Ah, this is one thing that this navi cannot cofigure (in details). You are able to turn both modes on and off, but you are not able to configure details of the sport mode. This actually doesnt bother me much as I'm using sport mode with all default options "on" anyway.

Yes they did, though at the first time I forgot to connect a small plug with panel power and had the same problem. If is easy to miss that one, it's very small - make sure you got it plugged, it comes from factory loom.

Ben Garside no radio problems here mate, but I have to admit that I don't really use it very often. If I am listening to something while driving, it would be mp3 set for 95% of time. Though I've read on our local insignia forum that some guys living I rural areas do have some radio problems and they do complain on rds too. I've never had any problems not with radio, not rds data, but living in Warsaw I'm always directly within range of any of the local station antennas

No problems with the radio, everything works well. The additional speaker is for all system sounds like open door, seat belt chimes or indicators. So it is a must because without it there will be a dead silence. I've placed mine's just below left vent, there is some place that can be used for it and external mic (useful not only for bt calls but also speech recognition).

Sure. Gps is a bit tricky: you need to open the speaker cover using one of the tools for upholstery removal - just lift it up starting from the edge closest to you. There will be a couple of plastic snaps for holding it there - just pull it up until you can fit your hand there. Afterwards you can just push the gps cable from there using small tunnel leading to the main display compartment. the antenna can be placed directly on the speaker (flat) or next to it (vertically, though the reception stays roughly the same). As for the mic and speaker placing: there is a hollow space right under the left-middle vent and it is perfect for both of these, you can actually lock both of them there even without pads or double sided tape. No DAB for me as there STILL is no digital radio broadcast in Poland :( But I am thinking about DVBT tuner as the unit has everything ready for it. Maybe somewhere in the future :)

+courtneyg06 Good luck with the install, it's fairly easy job to do. Basic (since you don't need anything fancy) DVB-T tuner costs ~25$ - it's not much compared to the unit price, though for me priority was rear view camera (15$ or something like that)

rocheuro dzięki za miłe słowo :) na forum Insignia club pl jest wątek o stacji KR-8035 (google znajduje od razu, z telefonu nie wrzucę szybko linka) i tam jest od początku gdzie kupić, jak założyć i mój post z info jak zrobić taki wygląd + link do materiałów. Sama stacja ma język polski ale w paru miejscach są braki, można też ustawić język systemowy na angielski. mi akurat obojętne :)

dzieki narazie mecze sie z instalacja.. po zlozeniu i ipodlaczeniu kabli (dosc proste) wyswietla mi informacje Thief Deterrent System .. co prawda auto odpala ale nawet potencjometry na desce nie dzialaja.. ekran sie nie podswietla od navi , po przywroceniu orginalnego panelu (tego z malym monochromatycznym wyswietlaczem) nie dziala mi radio ani wyswietlacz.. , dziala klima.. musz poczytac bo albo spalil sie jakis bezpiecznik albo cos rozprogramowałem... :/

Sorry for late answer. I didnt have to configure anything, it worked this way by deafult. There is a setting for keys mapping (in system settings) but I never had the need to reconfigure anything.

Amadu Koroma Thanks for a good word :) All buttons on central console and driving wheel work fine, I think you can even do some remapping to configure them to your liking. I've left them with default settings because I am using basically only wheel controls.

Amadu Koroma sounds good enough to make me stick dampening mats and replace stock speakers with Hertz HSK set. Seriously, amp section is so good that it becomes bottleneck only when using really nice drivers. And you get all Android players goodies - Neutron with FLAC and custom EQ makes wonders. If you'd like to go even higher then unit has all channel amp bypass preouts available on RCA's so you can easily plug them into dedicated amplifier.

@@k4syx Yeah I did hard reset to factory settings and now seems like working fine. I was needed to connect keyboard to the usb, switch on the android unit, wait till that logo appears on boot up, then with keyboard holding alt+print screen and repeatedly keep pressing" i" on keyboard forces the unit go into menu where can restore everything (like the phones). Anyway do I alone have little noise on background while listening music?

regedege a jest tu gdzieś niżej i na forum. Najpierw użyłem starszego modemu 3g, działało, ale upierdliwie długo po zapłonie szukało zasięgu. Potem kupiłem przenośny router z portem USB (któryś z modeli TP-Link, rozmiaru kostki mydła), wpiąłem w niego modem Huawei LTE z kartą Aero2. W ten sposób sama stacja łączy się tak naprawdę po wifi, bardzo szybko i stabilnie, kto w samochodzie chce to też ma sieć z tego punktu. A że router zasilany jest także z USB i bardzo mały, to schowałem go za deską w całości.

It can be done from bluetooth app used to pair the unit with phone - same as youd be paring your mobile or a handsfree headset, though I've read that some guys had problems if the OBD interface required PIN to connect. Mine doesnt and it works fine, though there is a caveat: my inteface is visible and ready for pairing only for 5 minutes after plugging into the car, if I wont find it with car app it that time I have to remove it and plug it again. Of course, when paired correctly, it will auto reconnect on next power on so it can stay plugged all the time.

