live on stage
I genuinely don’t understand why some people think he is a disgrace to musical theatre, or an awful thing to happen! I mean, I know people have their likes and dislikes, but the full on hatred is not necessary. I really can’t stand rap music, but I don’t think people like Kanye West or Will Smith are untalented and disgraceful! I don’t like the genre, that’s all, but for people who do I’m sure their music is great!
Thank you all for the wonderful Music along with your time and enjoyment. Your faces and movements showed how much you enjoyed yourselves, along with Andrew and his love of sharing knowledge and sounds with imagination. I have and heard everything he has written and back in years past with Time Rice. Thank you again for the love of music!!!
Wow applause 👏 all to this huge orchestra coming together as one ☝️ just wish I could be there to hear this exquisite music in person!!! But how wonderful we have technology to provide such joy of listening. 💕
Thank you, Andrew! You are the Master of musicals! Your music makes my soul fly! I am in awe with your magnificent Symphonic Suites! The orchestra is exquisite!
What a tour de force!! That huge orchestra takes you to a different level. Fills my heart with joy. Oh how I have missed the theatre during this pandemic. With Phantom back on stage again I can relive those wonderful songs again. Andrew has given us so much online during the lockdowns around the world.
Wow what a grand salute to the finest symphonic scores to the best Lord Lloyd Webber musicals we have fell in love with. To be playing on the stage to the newly Renovated Theatre Royal Drury Lane is a musical note in itself. Congratulations to the orchestra and everyone at LW Theatres, Really Useful Group Ltd.and Lord Lloyd Webber for making this album possible and for bringing it to Homes across the World. x
Sunset Blvd is incredible. Surely one of the greatest musicals ever. These suites are all stunning. Would like to see ENO work with Sir Andrew to redo these shows with full orchestra ! Bravo all involved.
I have never heard of sunset blvd until I listened to this video and I like the jazzy up beat music that it has. I will have to watch this musical someday.
Andrew Llloyd Webber is quite simply a master of melody. He creates such perfect, timeless melodies. Not just a great composer of musicals but one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.
ALW is really a genius when it comes to musicals…I love how the Sunset Blvd is played. And of course the Phantom is something not to ignore…Am listening and watching this in my daughter’s terrace while having a sip of my coffee. What an afternoon…When we grow older we tend to be tender and feel the love of someone who’s gone. Am teary eyed…Bravo the musicians who played their piece…Hands off to them.
My greatests applause to all musicians involved in that magnificent production, their god given talent is so amazing that gave us joy and happiness and gained access to a world class orchestra.
The wonderful Simon Lee doing his thing. Sunset Boulevard is a real gem, such a melodic heartfelt score, Woodwind on point and fantastic arrangements. The Phantom of the Opera always thrills, especially good to hear the ‘twisted every way’ section that often gets left out of suites but forms such a core moment in the score. Really good to see and hear. Would love an encore performance of Aspects of Love as a full suite alongside Love Never Dies and perhaps The Woman in White. Great work and worth the wait.
@@brianaustin5467 had a listen. 4 note phrase does not a song make. If you did look at it from a musicologist standpoint the ALW continuation of the phrase shows more nuance and sophisticated development of initial theme.
Yes, I hope there will be a suite for Aspects of Love one day. I understand the reasons why this musical wasn't quite successful, but I wish "Love changes everything" wasn't the only thing left from it nowadays (as much as I love the song though)
Gosh, I absolutely adore musical score for Sunset Boulevard! It's so stunningly beautiful, elegant like Norma herself and captures the essence of her world so well. And then this brilliant, haunting fast motive that foreshadows the tragic outcome of the story. It reminds me of Verdi's La Forza del Destino overture and it's a masterpiece! Thank you!
I couldn't agree more. It is sublime. With One Look especially captures the tenderness of Miss Desmond's soul. It's so full of joy and hope - and majesty. x
Hearing this my second time while I lounge my day away. I'm feeling the need to ground my being in the love that flows through these songs. Listening to the new talks by CatherineAustin Fitts is quite sobering. Let me begin my day with GOD. In the glory of music that induces a calm and creative hope within. Thank you. 🌹
WOW - so fantastic to hear this orchestra! thank you to all that have been involved in producing this. Must admit I don't know the music of Evita and Sunset Boulevard but oh boy I know the Phantom inside out and back to front and it was MAGIC!!!!
I found the movie of Evita was much better at telling the history of Eva Peron. I remember reading the story in the record album of the stage production to get a better idea of the story. The movie is much more emotional too. Whether you approve or disapprove of some of the things that Eva did, you really feel for the person!
@@emtnet hi Marie - I did see the film many many years ago with Madonna and was impressed with her but I have not listened to the music since then except the famous ones! I have not seen the show only the film but have to agree that she was an incredible person.
Amazing! I don’t know the first 2 shows but the music was beautiful, and phantom was of course fantastic 😊 I especially liked the part at the end just after all I ask of you. Thank you for sharing it with us!
If you don't know Evita or Sunset Boulevard but seem to like ALW, you need to start listening to the cast recordings. Both with Patti LuPone are the best.
Indeed I agree Joseph and the amazing..runner up Webber rocks in any Musical with a Webber signature Andrew.Johnny Seatons mother in law Irene Carlson.Retired owner Arguz Antiques Torontob. You are truly Blessed and we are too that share your greatness Andrew.May God keep you making music that so many of your many followers enjoy forever!
This popped up on my phone as I paused for prayer/reflection while trying to plan my morning with only 1 hour of care to help me get up instead of the needed 2 people and the full 3and a half hours allotted...There is balm in Gilead indeed... I'm loving seeing the musicians and the glorious conductor ..music played with such brio( Ive just reached Sunset Boulevard.)
Thank you Andrew Lloyd Webber for your incredible musical treasures, may they live forever! When I hear your music, my heart pounds and tears come to my eyes.
I was extremely lucky to have attended most of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals at the west end with the original casts ( Phantom twice ) Now after almost fifty years I get the same thrills & admiration that leave me just speechless Bravo to all these musicians one by one & the conductor especially ❤❤
I adore Sir Andrew’s music…some of the most beautiful melodies ever written! Love the Evita score….with such a variety of genres ….marches,waltzes,ballads….syncopation!This arrangement fully highlights the brilliance of the score🎶❗️
A truly timeless, enchanting, magnificent score!!!! Bravi! Bravi! Bravissimi!!! 🌹Phantom of the Opera will always have a special home in my heart. Thank you, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, for igniting my love for the arts with this brilliant score!!!!!!! Tears are just flowing at 1:05:56!!! I have always loved the orchestration for Point of No Return, Phantom of the Opera, Music of the Night, All I Ask of You - really, all of it!!! 😭 Can we just take a moment to admire those incredible horn features?! 😭😭😭
What I think is amazing is watching the instruments make me hear them more. I never realized how much was going on until now. Absolutely brilliant! Been watching this on loop and have lost count.
Wish ALW had done Love Never Dies. The music in LND is super gorgeous and would be stunning to play as an orchestral piece. Sadly, LND is always straight off ignored.
@@brianaustin5467 Actually, the score for THE APPARTMENT was composed by Adolph Deutsch, but I guess you're right thought : phuongng59 will love that theme... ;-) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-waLsDyqljGg.html
Bravo… a small lump formed in my throat as I was reminded of the first time seeing these three shows in London. To think that there was a point where we had no idea if we would experience the Theatre the same ever again. Congratulations!
Thank you for sharing this with us. It's lovely, it made me reminisce about my time in music school. There's nothing more uplifting than music and it's been a pleasure to listen to these arrangements.
