So many people who haven't done anything of significance trying to feel superior by shooting down this plug-in. If you've learned anything about audio, the ONLY thing that matters is how it sounds. Not how you got there. If a mix made off presets and one knob plugs is better than yours, it's better.

The only thing that matters is how it sounds BUT just if you're the client. If you're the engineer or mixer in my opinion of course does matter, cause its always important to know what youve done to get there, so you wont be losing time and effort while trying to get certain sound or balance, or fx in some mixes in the future. And about people shooting down this plugin, yeah, i think they just need to learn how to use it. Andrew is just amazing.

@@SebastianJeri nice I wanted to write the same. Furthermore this Plugin will not work at all kind of Sounds. I saw a tutorial and thought, ou fuck. I would use this and this Plugin to get a better mix. It is working on this Vid, but without knowing how, you will get a problem of making an album sounding the same.

Andrew Scheps, you just might be one of the most enjoyable and coolest engineers I've had the pleasure of watching give advice on audio engineering. You are well honed to the fact that sound and imagery is so perceptual, yet universally relevant, that regardless of how one may or may not try to intellectualize what we do, and the tools we use to achieve it; the result of said application is WHAT IT IS, regardless of the instrument we use to get there (however old, romantic, time consuming; or New and innovative it may be). You realize and demonstrate that what is most important is that the end result "effect" is indeed WHAT it IS and that it 'does' what it 'does!!' Watching you talk about what this plugin actually does, with the wonderful sidebar comments you include, makes me want to step away from the minutia of what we do as producer/engineers and enjoy conversation over a glass of VERY good wine, or libation of your choice, and have a great talk about life in general; realizing that life is much more enjoyable without pining over what tools we use to get to where we need to be at the end of the day. Amazing sound is what we live for, but there is much more life to live outside the minutia of chasing an illusive and magical fairy that promises the same result with a single approach within myriad of possibilities, via a single application. BUT, what's VERY cool about your presentation is that this plugin allows exactly that sort of flexibility!!! Mind you, I've had a very good glass of wine before posting this comment that you probably won't ever see. Ha! I commend you on a great demonstration of your 'Parallel Particles' plugin. It's definitely eye candy as well as ear candy, that seems to achieve exactly what you intend for it to achieve as a sound tool. Bravo!!

I like this! Multiple parallels in one operation, and the results are quite impressive. It did what you'd expect on drums, but I was especially impressed at what it did on bass, and vocals. Where I felt it truly shined, was on the whole mix. This was already a good mix, but it breathed life into it, and once you've heard it, you don't want to go back to the original. That was impressive.

Now this is “fly on the wall“ perfection. Thanks so much to Andrew Sheps and Waves for putting this together. I really appreciate the way you show how everything works and A/B in between processed and unprocessed. It feels natural, fluent and most of all insightful at a really good pace. I‘ve used the plug-in for a while now on basically everything and couldn’t be more satisfied with it. Watching this just makes me so happy to see the Master have so much fun with his creation and share it with everyone. Can‘t wait for the next Scheps plug-in ^^ pretty please :)

T.I.N Mateus I wouldn't recommend it as a first plugin. Look into good quality, more simple plugins, as in just EQ, compression or saturation. There are many affordable, good quality plugins. Check out plugin alliance or audiodeluxe, or brands like klanghelm and SKnote. Understand what each of them does before using all-in-one plugins like this.

@octopusonfire100 7 лет назад
T.I.N Mateus Cool, my point is that it's not the plugin, but your ability to use it for the needs of the mix. This one will do everything you say if you use it correctly, but will screw up your mix if you don't, but I'd say it's only the icing on the cake. You need a good foundation to make it shine.

I wouldn't use it on the final mix bus, but if that works for then hey that's great! This plugin has a very specific sound that I really like, but not in all cases. It's the kind of plugin that I use when I'm out of ideas to make something "pop" a bit more and this one usually does the job in an effective way.

I love what this does sound-wise. As with any gear, it's how you adjust it. Adjusted with care, judiciousness (mostly)and requisite love, I think this is a great way to quickly sculpt rock/modern tones--for further refinement, perhaps. But I like this approach as a way to efficiently ballpark the types of tones Scheps is known for and then take it from there, if necessary (and of course it will be most of the time). The transient design inherent in this setup is really a terrific end-result of what is going on here under the hood.

