The great guitarist Andy Taylor performing his solo 1986 hit When The Rain Comes Down with Dweezil Zappa, live on MTV on New Years Eve, 1987. All rights reserved to the legitimate owners.
It's mind boggling to find out that a guy from Duran Duran could turn out to be conversant enough with Thin Lizzy's music to pull out a cover of Rosalie (and trust me, he knew it as a Thin Lizzy song, not as a Bob Seger number). Almost as disconcerting as one of the guys from Spandau Ballet playing Pink Floyd songs with Nick Mason (and not just one of the guys from Spandau Ballet, but the guy who wrote the songs, the guy who wrote FRELLING True!)
This is what the 80's Was all about Rockin Guitars and Neon Colors, Good Times, and Such. If you missed that era so sorry for you because I lived it. A perfect place and time!!!!!
Andy Taylor has some killer solo stuff, including this. Considering how loaded he appeared to be, it was New Years Eve, his voice sounds pretty good. Killer guitar harmony after the solo. Love it.
Please stop harassing Andy. At least he tried. Which is more than I can say for the so - called wannabes of now.All right, some can sing, but most have electronic help or some auto tuning , etc. So , appreciate what was the 1980’s instead of bashing it to death.
I'd like Andy and Warren Cuccurullo to make an album together, I don't bother with DD since they shit on Andy a second time but I saw them on TV doing an hour special about two years ago and the bloke who's with them now made loads of mistake while playing (even I can play "Ordinary World" better). An album by those two would show DD what they're missing.
