For those of you that aren't auction people, the true test of an auctioneer isn't how fast he can chant, but how much he can get you to pay. Notice how he breaks into the chant, and gives some empty space and a few jokes. This guy is GOOD.
A Damn Good Auctioneer. The Better the AUCTIONEER interacts with the BUYERS the SELLERS MAKE MORE MONEY.... He is from a dying breed.... Loved the Video
@NORTHWOODSPREPPER1 (Mennonite here) everyone on stage is Amish (by appearance). But it varies so much and there are "transition stages" :) between the two names so it can be difficult to tell. I'll call someone Amish and some1's like, "ahem, 'amish-mennonite.'" Fine.
What funny is I was at an auction just like this. The final bid was down to nickels and dimes and it went like that for a while it was a hot run the whole place Held their breath until the end. I wish I could remember the auctioneer because he would do that if he knew it would get it sold without running it out to long, unless it was making for a good time. I remember one item went to like 3,000 and then he went dollar at a time till it sold lol. Everyone had a good time
i don't know Andy (apparently that is this fella's name) but man oh man can he ever chant...i grew up going to auctions 3 or 4 nights a week ...everything from just flea market junk to livestock and farm equipment..i know a good chant when i hear it ...Andy could sell ice water to a eskimo...he has honed his chant to perfection
This brings back a lot to me, I lived right across the road (557) back when John Andrews was the Auctioneer, Those were the good old days. I sure thought Steve or Scott would be there.
Do you have any Current videos of Andy in action? Do you plan to make any New Videos of Andy? I've watched all the old one so many times, I'm ready for New ones!😊
I worked as a spotter at many auctions. This guy does okay but it depends on the crowd. I worked with a guy that was fast but you had to listen close to keep up with him. I've also worked for guys that made you think of blowing raspberries.
Uh oh, I'm in trouble. I have to bid on produce (I'm from the area) and I can' understand a word. Will have to use a 'buyer' and pay him til I get used to it or I'll be buying something for way more than I intended, lol
I can't wait till Summer comes so we can once again hear Andy!!! He's the best of the best!!!!! No kidding, if you see him once, you'll be SOLD on him!
Honestly, I have no problem understanding him completely. He's just GOOD, no he's GREAT!!!!! He does throw some entertainment in there too, which in my opinion makes him even better!
When Andy is up in our area, we go to his auction. Its worth going even if your not going bid on anything. The part when he joke around in Pennsylvania Dutch. I can't translate fast enough to catch the joke.
@@rweverett I was speaking of his abilities But let’s go there....I’m always up for learning new things: how do microphones and speakers NOT work on electricity?
@@biffalobull2335 thanks so much for the clarification. They use gas-powered generators the entire time. Yes, he's so good and he involves the audience so much, which makes every auction he does so much fun! I can't wait to begin the "auction" season here once again. They were missed so bad last year. I plan on posting more videos this year. Thanks again for clarifying it was apprecaited!
@@jacobshetler7541 I didn't ask for your opinion on here so if you don't like what I have to say - GET THE HELL OFF MY RU-vid POSTS, I DIDN'T INVITE YOUR THOUGHTS!
