I'm agnostic but everytime I listen to this I feel a connection to something.

I was honored to direct a choir singing this in St. Paul’s Cathedral. Never did I feel so much peace and sheer joy in making music! I thank God for his blessings, and I thank AYC for using the gift of music to give children the opportunity to travel the globe making music.

I can also remember Sarah Brightman and Paul Miles Kingston receiving a special award from the Archbishop of Canterbury for doing so well. Well done to Sarah and Paul. Finally, a big thank you to Andrew Lloyd-Webber for writing a masterpiece like this.

OMG, this was a hard song to track down. I heard it once, and didn't know the person who wrote the song or the singers and given my lack of memory of words or the language. Some how I found it because of the oboe. I'm so glad I found it, it is a masterpiece.

I'm no longer a young person. I was a teen when Jesus Christ Superstar was so glorious (played that vinyl album ALWAYS!). But ALW's music just keeps getting more and more stunning, and the performances more and more other-wordly. Simply amazing.

This is a classic piece of Music by ALW for sure...The story line is deep but the voice of Sara Brightman makes it a CLASSIC...She’s phenomenal

Love this one to bits but then I adore Andrew Lloyd Webber. I want this played at my funeral. Yes he did dedicate it to his father. To the person who said he ripped off Faure you should listen to the two together. The one is nothing like the other. I studied the Faure version for CSE music in school. To the person who said that Sarah should "role" her r's in this I agree in part though Andrew Lloyd Webber is noted for insisting on having everything sung as he wrote it, something which Sarah, as his ex wife, she would be well aware of. She sings this submilely.

I find it amazing that this is by a man known more for Broadway. A friend of mine is an opera singer, and it was by her I learned of this piece. It is the one thing I always have her sing for me.

Inspired by two separate tragedies-a journalist who had interviewed him just weeks before dying in Northern Ireland as a result of the IRA conflicts, and the story of a Cambodian boy who was forced to murder his mutilated sister or be executed himself-Andrew Lloyd Webber took to writing music as a way to cope with and express his grief. When he finished his Requiem, Webber dedicated it to his father who passed away in 1982. Webber's Requiem is his most personal composition, and his only fully completed classical work.

Crikey, I remember Sarah Brightman when she was lead vocals with the group ' Hot Gossip ', lol. Their most successful song was ' I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper ' She and her group had the holy rollers up in arms, with their skimpy costumes and raunchy,(for the times), dance routines. She was something of a sexy rock chick, lol. That was back in 1978 when I was an 18 year old. Was watching her on day time TV last week where she was talking about her latest venture and her involvement with training to be a cosmonaut, though this has come to an end. She has an incredible vocal style and deserves to be at the top of her game. And this Pie Jesu is the definitive version.
