They may have gotten the mustard out, but things did not end well for David Fury's character.

When Angel was on the air, I shipped Fred and Wesley so hard. And when Smile Time first aired, my VCR didn't tape the episode. When I watched the next episode, Fred and Wesley were suddenly a couple. I was crushed! I waited years for that moment, and I missed it.

I love this episode. The chemistry between Spike and Angel is just great.

I loved that after that fight with Spike Angel still got him a new car “You heard the puppet.”

“You’re a wee lil’puppet-man!!!” 😂😂😂 I’ve literally been waiting years now to get a look at your face during this scene! This might be my in my top 10 favourite Angel of episodes of all time. Strange & out of place considering it’s place in the series, you can practically imagine the writer’s room when this episode got green lit: “So, looks like we’re not going to get renewed next year. Should we give them something to talk about, or just start firebombing now?” “Why not do both?? Let me tell you a story idea that I had socked away for just such an occasion…” “…I see. Puppets. Yes. Make it happen.”

The scene with Spike is one of the funniest things in all of the buffyverse. Absolutley amazing!

Liam, those plush dolls are incredibly expensive, being produced in very limited runs during the final season as a collectible. Like , they regularly sell for over a hundred dollars (USD) each. Someone must really love you. Also, yes, there is a "non-vampire-face" one too. That's even more rare, I believe.

One of my all-time favorite episodes. Underrated moment: Angel's congested-sounding voice when he pulls off his nose.

Joss Whedon's father was a writer for The Muppet Show, I assume they used that connection to get some of the puppeteers from Jim Henson studios to work on this episode..

I'm still amazed at how this manages to be the funniest episode of Angel while also being one of the horrifying in concept. I'm not sure I've seen anything that's ever nailed horror/comedy quite as well as this one episode did.

One of my ultimate favourite episodes of the buffyverse. It has everything. The way Angel reacts when Fred says they can turn him back makes me laugh every single time. Totally brilliant. "Wee lil' puppet man" 🤣 Also this is one of my favourite reactions of yours. So kind of someone to send you a limited edition vampire Angel puppet.

While "You're Welcome" is still my favorite episode of _Angel,_ I don't think there's any doubt that "Smile Time" is the *funniest* episode of the entire Buffyverse (well, “Something Blue” is also a contender). The puppet stuff is absolutely brilliant, and the Angel/Nina and Fresley (😃!) advancement is also great.

This is my favorite episode in the entire Angel series.

The guy who the puppet was abusing is actually one of the writers of the Buffyverse. His name is David Fury. He was also the guy singing about the cleaners getting the mustard out from his shirt, in Once more with feeling. 🎼🎶🎵🎙 "THEY GOT. THE MUSTAAAARD, OUUUUUT!!" LOL This was a filler episode that I definitely didn't mind. It was hilarious. Your reaction to it was too. 🤣

As much as I LOVE this episode I can't wait for the next couple of episodes. This series does not let you pause. It's all fantastic.

For a second there, I thought Liam was having a bad hair day... and then I realized that it was an Angel puppet in the thumbnail.

Angel did quite a few off-the-wall episodes. At this point in the series, we had forgotten how humorous it could get. Getting the stuffing ripped out of him by a werewolf is certainly one of the highlights of the entire series. Always makes me smile!

Wait.....was Wesley getting his ass kicked by a big, purple, puppet before Fred saved him? Man!!!

Smile Time! Oh, where do I begin..? This is one of my favorite episodes of the entire show. It’s just so fun! From Spike fighting Puppet Angel all the way to Wesley and Fred finally getting together! As I’ve mentioned a few times before, Fresley is my all-time favorite Buffyverse ship because the two of them are just so perfect for each other and they’re both my favorite male and female characters in the entirety of the Buffyverse. I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long between the two of them, and I’m just so glad to see you get to them and be just as excited as I was. Your reaction was just impeccable and brilliant and exactly what I’ve expected and so much more. I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed this episode. Thank you, as always, for your content, Liam! :)

I love this episode. I'd watch a series with Angel as a puppet.

A couple of years ago Framkin was getting ready for a big meeting about the ratings of his show when he accidentally spilled mustard on his best shirt. He took it to the local dry cleaners at Sunnydale and 🎵 They got the mustard out! 🎶

Whenever I need something to lighten my mood, this episode is guaranteed to cheer me up - it's absolutely one of my favourites from either show, and your reaction was the most wholesome thing ever :) Also, can I just say I love that you have a "Literally Everyone Else in the World" shirt! Oxventure for life 💜

Loved your reaction but as always it was your review that has left me impressed as always! Liam already know the episodes in the show are finite so everything is limited. The relationship between Fred and Wesley is beautiful, at least for as many episodes we get left it is pure.

This episode is so much fun. That scene with puppet Angel and the sword with the others is just iconic. I have to say though, that Angel puppet you got doesn't look like Angel at all...it's more like Saruman on a bad hair day.

In the end, he's a good man and brave. He's enough. And so are you btw, since we are on self esteem. Also sad to hear about the spoiling.

Well I managed to delate my own comment somehow! Suffice to say I adored this episode, I thought this was so well done on so many levels. Oh and the Guy under the puppets control was a cameo by non other then Buffy/Angel alum David Fury. As I said before take good care of you Angel plush as they go for a small fortune on eBay these days. lol

Yes! This episode is so funny, but also the scene with the "puppetmaster" is hella creepy. Fun fact, that's the same guy who sang about the mustard in Once More With Feeling. I can't remember if he's one of the producers or writers, but David Fury is great with the Buffyverse.

Liam, you weren't the only one who had a drunk episode on the mind for this while watching your reaction! I'm already looking forward to it!😄 Nina, I feel serves the same purpose as Kennedy (only she's a little less annoying). They're not meant to be long-lasting partners, just healthy parts of moving forward for the characters. Also, while we might have lost Cordy, only a couple of episodes ago physically, she had been gone, and we all had been processing her loss for a while. Part of me wonders, though, if they used Nina to replace Kate. Can you imagine if we had got Kate back this season? It would have been nice to wrap up her story along with everyone else.
