6.27 Edge Records cuts in - a track from an era, gladly lived and sorely missed. Music evolves mind and Andy C has been there from day dot. He is a living legend, still leading, creating, evolving and living in the moment for the people dancing as eagerly today as they did 'back in the day'... Hats off to the main man from Essex!! :)
Edge Records - i think the producer was Gordon Mathewman who did Panic by Force Mass Motion on Rabbit City Records (hardcore classic too), the song itself is called Compounded. there must be videos of both on RU-vid - happy days!!
it is...hes using serato by the looks of it, just selecting the tunes on the laptop but everything else is still old skool, queing up and beatmatching with vinyl
when he came to town recently i managed to grab some quick conversation backstage and he explained that the extra baggage cost of bringing vinyl everywhere is getting too much; so he uses serato to select tunes but mixing is still done 100% oldschool... if you are at an executioner gig you really shouldnt be in any state to worry about sound quality so i cant see anything to complain about !!
1. sub focus- out the blue 2. commix - be true 3. lennie de ice - we are i. e. 4. ??? 5. ltj bukem - atlantis - marky and spy rework 6. chase & status - blind faith (loadstar remix)
I could have seen this specific set live in Prague but I missed it. Check this one from Andy: www.mixcloud.com/spnk/andy-c-live-from-global-gathering-2010/
+tatjana kolkovskaja tune mixed with Blind Faith = Engineers Without Fear - Spiritual Aura - Dee Jay Recs followed by Omni Trio - Renegade Snares (Foul Play remix) - Moving Shadow
Yes - the vinyl record is simply a metronome to keep time - and adjusting the pitch increases/decreases the tempo accordingly. The mixer (or something else) will be plugged in via USB to the laptop, which changes the song tempo to match the output. It's done in milliseconds. I used to have (back in 2003) Final Scratch, which was the original equipment by Stanton Magnetics & Native Instruments.
Andy is good and all that but I get the notion GQ and C just travel the globe not to spread the D n B vibe global but to avoid taxation if they spend more than 91 days out of the country (not hard for these two) you avoid a lot of tax. Nice work if you can get it.
iXplore Oh no I 've no idea who these two jokers are. Listen sonny boy jim I was raving at World dance before Andy played there matey. I think you need to learn a little about politics rather than popular music before counter arguing a stance. Reading might help you
