The fact that everyone has basically accepted that he will be an Italian legend already is amazing

Such a skilled young player, really exciting to see. I hope Italy grow into a force to be reckoned with in the 6N, they've got some good scalps now and a vibrant youthful team!

Hogg has been my full back for the majority of the last 3 years on 6 nations fantasy rugby, might be dethroned this year

It's really great to see what a small, light, quick and agile player can do - something us old gits miss in the modern game. The swerve, the sidestep, the change of pace, a drop of one shoulder, a feint, and off they go in the other direction leaving defenders flatfooted. Brilliant stuff. We hope he, together with the likes of Kolbe, etc, is a sign of a return to the game which catered for all sizes. As a Welshman, I was actually cheering his fabulous break last year, especially the in/out, and applauded his unselfish pass inside to make the conversion easier. The recipient of the pass was, fortunately for Italy, still on his feet despite a blatant attempt to block/charge him off the ball by I forget who on the Welsh team. We could do without that kind of ugly gamesmanship, please. Josh Adams partly redeemed that act by his teammate by his sportsmanship at the end. Well done Italy and Capuozzo (how the hell is it supposed to be pronounced, by the way?).

I think the Welsh player that tried shoving Padovanni was Moriarty (ironic lol) - and I BELIEVE Capuozzo is pronounced like 'Cap-wot-zo', based on how I've heard French and Italian commentators say it but I could be wrong
@johnf991
@johnf991 Год назад
@@jamesmcnulty3697 Yep - Moriarty! Thanks for the steer, and on the pronunciation. Well, at least he didn't try to get him in a headlock like he did the Argentinian scrum-half (I think) at and after the final whistle on tour a couple of years ago! His Dad could be a loose cannon too! He and Peter Mahoney can both be very good players but can be a liability when the red mist descends. Others may disagree of course.....
@jamesmcnulty3697
@jamesmcnulty3697 Год назад
@@johnf991 Oh yeah that choke hold on the Argentinian was a joke, I remember the ref told him to let go 3 times - think it was on this channel on a vid about red cards tbh. But yeah he'd be much better if it weren't for the red mist - still, that's what gives them the edge to be so great anyways arguably lol Edit: when I say 'joke', I mean it was ridiculous - not that it wasn't serious lol

@@jamesmcnulty3697 Maybe we expect too much of these guys in a highly physical game? That said, the late great Cliff Morgan used to tell a story about the 1955 Lions tour to SA which involved the England 2nd row, David Marques of Harlequins (known to all as Alfie after the comedy actor Alfred Marks). He was at the bottom of a ruck being trodden on and raked, mainly by one particular player. He extracted himself from the ruck, faced up to the culprit and offered to shake hands. After the game, the Welsh hooker (whose name escapes me ....Ray Prosser, maybe, or was he later?) was talking to Marques and said "what the fucking hell was all that about Alfie? Why didn't you stick one on him? Marques' reply: "You wouldn't understand, old boy: I wanted to make him feel like a cad." Brilliant.

Fast, electric but yet still able to pass it off if needed. So mature for such a young player. Great video

Refreshing to see a guy who’s build resembles a rugby player of a previous era , like the French backs from 99’

I’m as happy to see him thrive in the Italian team as i’m sad the french federation couldn’t call him in. He’s born in France, after all, and thus a french citizen fully eligible for les bleus.

As a supporter from Toulouse I'm feared to see a huge winger like Raka totally destroying him on a tackle. He is a super rugby player I hope he's going to play more during the end of the season.

Joy to watch him play. Not so much to hear his name mispronounced. Seriously, that "o" is there for a reason.

As an all blacks fan, I have a feeling Italy can pull off a massive upset against us and this man will be at the centre of it.
