The joke was that they were both gay. No wives. No interest in having wives.

Warhol couldn't stand Couri. Read the "Diaries" and find out. Couri was always hard to take.

Warhol couldn't stand a lot of people! I read the diaries as well and used to own a paperback copy. The only thing I can remember from the diaries is how Boy George and Marilyn couldn't stand Warhol! The only thing I can remember about Couri Hay was his mention in Take it Like a Man in Boy George's book.

I don’t know Andy never met him . Lou Reed spoke so highly of him and his non -stop creativity. He looks like he is / was high functioning autism . Which is not a bad thing . It would explain quite a bit . Andy’s legacy lives on ❤️

Now that's a stupid comment. You reckon all calm shy people are autists?

He just seems like a normal intellectual or artist to me. Not everyone who's cerebral is autistic.

"How´s your wife?" Lool... speaks volumes for the invisibility of gay people at that time... and how deep in the closet they had to be in public.
@capitanfuturo594

At that time, homosexuals were very respectful people. The sexual orientation of each one is a private matter and that is how things were handled in those years where everyone was truly happy and not like today.

Andy was going prematurely bald and started wearing toupees in his 20s, if I'm not mistaken. One time, he wore a toupee that happened to be slightly lighter in color. He found that he liked the two-tone effect. So, he started wearing lighter and lighter toupees until he reached the white fright wig that became his signature look. He purposely chose that look as his trademark.
