Pinkaugust I agree! Christopher Nolan is definitely is one of the greatest, if not the greatest film maker of our time. Everything he's done is a masterpiece and/or movie of the year in the year it came out. Sadly he never got the recognition he deserves, especially for Inception and TDK. Hopefully this year with Interstellar they'll give him something. (Though I've not yet seen Interstellar but I'm sure it'll be awesome)

honestly speaking i think if am an actor i'll like to be on that list cause i mean everyone on there has a long lasting and much more impact on people which is what being a film maker is all about,plus they are celebrated and will be celebrated for generations and also its like they are kinda like rebels saying fuck you to this "authority" which is the oscars which thinks they like have the power to say who is the best.

Here's the reasons why Andy Serkis deserves more than one Oscar (and that one Oscar). 1. He played both King Kong AND Godzilla (so that means if we get another Godzilla vs. King Kong movie he's going to be fighting himself). 2. He's the master of motion capture performances. 3. He taught Benedict Cumberbatch (and many others) how to use motion capture (in this case to play a dragon). 4. He's one of the only Marvel villains who hasn't died... yet. 5. He's going to make one of the best films with "Origins" in the title (trust me it's basically a death wish now a days). 6. He's most likely going to get one in 2018 for the first film he 100% directed (the other being parts of the Hobbit trilogy) 7. The Imaginarium Studios

+HonorAmongScars He didn't play Godzilla. He was consulted and only did the motion capture for his eyes. Which is why we got such realistic expressions from Godzilla. And we are getting a Godzilla vs King Kong movie. And just because he played King Kong in the past does not mean he'd be playing him again. But I think he should portray King Kong again, He did better than fantastic on it. But with everything else you listed here, Yes. I agree fully.

+Damon242 No motion capture is the same as normal acting. The digitization is the same as wearing a suit/make-up. So they just should be included in the normal actor/actress categorize (as Andy Serkis likes to see it as well).

The best thing about Andy is when He does a voice. He BECOMES the character he is portraying. Just look at his face when he goes from Smeagol to Caesar. You can tell just by his facial expressions. Andy is a fucking legend

Reading the comments it is insane how many people just think that andy serkis is a voice actor. When he plays these characters, not only does he do the voice, but almost every movement you see by the character is captured motion from his acting on set, from large body motions to small facial twitches. Granted, the animators will add a bit here or there, but Andy Serkis is a legend.

+wayzhc actually they hired him for the voice and were going to not use motion capture however serkis got so much in to the character and became gollum that peter jackson had to base everything around serkis, the model of gollum changed completely into the structure or andy serkis's face and the monkey like movements all cane from serkis

I love the evolution of Andy's career, he really has been at the forefront of mocap technology and all because he started with that brilliant performance in Lotr that he put his heart and soul (and body) into.
