I grew up at that park and learned how to swin in the wave pool, my aunt would leave us in the deep end and we either learned quick or had the embarrassment of dealing with the lifeguards. It was cruel but it worked i was swimming like a fish by age 5.
I cant swim either 🤣 i also nearly drowned when i was 13 (July 1998) you would of been 7 at the time. My brother held my head under the water for too long while on holiday. Fun times
🖤🖤🖤 That's crazy, I've always viewed my life in a weird movie format, as though it was all being recorded, and somebody / people were watching. I still do, although it's less of a conscious thought now. I've never heard anyone say this out loud, and now I feel a little less crazy / Narcissistic about it. Thanks Andy! Also, F* that lifeguard! What an asshole!
Didn’t learn to swim until I was 18 despite several years of lessons. Took a 15 year old French boy to teach me in a way I understood and I still wouldn’t to into the shallow end of a wave pool haha I drown every time I’m in the water so I can relate.
don't worry i can't swim either. almost drowned as well when at the the pool at the baptist campgrounds when my t ball team was having a party. thankfully ronnie was thee to get me before i actually drowned. i was like 11 or so at the time
I almost drown twice as a kid. Once when I was in a pool because my brother took my pool floatie away and once in Lake Michigan I was in about up to my shoulders when suddenly I got pulled under by the undertow and eventually made it to shore and when I told my family they didn't believe me.
I nearly drowned when i was about 8. Emphasis on nearly, because while i could swim i was and still am a very weak swimmer. We were on vacation and my mom was with my brother a few yards away in the one-foot deep area with my brother, who was a toddler back then. I was playing with some kids in the pool throwing rings at the bottom of the pool and retrieving them. One of them goes to the deepest part and i couldn't tread water yet so i end up half flailing half sinking in the deep end. One of the other kids grabbed me and pushed me to the side of the pool so i could grip onto it and i was fine. There wasn't a lifeguard it was just a hotel pool. You know what the real kicker is? My mom didn't see cause of course she had her eyes on my baby brother. But she denies entirely that it ever happened. She was furious that i wrote about it for class once i don't even remember the topic tbh. I just remember how furious she was that i dared make up something like that and make her look like some awful abusive parent. She did that all the time...still does...if it reflects badly on her, she will deny it happened and get righteously furious. It really fucked me up tbh. Thinking i just remembered everything she said and did wrong all the time. Cause she regularly was emotionally/verbally abusive.
I couldn't swim at 8. I went to the indoor pool at the econo lodge my dad worked maintenance at. My stupid ass went to the 6 ft portion of the pool and nearly drowned. My cousin Jason jumped in with his wallet and god know what else (pot most likely) still in his pockets and saved me. 😂 He was pretty pissed when he got out.
You like D&D, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini and croquet. You can't swim, you can't dance and you don't know karate. Face it, you're never gonna make it
