This made me smile on the inside when he gave that board away. What a good person this guy is. Good for powell peralta finding and letting him be himself.
Gotta respect andy 🤷🏾♂️ its smart how they're using him as the poster child of the new generation of skateboarding! We have been viewed as criminals for yeeaaarrsss and i think he is a great roll model for kids even tho he isnt "the best"
Back in the day...every pro had their own specific shape. Gator, Hawk, Hosoi....etc etc etc Andy is the dawn of the new age of true skateboarding. Shout out to Nora as well for having a dope custom shape!
I think it's great that Andy is such a big name in skating with his open minded approach to advancing the "technology" of skateboarding. Things had been real stagnant for a long time.
Very true about old school boards being tough for a tre flip but Jason Lee basic invented the perfect flick on an old school board way back. Also Eric Winkowski rips the hell outta his old school boards.
The reason why I got his deck is because this guy is genuine. He would have put all of his energy into making the best deck he could summon. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Got to meet Andy a couple days ago at a Swatch event, I was stoked when I heard he would be there. Super chill completely humble was on an experimental deck for his new graphic he showed me.
It must be a truly amazing feeling to be one of the best and most respected skaters in the world and to have everyone look at you and say 'This is what skateboarding needs right now"
Andy is the raddest! I love his insight on skateboarding! & reminding us to keep it fun! Seen him at Dew Tour & his “fun” park run was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in one of those “big name pro contests!” He wasn’t going super cutthroat & serious just to win, he was just being him & looked like he was genuinely having a good time.
I got my hands on an 8.45 last week that I'm setting up to ride and got the bigger one to hang on my wall. They aren't hard to come by if you know where to look. Putting Indy 149s on it...1/4" risers, OJ 53 wheels with Bones Reds...
Andy Anderson and his board is what T Pain and autotune was for music. The fan base notices but call it corny because it's different. Like T Pain, some people will always call it corny but down the road the whole industry will be doing it.
Cool to hear the super scientific breakdown but to me looks like the perfect board to just cruise. I ride an 8.5 around NYC now but the extra size of this board & rad shape seem perfect.
lmao the first episode i saw with andy was where he was lit. cant believe how much sharper the dude actually is. nothing wrong with buzzin with the bois
The board should come with a manual I bet that would help it sell if people had a booklet to see why the board is shaped that way what part of the board is used for what tricks
@@stschannelt1476 definitely a lot of both. andy has kinda made freestyle cool again and as crob said that board is like an ATV for skateboarding. i wouldn't skate one regularly but i want one specifically to learn freestyle tricks
I bought the smaller 8.45 and I will never skate anything else like this board is such a game changer all my friends always say it’s not fair when I beat them at skate on flat and transition
Most humble skateboarder, big big visionary mind, a "mad scientist" side to make boards better(By its own conclusions, not with designers),great human being, nature and animan lover, and so much more! For my point of view, the best representation of what skateboarders should be sharing with all the world, passion, respect, willingness.., and his name is the name of my deceased lil brother, like a sign from thz universe itself and from my bro... If i wasn't that shy, i should ask him to sign me a board.., but i put it on my bucket list! Keep pushing Andy! We're all following your steps! And thank you so much for all youve bring to that sport!❤👏🙏 Be safe out there! Peace man ✌
So much snow design coming to skate. Loving it. When Rome and some brands started doing squared tails n noses I died. Clean deck all around. And personality to go with it. Lovin it! 🤘🤘
They do. A Mini logo Complete is really a all Mini-Logo Skateboard😂. They sell everything, Decks, Wheels, Trucks, Bearings, etc, even just the Bushings you can buy😂
Dude im all for it! i fucking LOVE the design and donno why no one else has done it before! I def want one to try! esp being older and skating less street and more bowls, But still be able to heelflip and shit no problem. Has any Skater every really broken down and redesigned an actually functional new deck? I just love that its like a hybrid. It is legit a GENIUS Deck! I NEED one!!!
The shape reminds me of the old Schmitt stick yard stick, but not 36 inches long. It’s a sic shape! The original yard stick is how Sector 9 got there idea for the Company. Loads of us who surfed and skated half pipes and drainage ditches here in San Diego, Ocean Beach to be more accurate loved the yard stick, still do. Much respect to Primo De Gennaro and his wife Diane who used to have a show at Seaworld called city streets that guy is sic.🤙🏼
I have a weird sense of humor but I found it hilarious they named “andy explains why his board is..like that” 😂 why not just “andy explains the uses of his board shape” or something 🤷♂️
None of this changes the fact the board skates really well, I had to wait 3 months to get a second one due to supply and Demand,.......Also the most Expensive deck I have ever brought by a long shot.
This guy embodies the true spirit of what it used to mean to be a skateboarder - an outsider/weirdo/non conformist who does what he does just for the love of riding his board and doesn't give two f**ks what people think, in a strange way hes cut from the same cloth as your alvas, duane peters, grossos and phelps, you gotta respect his love for the game and his skills even if you think he's a kook, it's a pity Thrasher can't see that and support him as he probably embodies their true ethos more than anybody else in the industry
This makes so much sense, pro golfers and other athletes make adjustments to their equipment to help with personal technique, why not a skateboard too!