Sergio Martins yes the sport mode and flex mode buttons work fine though the car configuration app is not able to change sport mode detailed settings (for example disable sport mode for suspension). the guy in the factory said that they couldn't get hands on insignia with sport mode. anyway, as long as you're ok with sport mode defaults (everything on) it works flawlessly.

k4sys, in a spanish forum, somebody posted that if you push de SPORT button change all the modes (suspension, throttle, steering) however the dashboard don´t change in red colour. do you have this problem? Thanks

Sergio Martins nope, everything works fine. note that there are many different units for insignia and I am specifically talking and using unit called KR-8035. maybe other ones do have some issues.

surprisingly good, actually it sounds way better than original CD400. when I've replaced CD400 with this android unit I've noticed how crappy stock speakers are - I've deadened front doors and now I'm rocking Hertz HSK there.with neutron player as the music source it sounds amazing, even without external amp as this android unit is able to drive them quite ok. of course not at their full rated power (2x250W I think) but at 2x60 or 2x70W (I'd have to check this) it is more than enough for interior of the car. I'll try not to forget to make additional video about this.

Marc Codling I don't think so, it was meant for cars without factory Navi unit. You can try to look around at AliExpress as there may be newer devices: after all it's been like 1,5 or 2 since I've bought it.. cheers.

MrJimmyJay100 as far as I remember you need to place it on the SD card (in root folder, un-rared) and use one of the menus protected by numeric codes (as in manual). in one of them there is a simple update firmware option.

I looked at Nova prime launcher.It does not have the functionalities to achieve the same user interface as yours. How did you set it?

Well i actually has - maybe not directely - but I'm using it in a special way. You see the wallpaper has icons and descriptions embedded in it, and I needed to add transparent buttons over my icons - thats the first place where Nova comes handy. You are able to edit the shortcut icon and replace it with transparent png, you can also remove captions. I suppose you could achieve the same by using UCCW for example (and this was my first choice) but the widgets are way slower than app shortcuts during boot up - so I had to wait until weather and clock could be visible before I could press anything. The second time when I need Nova is to remove dock and statusbars, so they wont show in the upper and lower sides of the screen. At the same time I am able to show them on demand, using two fingers swipes :)

jose luis romero sosa nope, the firmware is clean, stock software. mods (wallpaper, icons etc) - that's Dropbox contents for manual replacement. you always need to edit the wall to include your icons and app names.

jose luis romero sosa you really need to be sure that this is exactly the same device as wrong firmware may brick your unit. the flash option is hidden in Android configuration menu somewhere near the end. I'd have to get a screenshot but I'm on business trip with company car :(

Giorgos Charitos Hi there! You can choose in settings if you want to turn off the radio with ignition off, or if it should stay on. I don't understand second question, about the flag. If you're asking about boot logo (animated Opel logo) than it is displayed with power on only, so basically only once.

António Alves Hi there! Dzień dobry! :) Everything works fine, as expected. I also do car diagnostic from time to time and as you'd expect the possible problems with CAN comms were something I was worried about too, but to my relief after extensive checks with different diag equipement everything works fine and there are no (not even a single one and it has already been more than a year) problems. This unit (as most others) are using CAN communication IC - it takes care of all data exchange. So: do not worry about what people from ASO say and "just do it". One note though: do not buy from Allegro unless you have a specific reason to. Unless it has changed during last year the prices here compared to Aliexpress prices were insane. I've paid 1500 PLN for my unit (DHL shipping included) and the same unit at this time was priced 2500-2700 locally. For this amount of money (1k more) I got original set of Hertz HSK speakers and a set of top of the line gold dampening mats along with totl foams. That's a lot of money! BTW I am visiting Poznań on regular basis (though lately usually by train :))

Hi, So after some months I was checking Aliexpress and the SmartRover shop had the radio on promotion ($352 USD+ $25 USD for shipping and taxes)... therefore I bought it on June 22nd and arrived today, I was actually quite surprised it took not too long time... Now my big adventure would be to install it, for which they sent me a tool as well... :D But I still need to check how to remove all dahboard/console covers and elements and install all new radio, display and rear camera, so my quesiton: Do you know good instructions out there on internet how to do it apart from youtube videos? rear camera is wired from one of the license plate lights, the buttons: -config starts car configuration app, -radio starts radio, -info starts navi app, -digits let you dial or jump to favorite radio station.

+Red One you're welcome :) Camera: a cheap one designed to fit Astra and Insignia - there is basically just one type sold by many, many sellers on eBay or Ali. Just pick the cheapest one. I was thinking about going for wireless adapters but it's pointless, the cable is easy to fit through the car and the only bit that requires some fiddling is removing the rear bumper. I'm pretty sure that if I'd be doing this again I'd manage it without removing it though. The camera cable connects (rca jack) to the reverse camera input on the main unit, then goes behind the glovebox (lots of space there begging to be filled with tv tuner), then downwards behind front pillar plastic pane, then all the way back to the rear seat under another long pane (I'm missing a word in English to name it properly). It fits just behind the rear seat and there you are - just a simple finish behind boot side lining and center plastic. The fiddly part is going through the loom opening as this requires some access from the other side (that's why I removed the rear bumper, it is 30 minutes job anyway). Camera power is connected to rear fuse box - (-) to some chassis point (there is a couple of them already there) and (+) to one of the fuses. The whole camera instal took me about 2 hours with pollen filter change (once you have the glove box removed you can do it as well). Cheers!

