Good video thanks. I use both the latest version of Cura and 15.04.6 the reason is that 15.04.06 loads faster operates smoother on my 10 year old computer and is adequate for most of my printing needs but sometimes I want or need to use some of the new features and then I'll load the newest version. I hope you get a chance to get an Anet A8 Plus. My grandson in-law has one and it's a huge improvement over the original Anet A8 in performance, build area and safety features.
Great guide. I had missed that i had to input my material diameter, was trying all kinds of flow-fixes. So thank you for showing the solution to that problem.
Just bought a Anet A8 from a friend.. My first 3D printer.. So learning about all this :) When i do the Cura settings, Slice to G-code and put file on SD card... Do i need to click anything on the printer before printing?!?! Heat up the filament etc?!?! Or will it do all of that, itself, and then print?!?!
Good video. For those using Cura 4.1 they need to add an additional 'Speed' setting. The value needs to be changed from '0' to '500'. If left at zero the A8 makes some looooong pauses when printing.
I was gifted a non functioning A8 with Marlin 1.1.8. I repaired a loose leveler connection cleared a jammed hot end , replaced the lcd screen, figured out Cura and got it printing. I am now upgrading and fine tuning it. Is my next step upgrading Marlin? I don't know if my board has a bootloader. Where do I start with getting my software current?
Man, I have a heck of a time getting my first layer going. I set up a skirt with lots of laps and far away from the part, but cura thinks I want to print with the nozzle like 4mm away from the build plate. I have to crank the Z steppers down by hand a few clicks to get it close enough to the build plate for the extrusion to make contact with the bed. - and if I dont do it this way, - IE, if I raise the bed, or adjust the z axis zero switch, then the print nozzle will crash into the bed when homing...
greetings im using my Anet A8 with and ender e3 profile wich actually make better printing results...however i bought an auto leveling sensor and my question is how can i confit it mantaining the ender profile??? btw Love your videos it helped me a lot... sallutations from Portugal
Maybe you should add in the description, that the video is a guide for setting up Anet A8 in Cura version 4.1 (which is pretty outdated by 2020/04). The current Cura version (4.6) seems to come with an Anet A8 profile, though it differs a bit from your settings... I would be happy if you would provide a new updated video. Thanks though.
I wish this video was out when I first started. Grant video and tutorial. You could try to make a inclosure for the anet A8, if you did it on a low bugit should be cool
Thanks for your videos , wonderfully explained. I have a problem with max Z axis height in which both hardware switches and cura software Limit the height to about 35mm. I know what’s happening but don’t know why. Every click of the Z fast position operation assumes a 1mm increase In height on the LCD display but due to the lead screw of 8mm it only raises the Z axis by 1.25 mm every 8 clicks ( 1 rotation of the lead screw) so in short it only raises the Z axis by 1/6 th of the hardware reading. PLEASE tell me what to do , I’m in the dark , I have V1.5 motherboard. Hope to hear , kind regards Alan.
Daniel: is there a way to connect the CURA GUI to the Anet A8? I have a TronXY 3SX and I am connecting Repetier installed on my laptop to the 3D printer. The printer uses a Melzi V2.0.5 controller board. I can control the printer from my laptop. For small prints this seems to be easy. I have not found a way to connect Cura to the Anet A8 using my laptop. Have you fond a way to connect to the Anet A8 with Cura, Repitier, Slic3er. Thanks for any information. Richard
Great video, but when you set it up in cura, does automatically save them settings and then load them into the printer or do you have to manually do the same on the printer? I've only just built mine, and am setting it up, any help would be appreciated, thanks
Which Cura Version is this for? I have Version 4.8. Is this Setting usable for all Cura Versions? For Example ..the XMin, YMin is negative (only Xmax. and Ymax is positive) in the printhead setting on the right... Minute 2:18. You tell to leave it as it is... so should i leave it negative?
Hey! I was given an Anet A8, but we've run into a problem. Everything seems to work except the hearing element isn't doing anything. It starts going through the motions of printing without anything coming it and the readout says 0°. I was told the heat sensor was bad, and they sent a new one, but I've tested the great sensor that already installed with a multimeter and it works. Any thoughts? I didn't buy this, it was given to me, and I don't know how to contact the manufacturer.
Thanks for making a great video. I followed your instructions and I am having a better results. I had a question. What is the reason when I am printing the filament is printing rough. bumpy. I that to do with the leveling? How do I fix this? Thanks
thank you for the video. regarding gcode provided can i copy and paste as is? i have sensor on my tronxy p802ma. anet a8 clone. i copied and pasted as is. sorry im not understanding enable, or what to copy and paste. thanks for any help. i lost my original sd card and cant use printer. was hoping to get around the whole repertier host thing.
This maybe a silly question but @2:50 the build plate shape is set to "rectangular" but the x and y area is set to 220 x 220 which indicates a square. Isn't that a square build plate? Does this affect anything?
Here's a weird question for you - the cooling fan (that points to the nozzle, not over the gears) doesn't turn on except when I boot the A8. I can't seem to find anywhere in Marlin where the code is wrong. Any ideas?
I bought mine in 2018. i need to setup a new pc but i dont have the old version of cura 14.07 which the document says to install and its not on their website. Can I use a newer version? if not, where can I get the old version? thanks
Thanks for your comment! This is actually a good idea to make a video about. I will take it into my backlog and post a video response on my channel. Let me know, if there is any other topics that you like me to cover.
hello, i am having a problem with my Anet a 8 printer. the problem is its not printing the complete object but it show 100% on display but the printer just freeze there an do nothing until disable the stepper and remove the print. please replay soon as possible
Thanks good info. Although I never understand why people don't use the drop down menu under 'save file', to send the file via usb to the printer rather than copy onto an sd card etc.
I have another problem I can't turn on the extruder on my Anet A8. I got to the extruder setting and it says extruder off and I can't turn it on. Why Not?
Hi, I have an Anet A8M double extruder with the motherboard PCB KFB 2.0 from Bigtreetech; I would like to know if you have the original firmware or Marlin firmware. Please make a video explaining how to upgrade. Thank you
hi Paolo, I am using Marlin firmware with all of my printers. there is several videos that I made that explain how to install it on a 3d printer however the KFB 2.0 is a bit exotic so I cannot tell you if you will be able to use the Arduino ide or platformio to flash the firmware.
Nesh, please watch this video first and try the methods explained in it fiest. Wish you success! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wRODgnAqp1A.html
