Andy Timmons style Dual Delay sounds with Quad Cortex, Strymon Timeline, Future Factory and Boss

I had all the modellers, in my opinion the QC is the only one ne that has a really good dynamic and the bass frequencies are alive!! The effects, for my needs are perfect. I just create a small board with the QC and my best overdrive

I think it’s a credit to Andy that, if you owned none of these pedals, the cheapest way to get the AT sound from this group of boxes would be to buy the Keeley Halo! Makes a change from the old days when everyone was trying to emulate famous players’ $$$ rack systems with a DD3. In terms of this video, I thought the QC digital delays sounded most like Andy’s tone. The Boss sounded like the Edge (which makes sense as the Andy delay of a quarter note > dotted 8th is obviously the same as the U2 thing), and the future Factory (which I own) sounded like you had gain/clipping turned on, which made it less attractive to my ear for this tone hunt. Timeline is always solid. Thanks for posting this video and well played, literally. Edit: I love the Halo and it has been on my small board from the day I got it. Agree that you need an exp pedal to control the mix as AT does as well. The only downside of the Halo for me is that you can’t have a remote tap and exp pedal (for mix control) connected at the same time, as they need the same out jack on the pedal (the proprietary tap method on the Halo is a bit fiddly, especially mid-song, and their remote box - sold separately - only replicates what the foot switches on the pedal do).

I use the Roland DD 500 and the RV 500, the editing on both are incredibly deep, and stereo in and out and an expression pedal can be used. They are both cheaper than Andy Timmons Halo and far more sounds are available. In my opinion it is worth spending the money to get the quality sound.

Great video! I agree that the DD-200 wasn't as good as the others. It didn't seem to have as much stereo spread to my ears. The others sounded great!

If I didn't own the Strymon Timeline and Nightsky i'd love the Halo. But... I've got Timeline and Nightsky. Halo is nice though.

Hello my friend. Of all things I am still thinking of getting the Halo pedal and running it through my QC... am I crazy? I just loved how the tangible knobs on the Halo were and I did really love the sound of the Halo setting with no other tweaking. So I would have the one pedal and my QC. I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject. I sent it back when I got the QC... but I am willing to buy it again.

Hello and thanks for doing this video. I have had my QC for about 1.5 months. Before that I had the UA Dream Fender pedal and had the Halo in front of it. I sent those back and got the QC. To this very day I liked the simplicity of the Dream and Halo together. I play at church and my needs are pretty simple. I like the QC, but I don't love it... yet. I must admit I have not invested a whole lot of time in it so far. I like what you have done with the QC here. Is it possible to get your presets on the Neural Cloud? Thanks.
