Thanks Andy, this was beautiful man. It is still funny today. You were a forward thinker in this class. I you did this today it would still go man. Now much wiser and years behind you, it would still go, like a good song, melody or rhythm. It is lasting at best. Thank you for the course you took to pursue this venture. I laughed today watching this, 1/7/2021.
Was a big fan of Andy Bumatai- saw him 1979!... very talented w-local humor & so talented remember... in 80s seeing him National TV a couple time (things like this) & thinking wow he was gonna really cross over to haole humor & he nails it ... a huge talent🤙
Why do Hawaii's Stand-up comedians tick? They don't tell jokes about other ethnic groups and laugh at them. Rather, they tell jokes about all ethnic groups and they all laugh together.
These were the days when I was growing up. We told jokes that everyone laughed to because they were jokes. Nowadays the younger generation cry bebehs! They are offended by everything. SMH!
Kailuaboy, so true. thank you for your appreciation; join us at Andy's new platform at Twitch.tv/andybumatai at 6am HST, 9am Pacific. It's a live stream so it's interactive with it's host, Andy and the gang who chat. You will get the Aloha Spirit there and enjoy Andy's original videos. Don't believe me, come see!
Legends provide the best laughs. Especially Andy no doubt past to present you will get quality. These days hes doing a podcast twice a week and doing shows during the week with delima, tulba& etc.. if you're in Honolulu by pearlridge get tix and go.
FYI: Andy's show is now a chat show everyday since September 2020 on twitch.tv/andybumatai at 6am Hawaii time. If it's too early for you to catch it live, no worries, a replay is available ru-vid.com 24 hours later.
Andy Bumatai was a huge star in Hawaii during the early 80's. Unfortunately, I don't think his genius translated well to mainland audiences. This performance was obviously tailored to a non-Hawaiian audience, and the material is kind of meh. He is still one of da greats though. Check out his current channel for some good kine laughs. Also, very glad he survived his bout with cancer a few years ago. ru-vid.com/show-UCU1MYF4uQqXw2CfJ6o48M1g
I've always loved Andy B and his style of island comedy. Always funny. But his comedy wouldn't fly today with the thin skinned politically correct crowd out and the way we have to bend over backwards for them. Great comedy will always offend someone and we've gotten way to serious these days to enjoy a good laugh.
So did Andy think his jokes about Hawaiian culture would go over the heads of the audience? Because this is Andy watered down and out of his element. It's not good.
Ahhh hes a comedian, comedians r joking. Good Grief. People are such dudes now a days so sensitive &such cry babies. Late nite shows aren't even funny anymore.
Not all people were meant to be comedians. But he gave it a halfway descent try. People in the 80's had very little choice for entertainment, so they saw him.
