20:57 Alien Activity starts and the camera focuses on a pidgeon. CLEARLY BIRBS ARE ALIEN GOVERNMENT DRONES, THE SIGNS ARE EVERYWHERE!!1! Good job commander, got us good with the point refund reward suspense haha.
Hey Pete. So excited to have my character in your video! The former pronunciation is correct. Rapid Fire sounds like a cool direction to go, but I'm happy to leave the tactics in your capable hands!
Also kind of a waste of your beacon, in my opinion; since an undivided codex will always open with psionic bomb. I'd have saved it to burn the first turn of the entire final pod, and the resulting peace of mind to be more aggressive about approaching the objective. But I'm being a bit pedantic; obviously a player of your skill level doesn't need to be 100% efficient to come away victorious and unscathed.
The mission photo taken in front of the gas station gets me. "Hey! Remember that? We were going to blow that gas station and all those cars up!" "Heh! Yeah, I remember. But then the enemy moved away from it so there was no need to blow it up." "Yeah... But we still COULDA."
Typhoon doing good shred + holo-targetting really makes it clear how Aimbot Heavy Machine Gunners are just as valuable as Big Booms Grenadiers, I really wanna see more of that
How's this for a combo - rapid shot + holo targeting, extra action from bondmate, chain shot, with an optional dual strike triggered by a bondmate. Sounds too good to pass up, personally.
Not going to lie. I always hated post-recoding commentary, but Pete is the only one who does it just right, and I adore it. It's so entertaining to watch.
@@lefterismplanas4977 I like to think it's his way of protesting always getting put in the line of fire to take damage because he's "just a machine" and doesn't get injured the same way as the human characters 🤣
Algo booooost! Good ep today, I really enjoyed watching the "B series roster" of soldiers, it was a breath of fresh air! You should send Spark Julian to Garrus to "perform some calibrations" after the amount of 90+% shot he missed today!
With the random pigeon zoom, Operation God Stank, dropping an EZ on the ETs, & the (for Pete) crazy tactics, this episode has a slightly slapstick vibe
I wonder how quickly these battles would go if we could see all the turns happening simultaneously in real time. Like, the squad lands, they find aliens and in mere seconds the explosions blow up and the lasers blast and the aliens die, the objective is destroyed and the team evacs in under.. like, what? Two minutes? In and out like pros.
Been binging this for the last week or so and am seriously in awe of your ability to complete these mission flawless. I can only get flawless missions when I play with modded super soldiers like Spartans, N7's, StarCraft Ghosts, and Shinobi...That or I add shield vests so I have some wiggle room. Even with that I still often make some minor mistake and get hammered or they blow the floor out from under me and I take fall damage. Seriously just in awe, amazing job Commander.
Honestly the best strategy i do for utilize the entire hacking reward who refund the actions is to make it the last action you do with the specialist after you use all the other actions, so you can maximize that turn for everyone else. It helps me in a lot of situations, including wipe out 2 pods and leave space for overwatch a reinforcement drop.
I definitely love more episodes with much progress on the map. Getting the Geurila opps immediately was definitely underwhelming. But your episodes will never be boring!
If you don't have your entire team already picked out for the assault on the Hunter's base, it may be worth bringing Q T along with Rapid Fire for use against the sarcophagus. iirc using Rapid Fire or Chain Shot does risk a miss, despite it being an objective like the alien relays, but I think the damage potential could still be worth it.
It's insane how Remote Start is such a hard carry through the entire game; a conditional yet free 12 damage on a pod that makes them run for cover, which could be another fucking car like here. It doesn't even cost anything, not concealment or anything. Genuinely, insanely busted as a move and I'm surprised it wasn't nerfed
Aww man, I can't wait until another "oh shit" moment Something to really test the meddle of our strategies and troops I don't know what I think about Reapers and mimetic skins though, they both are a little too good for my taste
Looks to me like grenadiers should opt for More Shooting where they can: Holo targetting takes care of the -15 on both the second shot of Rapid Fire and any follow-ups on Chain Shot...
Hey Pete, great video! I'm a big fan of your XCOM videos. I was wondering if you're planning to do a Let's Play series of XCOM Chimera Squad? I'd love to see your take on the game.
I would unlock untouchable on QT and be aggressive with her. She'll use warsuit so she will be heavily armored and untouchable means you could put her outside of cover as bait. Untouchable will prevent 1 shot from landing and if there are more enemies, the heavy armor will help. Although there's a case to be made for unlocking chainshot/rapid fire on her as well in this configuration as having an aggressive playstyle will mean she'll be closer to enemies and have a higher hit chance which, paired with those abilities could be devastating.
A random thought/question since I've only played xcom 2 with wotc. In the base game, do you get special missions like blacksite, forge or golf ball? If so do those missions play out the same as usual without the chosen showing up?
Legend difficulty in disappointingly easy. From abusing mimic beacons to squad sight snipers during avenger missions, it is not too difficult. Rimworld handles higher difficulties much better.
