Andy Serkis talks about playing Ian Dury and slips into his Gollum voice from The Lord of the Rings on Geoff Lloyd's Hometime Show. See more at www.absoluterad...
I discovered this movie on Showtime about a decade ago. Fucking loved it. I learned a lot about the band. Definately one of the most interesting and genuine movie bios about a band/Rockstar that I have ever seen. Ian Drury does a great job pulling off the concert scenes.
Can't wait to watch this movie. I've just recently been getting to know Ian Dury and his unique brand of music. Andy Serkis will probably be brilliant as always.
My boyfriend & myself were extras in the film for the gig parts it was supposed to Hammersmith Odeon but was filmed at Watford Theatre & they cut some amazing stuff out of the film & didn't even put them as extras on dvd that's a massive shame.
That is genius - if there was ever an actor to follow ledgers joker i would go for serkis. i originally thought depp, but he'd probably be too similar to ledgers. Serkis could pull it off though
i'd love to know more about how he met dury , what were the circumstances.?,. That intrigued me , i always confused ian dury as an easy going chap...that's obviously just his "persona " ...another lesson in not confusing what people DO - with who they really are ,.
Andy actually said that it was a scripted movie. I think it shows how good the acting is if it looks more like real dialogue/improvisation than, well, acting.
