Andy Serkis (Caesar, Gollum) talks about his new film War On The Planet of The Apes, along with demonstration on how to act as an ape :) Date: 31-Jun-17
he has not even been nominated. It's a crime basically, that's what it is. The way he played Gollum and Caesar, not to mention King Kong. If Serkis is not nominated for War For the planet of the apes, then i have no idea what it will take. His performance is stellar!.
Same world (acting) just different methods of acting although genre wise they overlap. Mark usually plays action roles, some comedic roles, some serious roles, whilest Andy also plays in those genres but his acting method or style is completely different compared to Mark's. Mark has little to no experience when it comes to motion-capture acting. I don't see a competition between them... your opinion favors Andy over Mark, I consider Andy a great actor as well.
I would be exactly like Sienna Miller at the end, 05:46 - 05:50 when she hears Andy is going to do Gollum, saying yay and grinning and leaning forward all excited.
I love stuff like this, how actors can all work together on multiple different projects in so many ways. Judy Greer- who played Caesars wife Cornelia in the Apes trilogy- co starred with Serkis in a movie a few years back and was a huge fan of the PotA series, hence why Serkis asked her to be part of the new series of movies
bennie. ok. but 1997 was round about 20 years ago. have you seen pain&gain? transformers, lone survivor, the gambler, ted 1+2, daddy's home, contraband? name one of the last years, every performance was just wahlbergerish.
Love Andy cos despite all of his incredible accomplishments, his continued discipline and talent, he is always completely modest and willing to be game for entertaining people. Really lovely man.
It just occurred to me that both Mark Wahlberg and Andy Serkis are in the same room together knowing that both of them were in two different versions of Planet of the Apes and both versions are 10 years apart exactly.
I think this is the point where Mark realized how low he has sunk. Here he's sitting with other great talents, Planet of the Apes and Spiderman, while he's been stuck with Transformers. Hopefully he'll join better projects now that he quit Transformers.
No, but you are part of a tiny minority of people who did, but it still doesn't compare to Revenge of the Fallen and The Last Knight(which was the first transformers-movie to bomb at the box office)
I agree - apart from the first Transformers film, the others (apart from AoE (in my opinion, of course)) are pretty terrible films. And I saw The Last Knight. It was so incredibly awful. What did they do to Optimus? I couldn't believe it. Although Nemesis Prime IS an interesting concept if I'm being honest.
So the last knight is good? Haven't watched any since the original trilogy. Don't like Walberg much, his acting is pretty poo and he has an attitude it seems
The ending of that film is just one of the best I have ever seen! It's bittersweet, tragic, hopeful and beautiful at all the same time! Andy Serkis should got an Oscar Nomination for his magnificent performance as Caeser.
He was originally in Planet of the Apes, and now he's in transformers. He probably wishes he was back doing planet of the apes films since they're so much better now especially compared to Transformers films
Jesus christ.. Im so sick of people saying transformers suck.. FFS, all the movies have bombed the box office with hundreds of millions of dollars and mark wahlberg is richer than everyone of them combined... comeon dude... Wake up.. The planet of the apes movies isnt even near their box office... I am a fan of Mark and Andy and both movie franchises but wake up.. Transformers is just better.. no matter what anyone says, since the boxoffice exploded on all the transformers movies.
@@ihellman2998 hopefully in the six years it’s been since you made that post you’ve grown a brain and realized how wrong you were. The transformers movies were garbage.
I love that Andy Serkis is always down to relive his performances decades ago. Some actors may have sick of it already, or requested before the interview to not mention it.
London still has talent. I brought my grandchildren to see your stuff. Both loved the mandm sweet shop. Then my oldest granddaughter saw Leicester Square and the best theatre. My little granddaughter was amazed by the clock. Ta. Love ya. J
i seriously dont care what people think about mo cap... but it seriously is an artform now... and andy serkis is an absolute master of his mo cap work.... and mark whalberg is an absolute muppet