I find this plugin is amazing on all sound sources. There's nothing clever about going through a convoluted / experienced ?process if there are other quicker ways to get to the real crux which is moulding sonics (preferably in the moment). Well done Andrew Scheps & Waves on this. ;). Another similar plugin to look out for is Waves' 'Infected Mushroom Pusher'

I have this plugin, I enjoy it. Please remember: this plugin and all the Scheps plugs I have used offer something- not that you will always want that - just like mandolin is not great on every song.. but damn is it good on the right song... The idea of parallel compression is kind of Scheps recipe and although I have only recently gone this route in some of my mixes, there is certainly some credibility here. Andrew is a talent - For those doubters, please take a sec and study parallel compression - and like most good things Moderation is the KEY. Andrew has some other videos on RU-vid that discuss using this technique only in choruses, and song endings, to add a boost that ads energy, and when the song ends, the listener should want to restart the song...(which is a good goal) - obviously what sounds good, sounds good... use your ears.. but I personally enjoy this plugin greatly - used correctly its a good weapon

I got the Scheps Omni Channel and it blew my mind. I think it beats any other channel strip plugin (easily.) So I tried Scheps 73 EQ. Normally I prefer standard parametric EQs but... something about Scheps 73 had "good results immediately" even with 'knobs.' So naturally I have to get this next since the first two are so good. (Omni Channel is a must own.)

Bottom Line: it works. Biggest problem for me is that these RU-vid Vids are WAY TOO QUIET to actually hear the differences. I had to crank my monitor output way beyond where I EVER go to hear these vids in my headphones and had much trepidation to go to 3-o'Clock on the headphone volume dial. Most everything I listen to is at 11 or 12 in the clock-version-speech of level setting. Boo on that one. Get your output levels up to pro level. So, Waves offered a special and I bought it like I did with the Butch Vig Vocals because I want my students to DE-construct what they hear in these simple knob configurations of the "signature sound" of whomever is behind it. AND it's a great tool for my "research the engineers" projects I make my students do throughout a semester. It used to be that they had to DIG DEEP to get info on studio engineering tips and tricks. Now, they can add researching a new plug in by X-Y-Z engineer/producer. This doesn't mean, by any stretch of the imagination, that they can be a Scheps, Vig, Maserati, Kramer, or Lord-Alge, et al. Remember, pro pals, it's about our EARS and understanding of myriad things (miking, acoustics, sources, gain structure, etc.) These Waves plugs are just a great part of digital learning these days. I thank these amazing engineer/mixer/producers for putting forth their ideas through WAVES PLUGS that focus on that known entity personal sonic sculpting. HUGE FAN! Just professional-ize the sound output of the vids!

In my opinion, this plugin really helps on drums and bass part👍🏻. However, I think the demo that putting this plugin in the stereo bus destroy a bit of the whole mix and over compressing the mix. Even more, although the vocals are standing out after adding this plugin, the vocals become not glue into the music 😭

You're probably better off just getting really acquainted with EQ, resonant filters, analog filters and compression. That's basically everything the plugin is doing, and you'd have to learn that sooner rather than later anyway. I love Waves plugins, how concise and effective they usually are, but this one doesn't hit the mark for me. It's too simple, and very little bang for your buck if you already have a decent DAW. Of course I strongly advise rearranging your household budget, but that money could instead go to some real nice Pultec outboard EQ! ;)

People hate on this plugin because it Isent clears what it’s doing. Yes it sounds good, but at a high professional level you want to know everything youre doing, especially when you want to make tweaks. An no professional likes “thickness” or “air” call it what it is. Is it a 60 boost? A 5k boost? I’m not hating on this but it’s clear this is for beginners. If you’re a pro an use this it’s fine, cuz you’re ears are probably trained good enough that you know what it’s doing for just a little bit of tweaks. But all these ppl in here complaining they don’t understand why this is not used in high end production shows the education. If you wanna learn, you should learn these tricks the real way so you have full control. But hey, this is just another producer comment that’s had to much coffee 🤷🏼‍♀️

people this tools are meant to make you work faster by getting your tracks on the ball park asap...they are not meant to be one knob ...go to mastering now. Same way a lot of people use Rvox to get a vocal track a little bit better is the same way another person would use any signature series plugin to make a piano sound better quickly. You still have to do some work on it. They are just tools.

This is in the actual revolution of producing/engineering as more and more musicians are taking charge of the engineering aspect even if they don't know how to use processing. Among many new plugins like the signature series (see JJP video presenting his serie of plugins) I am wondering if those plugins will make products all sound alike. Waves is responding to a growing demand from unqualified users to make it easier for them. This is marketing. I guess everybody wants to add "punch", "magic" and "air" to their sound but how will this end up?

This plugin and the Butch Vigs plugin visually look like they were designed for gamers

Man, practically all of his tracks are in the yellow. I get that with 32 bit this is fine. But it seems to me that this would have a negative effect on the plugins, that are all pretty much designed to operate at lower levels. At least in my experience. And according to the manuals. But hey, rule number one, if it sounds good, it is good.

or, they could change the settings on plugins with your eyes closed so that you don't judge it on any visuals. thats what i do most of the time anyway.

Wishing the subs had survived the RU-vid codec, not much below 120 is audible.

This plugin is not normal at all. Don't let the 4 knobs fool you. It seriously is a good plugin.

People here do not understand that to get the big results, you need the best recording equipment too, and most people do not have this, so plugins are almost the only way to get the big results now.