Is there any quality difference for the camera on Ali or is it just one single part? Is there any accessible USB port ? To plug flash disk or cellular modem ? From what I understood you are using a wifi modem or wifi tethering from your phone. Last question is there any specific connection to ensure that this is synchronized when you put the reverse gear ? Or does the nav get the info from CAN directly ?

Actually wireless transmitters may cause issues - you will have to connect +12V to both of them so there will be some more work on the front. As for the quality: it is one whole part that replaces one of the plate lights - you just take the old one out, remove the bulb and place it in the camera one and thats it. There are two USB ports that can be accessed by the user and there is a USB extender cable with nice plug that you can install in your armrest or glove box. Personally I gave up using 3g dongles connected directly as the new ones (like E3131 from Huawei) are not supported, and supported ones (like E1750) are rather old and hard to find on the market. Im using portale wifi/3g mini router from D-Link with Huawei E3131. This gives me wifi access point in the car, head unit connects using wifi and the whole thing boots really fast so it is always ready and accessible when Android head unit needs to connect. Reverse gear info is taken directly from CANbus so no additional cable fiddling there. There is also a nice touch for parking sensors (not visible on my movie as there was nothing in their range): the information from the sensors is not only audible (as beeps) but also visible as radar lines on the display so you can actually see that the distance to obstacle is lowering :)

Michal Pcola Hi! (Cześć) Looks like you've altered somehow software configuration of the device, if the touch screen would actually be broken then it wouldn't be responding at all. So yes, the best way would be to reset the device to default settings, for example by flashing firmware. So the advice is solid. The problem is that the only way of flashing that I know is through settings menu which is inaccessible in your case. I do not know anything about entering recovery and flashing through cables - could you share the details? Have you tried looking at xda forums? There are some guides for unbricking unresponsive devices.

This is the answer from seller regarding my question - how to flesh firmware in my case. ### Do it as what you usually do, after you connect it with USB input from the player. Find the K1 or K2 wire from the power cables, connect one of them to the iron part from the DVD box. Then put ACC OFF for 20 seconds and ON, it will start the update. ### I tried it with USB, bootable USB, SDcard, also tried to disconnect/connect cable from car battery, but still unsuccessful. I can't get radio to the boot/update mode. When I turn ON ACC, radio still start normally. I checked few forums, but can't find anything useful.

Nope, I tried to connect K1 and K2 separate and later also together to the iron part of the DVD box (head unit), turn OFF/turn ON ACC, update should to start, but update didn't start

Michal Pcola the way I read it, you should connect USB with unpacked update in root directory to the unit, then remove the key and connect the wire to chassis (that would be also dvd casing) and after these 20 seconds try to ignite and boot the device. Though myself instead of only waiting 20 sec I would try to just remove power wiring from the unit just to be sure that it will do clean power up.

Robert Lukawski Poszukaj w Google jak wyglądają te radia co podałem i sam zobaczysz czy takie masz. Na 99% tak, bo inaczej miałbyś kolorowy wyświetlacz z nawigacją. Ten sprzęt można kupić na Ali, poszukaj sklepu Smart Rover (niżej w komentarzach chyba jest link). Do UK też wysyłają :) Ustawienia samochodu wszystkie są, na filmiku pokazałem aplikację która to robi. Jedyne czego nie ma, to ustawień trybu Sport - ale to detal bo na domyślnych jest ok. BTW pytałem o to producenta i po prostu nie mają pod ręką takiego samochodu żeby skopiować.

Na Ali. Teraz mają już mocniejsze nawet sprzętowo, są też takie z większym ekranem. Takie jak moja chodzą teraz po około 500pln, wtedy 1200 chyba dałem. Te fajniejsze teraz tyle kosztują. Na Ali jak poszukasz "Insignia android" to będzie w czym wybierać, także z wysyłką z Polski.

regedege witam! Mikrofon był w zestawie, podpiąłem bo ten wbudowany za słabo zbiera. GPS tak jak mówię na filmie siedzi na głośniku centralnym, na górze deski: tam najlepiej zbiera, a centralny i tak jest odpięty. Co do Wi-Fi to nie wiem co to amplifier :) Ja korzystam z przenośnego routera LTE/Wifi, wielkości pudełka od zapałek. Zasilany z USB radia siedzi schowany w tunelu.

a może podać Pan model tego routera? Rozumiem że, ma Pan w nim kartę sim i z niej internet?

regedege nie, mam tam lokalnie na sd około 3000 FLAC. Do Spotify albo innego strumieniowania włożyłbym Nju, tam na drugiej karcie mam 30gb miesięcznie za 9 PLN. Ale tak jak piszę, nie korzystam więc po co :)
